Sorry for doubleposting, but I don't want to add a "kinda-sorta mikro-omake" to "normal" post.

- Hey, Missy?
- Yes, what's up? Everything fine?
- Yeah, we're alright. I just have to ask: may you, please, be sure your "unkle" and his comrades are really giving their full attention to search for Bakuda?
- What? Do she plans to do something terrible?
- No, nothing more than usual stuff, I think. I just don't want them to interfere while I'm destroing the Empire.
- WHA?!

Addy is able to fight these Nazis easily.

Fighting these Nazis without revealing that she is Splice may be much harder. How exactly is she going to explain this to the PRT? (And they will find out, unless she manages to hide all the bodies really quickly, *and* the PRT never tracks the Nazis there.)

If addie kills all the empire members there with some telekinesis to the brain (no mess to clean up) then what can the empire do about it? Cause if they go in with force then they will be very blatantly breaking the rules and that will set a bad precedent, and for some reason I have a feeling that addie will get codi to message max anders a picture of the bodies along with some threatening words going along the lines of "do it again and I'll release all of your empires id's"

Fighting these Nazis without revealing that she is Splice may be much harder
How? She don't have (and don't need, to be honest) any critters here. And PRT don't know anything about Splice beyond "can make biotinker's abominations with powers".
Well, someone might argue that Addy is a biotinker abomination with powers.
While true, I don't think PRT will see it. At least yet.

Given that (as far as I know) only Coil knows about her possible Tinkering abilities I kinda want to taught those Nazi goons with:
"So how does it feel to be a black guy's stooge?"
"What dare your chink mouth say?!"
"Well Coil is the only guy how knows I am a Tinkerer so there fo rgb the only reason you could have possibly know and came after me and my family is if that black bastard tipped you off because he was tired of getting his ass kicked by me. Ergo you are being used but him to soften me up. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have some mercenaries ready to take me after you failed to beat me. How does that feel I wonder to have your superiority be used like a common grunt by an inferior?"
Probably get Addy's jaw broke but it also be satisfying.

or Taylor could have some Zerg when the Starcraft specialty finally comes
I cannot wait till Addy starts messing with Zerg stuff. She'll get a couple protoss bits, but zerg stuff is more Addy's style.
Thankfully, Annette is very much a badass at the moment. And has super regeneration from her implants. So its unlikely she'll be killed unless they put a bullet in her brain.
Annette has the shield thing from bioshock infinite, so it'd actually take a couple bullets to the head to kill her. Gotta pop the shield first :D
Addy gets to learn the best thing about Nazis: You can do whatever you want to them and never have to feel guilty!
TBH it's the only good thing about Nazis. That and the occasional 'I did Nazi that coming' puns.
I've got some quips written for Addy that I can't wait for her to use. They will be glorious.
Speaking of this, is there any reason why Danny hasn't gotten on the power train? Or is it standard Worm "Only Women Can Be Interesting" type deal? Cause that's lame as hell
@Magus Zanin already answered to it, mostly. But I still want to add my five pence:
Because Addy's tonics and plasmids make anyone who drinks it adducted to ADAM. Taylor have a slug to mutigate it, and Annette been resurrected so she already adducted to ADAM, and "powers in bottles" wouldn't do it any worse.
But Danny don't adducted yet, and can't have a slug. And, apparently, don't want to be adducted... Yet. I suspect that he going to reconsider it after that event.
Yeah it's basically because he doesn't want to risk the whole addiction thing. He's not particularly happy Annette is addicted, but since it beats her being dead he ignores it. This leaves his options at either using the dressphere system or going for a critter control implant (along with his own Khanivore).
Huh, are we finally going somewhere? Neat.
To be fair, it seems Unders using random rolls in the background to decide things. So yeah, seems the dice finally came up snake eyes for certain events. Looking forward to the interlude.
You know, now when I thinked about it a little, I suspect they just was a stupidly (un)lucky. Like:
Unders rolled for "Someone notices a purchases" - Empire.
Roll for "how quickly they're find Addy" - Very high: they found her almost instantly.
Roll for "how much they learned about her" - Awful: they think she triggered a few days ago and don't even suspect she have any connections with other capes.
Yup, I roll for stuff a lot like how Koraan suggested. Also the last couple of chapters have been a bit downtime-y in general since Addy's still dealing with suddenly needing to be responsible (and showing she's being responsible) as well as getting used to having SImmy essentially on speed dial.
It's also why Sophia is still alive. That bitch has the weirdest damn luck. Gets in combat, gets ass handed to her but still somehow lives (or goes to pick fights in empire turf during high tension times and somehow doesn't find any cape fights).
Sophia why you so awkward? :jackiechan:
Well, she only just GOT FFX. And they can actually last up to 3 weeks. It hasn't even been a week yet. So might as well let her go nuts with it for another week. Wall Ring and Stone Blitzball are needed.
Her current spec runs out on 5th May if I'm remembering correctly. I have it in a document somewhere. She'll probably swap a little before then since once May hits she'll be like 'oh shit! Levi is almost here I gotta build stuff to kill him!', since like myself Addy is terrible at actually comprehending when impending important things are coming closer.
What plasmid did Annette pick?
My informational post Parahuman Puberty: Powers and You has a list of the assorted powers everyone has.
For people too lazy to look, her offensive stuff is Old Man Winter and Undertow, so basically ice and water powers.
Ready for the special guest?

