In Nuclear Fire

I really hope you don't have transgendered people or furry people in your environment if that's your reaction to a coming out. I mean honestly it might just be the author playing things for shock considering another update is still coming but maybe have some tolerance? If he'd actually turned himself into a Zerg there wouldn't be nearly this reaction. Gender bender morph into agendered (or probably female) bio-monster is okay, but this is not? Honestly this feels like the coming out of a gay classmate in highschool where people felt they should be reflexively disgusted about it.

This behaviour is very much not okay.

I will not argue transgender or furry talking points here; as i know nothing of them. That was never my intention.

As i said before. If warning was given, or a story was written with the premise, I would have no issue.

Neither of those things happened here; and it hurts the story because of it.

The bio-monster / zerg route is no issue, because it would been in theme and would have been relatively forshadowed. This was not.

Edit: My point has been made, and I will not argue it further. Do what you will.

As interesting as this has been, and as cute as (s)he now is, I do somewhat hope this was a dream while his machine was working. It's a bit too surreal for the normal angst (although if the peace, love, and acceptance remain (albeit at slightly lower levels) I'll be quite happy). Poor idiot deserves something going his way and on his side for once.

At least he's not trying to kill himself now, but inventing a new and fascinating method of producing Case 53s is a good way to get unwanted attention. Especially in that city, in that setting, and if female.

Why is it that half the male worm OCs turn into girls halfway through?
I'd say either for humor or because said OCs tend to be trying for posthuman, which usually involves "optimizing" for odd things... or just demonstrating to themselves that the envelope doesn't matter. On that note, if I had shapeshifting, I really couldn't say what I'd do (other than turn myself into one of my avatars), so I can somewhat understand the idea of toying with a character's form. Accidentally inventing the Catgirling Machine, especially as it wasn't intended, is a bit more questionable.

Hopefully if he changes himself back to mostly human he'll keep the superhuman physical ability.
Let's pray he gets back into a male, I have already read several worm fics where the protagonist is a thirty something SI in the body of a teen or preteen girl..or gets turned into a girl.
It's a tired trope....and I saw it was going to happen before he got into the thing. "He is going to enter that, there will be an error and he will come out as the opposite gender.....and just accept it"

Fellow readers, you realize that in-story, Peter had no time to switch the new and improved TechPriest-body to a different 'skin', let alone check what templates were actually pre-installed, right?

Cause if my body was to be made up of nanites for the most part, influenced by skinchangers and Tremere (and therefore Tzimisce), that's what I'd set up.

I am okay with the genderbending, I just draw my line into furries.

Why turn into an icon of flesh when you can be an anthropomorphic glorious machine?

...I would... But I don't see my body as an extension of the Self. I only see myself as male because I have a cock. Gender has never mattered in my eyes outside of off colour jokes.

Thread: We are eagerly awaiting the next chapter
Poli: Becomes a Wolfgirl
Thread: Shun him shun him

I feel like that is the general tone here.
Count the number of new posters in the thread in the replies and you might get a different picture.

It ... was foreshadowed. Or did you just skim over that part?

They like robotmen because of WH40k, and some hate becoming different without becoming a robotman also because of WH40k. It's a interesting hypocrisy. I kind of suspect that in a alternate world where Games workshop had their religious fanatic transhumanist faction be all magus biologis the reaction would be completely opposite, it's that influential to some.

Personally i think the MC might get bored a few years from now, or maybe just upgrade further with new ToF capabilities, so they might well change bodies again eventually. But probably not in the story itself because it would be paths already traveled in the narrative.

Also personally i don't even know what people were expecting to then dare come in the thread and express disappointment. It's world of darkness technology, magic flesh is the standard. Ok i do know. What they're triggered by is that the transformation is a apparently stuck in 'nonhuman' because they ingest far too much alt-wrong hate and propaganda to specific harmless fantasies. One of you even intimated that 'all furries are pederasts' and thus intimited that the author was that because he dared make the mc into a woobie wolf. I'm not ok with this fucking bullshit.

Yuri harem? Honestly it's only the genderswap that bothers me not the werewolf

Because I read a naruto gamer fic where a straight man got reincarnated as a girl and grows up to fuck the Yonbi Jinchuuriki with red beard

Honestly, I didn't really expect this thing to happen, but holy fuck I didn't expect the reader reaction on SV either. Like 50% of the comments after this chapter go immediately either furry or gender bender hate. Isn't this supposed to be one of the more tolerant websites?

Maybe if you hate it this much just ghost instead of pissing all over the thread for five pages? Instead we get a konga line of people who think because they story isn't going the way they'd like it it's completely okay to make the author feel like shit about it. "Oh furry so disgusting, nooooo gender bender, you freak I'm out".

I mean imagine the author actually is a furry transwoman.
To be fair to them, this can actually cause a big change in the story in a either good or bad impression. People came here to read about a superhero, and furry stuff is usually sent to be the main basis and every fanfic.

I suggest you grow some callus. Your sexuality in no way implicates or is implicated by what you read. Yes, many times a genderbender will be about sexual fulfillment (much) later down the line. What do you care? If that same MC proceeded to, say, boink Konan, would you drop the story? Why so or why not?

For fucks sake sex scenes are literally 3 paragraphs most of the time. I get it, when i was a teenager i was also kind of worried about 'not appearing gay', even if i wasn't gay. It's all bullshit. No one is watching what you read to then say to your friends 'he read some gaaaaay stuff'. Just skip the naughty deeds chapters.

The most important question to ask....is which of Bitch's hounds Peter is related to after contaminating himself with Tattletale hugs. Epic Brundlefly moment!

I wouldn't be surprised if Bitch wants to be made into a werewolf once she discovers it's an option.

Does he keep blueprints? If the process is not tuned specifically for him, nothing will keep her from asking it i think.
If the machine is automated, which it must be to transform him, then it should be no different than running a program. S/He would probably have to run some scans of Rachel and select the race, then hit "Enter".

Edit: If the gender swap is permanent I only hope Peter renames herself. I have a mental image of the character so it would help reassign them in my head.

So um apparently I am the only one who checked the author's profile for gender after reading this? Because that sounded a lot like trans-depression and gender euphoria afterwards... Like this mindwipe thing is a common theme...

I had that thought, too - not that it's a requirement, but it sure hit a lot of the highlights to me.

Also, fwiw, I didn't get the impression that this was somehow transracial so much as a black-furred wolf being part of the mix. I am too lazy to check and see whether Peter's hair has been black the whole time, but if that coloration was just carried over to full-body fur... Aisha has been known to say things non-seriously, after all.

Anyhow, Poli, I'm absolutely loving this and can't wait to see what else you have planned, because yeah, Peter's characterization has never relied on fixed physical characteristics to anchor identity.

One thing I'm wondering is, if Peter can switch between 'Wolf' 'Human' 'Furry' and 'Holy Shit Werewolf Murder Machine!' at will.

Edit: So I'm not multi posting: Is she now linked to the Hivemind?

Honestly really surprised at all the hate for the chapter. A lot of people are complaining about the whole gender bend thing or the additions to Peter's anatomy. Sure sounds like they got Triggered. I wonder what warning was at the very top of the chapter.

More seriously, this has been foreshadowed since forever ago. While I fully expect this to either be a short term "problem," I don't really see an issue with it sticking around for a while.

I'm also kind of dumbfounded at the people who are going "Nope! Dropped." like Poli doesn't deserve some trust and credit for how much they have enjoyed the story to this point. Poli has written a great story so far and the gender change was part of the end of chapter cliffhanger. At least read the next chapter so you can have an actual grounding for your response other than a knee jerk reaction.
