In Nuclear Fire

I'm all for waiting for major plot points and all that, and I'm not demanding the author change anything, but I would like to know if the story is undergoing a major tonal shift so I can decide for myself if I'm going to keep reading it.

Authors should write what they want, but readers should know what they are getting into as well. If the story changes in the middle to something completely different, it's only respectful to warn people so they can make an informed choice.
I can't say there's anything wrong with that. I just think that if one follows an author's story for hundreds of thousands of words, one could stand to offer the author some patience in seeing what happens next at something strange or personally unpleasant.

Tbh I'm waiting for @Poliamida to post and inform us if Peter's transformation is going to be permanent addition to the story.

I've been on the fence since the anime waifus showed up, I'm waiting to see if this is the shove that pushes me off.

Again authors should write what they want, but this story started and is still is mainly a story about Worm, if it shifts even more to anime style hijinx its fair that readers be warned about that so they can make their own choices.

Making yourself an adorable female with no memories in the worm universe!? Was he trying to make himself his own version of hell!? Plus his new body was basically immortal so that means endless rape and or torture for all time if slaughterhouse gets him or whatever effed up next nightmare shows up!

First of all, calm your horses before a mod appears. Even if a wild monster girl had just appeared this isn't still MGE.

Second, he didn't plan to be turned into a girl. His original plan was the equivalent of a cybernetic super-werewolf on fucking nano-steroids, probably male or undefined not like he cared actually, that could fill the place of a Bolo in combat.

Third, women, even adorable ones, could exist even in fucking Bet without being treated like that.

....if you could be anything, you should be a dragon. That is the law. Werewolves (or the furry costume version of a wolf-boy) was never part of the deal.

So much angst and BS about his life, and that is the result?

[Foreign object detected. Purging---]

[Purging---]

[Purging impossible. Commencing assimilation]

[Assimilation successful. Resuming loading sequence]
I'm still very curious about this.

The Core should have been scanned and considered by Peter so it makes no sense for it to be considered a Foreign object, so what else could that be?

I mean he was bending the powerset granted to him by a werewolf/vampire universe to do a transhumanism. It's not terribly surprising that he accidentallied himself into a vampire werewolf.

The gender change could have been an interesting step if in the previous life Peter had been female or if they had been trans, since the whole point of Peters transhumanistic tendencies is that people should be allowed and encouraged to be what and who they want to be for as long as they want to be it. However with the complete lack of indication or build to it it feel as more of a quirky joke, seriously hoping it gets reversed before the gender dysphoria manages to pierce whatever cocktail of drugs Peters brain is swimming in right now.

To be honest, for a moment I thought maybe some residue Amy accidentally left behind might have been the problem. The Blade core bit makes more sense though.

Y'know I was kind of hoping expecting Peter to go full Mechanicus, embrace the certainty of steel and all that, maybe even do something like the rite of clear thought. I definitely didn't expect him to go full awoo. Not saying that's a bad thing, just... unexpected.

nah, that's pretty basic sunk cost fallacy. the time you've already spent shouldn't impact the decisions you make.

Poliamida, these chapters where actually great. I'm really glad and thankful you took the extra effort of planning and posting them at almost the same time.

I don't feel that Peter turning into a girl was in any way a deal breaker, considering that I think he mentioned in more than one occasion he would not mind being a girl, and several times that he wanted to change his whole body.

Though I do find it hilarious that you are still ending in kind of a cliffhanger of the other consecuences of this even after planning to release 3 chapters in a row.

XD

So um apparently I am the only one who checked the author's profile for gender after reading this? Because that sounded a lot like trans-depression and gender euphoria afterwards... Like this mindwipe thing is a common theme...

Is it wrong that I want Peter to pull out the big guns when he's apologizing to people. Just go the whole 9 yards with anime references. The uWu's and childish growls. The utter bafflement on Taylor's face.

Could be his idiocy. I really hope it is.

But we have several options here:

The Core: IMO not very likely, the Core is made of Khaidarin and probably Peter is full of it now.
The armor: After all he entered dressed with it.
His corona: If she didn't lose her power this could mean that she still has it or... her Glorious Evolution emulated it.

Well, he was saying that he was going to add a lot of Garou traits to the project. Peter was lucky that he didn't end as a drider with all that Ananasi on the mix. The thing is that WoD is that advanced that classical cybernetics aren't that necessary is you have nanites to emulate them (even better than the classical ones).