The big watery special guest?
But Addy is too young for wet T-shirt contests! Luckily NulTide rings exist to save us all from such lewdness.
Anyway on a more interesting note, in canon Leviathan hits exactly on Vista's birthday. Talk about shitty birthday, your city ruined and your crush killed by an Endbringer.
I'm pretty sure they don't think this is Splice, but just a normal traditional techy tinker due all the electronics purchases the family has been making.
If they knew she was Splice they'd have gone for her while she was walking home from school or something and it would've been guns blazing with Hookwolf leading the charge. They're assuming fresh tinker with basically no gear.
But seriously: the rules are out the window at this point. By law (Self defence against armed intruder whom you can reasonably expect to use leathal force) and by rules (professing to attacking cape and capes family to force cape to comply, in capes home, out of cowl) Lethal force is now declared acceptable.

And as pointed out, Kreig is countered by Addy.
Laws seem to work weirdly in worm where capes are involved. I mean seriously almost all the villains in the city should've been gun down by the cops by now and the cops would be fully justified in doing so. So damn weird. The moment capes show up the kid gloves get put on. I blame Cauldron (because they're an easy scapegoat and it probably is their fault this time)
I'm honesty surprised talyor and mom haven't already ganked them.
This'll be shown why during the upcoming interlude. Still fine tuning it a little
Well this will be an interesting encounter and I am quite looking forward to it but I mainly wanted to point out how adorable Addy's shard is in those ivesitexts, really does remind me of an over affectionate puppy and I love it.
Reality Lens is Best Shard after all. Don't listen to QA when it tries to say differently.
I look forward to Aunt Rose unleashing her wild side from her Lustrum days. I can imagine her setting up stings for guys that will take advantage of women. Guy grabs a women, then a team of Lustrum gals jump out and nab him. You know what happened to those men? No? So does no one else.
If almost? losing Annette again won't motivate Danny to get powers, then nothing will.
Well QA did jump ship from him, so parahuman powers for him aren't really in the cards at the moment.
I kinda want addie to let herself be kidnapped under the condition that they leave rose alone, they comply, the next day missy and co shit themselves cause they were talking about the ABB kidnapping people and planting bombs in them the other day, all while addie is using the empires resources to build sin...
If Annette wasn't there Addy might've gone along with it, since she's bullshit enough to be able to escape all sorts of shit. Especially with Possession being able to override all sorts of things in addition to mastering people.
I was expecting it to be ABB goons about to abduct her off the street and she would let it happen out of shits and giggles. Instead...
The roll for her being grabbed while walking home was so damn close. Would've been hilarious since after she escapes she'd go home and find out Nazis also wanted to kidnap her.
One thing that would be very amusing is if Addy were to make a idle drawing of Sin destroying a nondescript city with a whole bunch of capes trying to stop it in the background and to have Missy then proceed to see and take a photo of said drawing and send it to the PRT.

I don't think I have to tell you that the PRT would probably assume Sin to another Endbringer.

For real the freakout would be glorious.
This is going to reinforce the PRT's/ Protectorate's belief that Addy is a Precog isn't it?

After all, Addy "predicted" that Shadow Stalker was going to die and she nearly did!
It gets even better now since the predicted chance of Shadow Stalker now being killed is really low, so that must obviously have been the event Addy was warning them about (and is definitely not because Addy's given up her murder plans for the moment because she wants to get ungrounded).
Why would she? She totally can kick Levi's ass if he came here with her awesome tech and critters! And she have plenty of time to prepare to boot! Yes, that was The Sarcasm.
Amusingly enough she's got stuff in the X/X-2 tree that lets her put some serious hurt on Leviathan. She doesn't really realise this yet, since she's been trying to make herself into a magical girl.
Missy thinks she just got another precog prediction from Addy about Bakuda. Piggot is going to have a stroke about their civilian bombs thing.
Addy is kinda bad at remembering that she shouldn't be throwing meta knowledge out willy nilly. Missy on the other hand was making an important call to Piggot the moment she got a free chance to do so.
I actually love the whole precog misconception thing. Especially because Addy isn't lying now and actually does have a precog 'friend'.
Lazer rifle, psi attack, master power... Non of it kinetic. Kreig has very little defence against Addy
Codi has the rifle with her, but yes to the other stuff. Addy hard counters Krieg so much.
It's amusing too since I didn't put him there to get roflstomped by her. My idea was putting myself in Kaiser's shoes and then trying to figure out which cape would be a good choice to send to try recruit a tinker. The only real options were Krieg or Victor, and since Victor is dead it defaulted to Krieg. Imagine Hookwolf trying to handle recruitment. *shudders*
Of course Addy would adore Mr. "I have a shelf of doomsday weapons.
He is a great rolemodel.
Why do I have a feeling that one of the Nazis will have a bit of a trigger finger and when Taylor gets back she'll find addie cleaning bits of herself off the wall with rose?
Well if Addy got shot it'd probably just involve cleaning up a little bit of blood, and that's assuming the bullet passes through her without getting stuck. Her regent is bullshit levels strong (and the reason in-game Little Sisters take like no damage even if you pump all your ammo into them)
So... do we interpret this as she can't actually hide her glee, and Missy interprets it as her being happy that Shadow Stalker managed to survive at all?
Yes :p
Not impossible, my current guess about simmies plan now is that she wants addy to blast scion to pieces and help her become the new entity in charge of shardspace.
Simmy has a bunch of plans for Addy, possibly killing Scion is just one of them.

Yeah, this one actually is their fault to some extent. Cauldron wants as many capes alive as possible to have Options when it comes to Scion (and later the Endbringers), in hopes of getting that Silver Bullet Power between both vial capes and natural triggers. Because of that, they used the Path to Victory to manipulate cape culture in Earth Bet such that Capes are generally treated with the kids gloves; PRT/Protectorate is meant to go mostly non-lethal, contrary to fanon cape fights are lot more posturing than serious attempts by villains to kill each other (some exceptions of course - Oni Lee, Hookwolf, Lung are all the types who don't give a shit). It's also probably why the Birdcage even exists, rather than the death penalty happening for some capes - Cauldron will eventually be able to crack open the cage and bring out old, powerful capes to fight who got caught rather than them being buried six feet underground, and that's exactly what does happen in canon when everything goes to shit - a number of the leadership members of the Birdcage are let out to play, and then Khepri beats up Dragon and steals the rest in the finale.

This right here and that Wildbow wanted his cake and to eat it too in that he wanted most capes to not have brute powers like durability or regeneration but also didn't want the realistic consequences being that they could easily be killed so had to have the breathing plot device Contessa and the Illuminati Cauldron also manipulate U.S. culture to the point where America somehow has stricter gun laws in a world of superpowered villains and mass murdering psychopaths than our own world.

Funny thing about that: It actually is high-stakes cops and robbers, just like Lisa says . . . only E88 and ABB are two groups that don't play that way, because Cauldron is hands off in Brockton pay as part of the experiment in post-Cauldron cape feudalism.

Well, not exactly? What Wildbow did for Worm was try to work backwards to "how would, realistically, you get a more real world based super hero setting that still worked a lot like how these settings work in comics?" So you get answers to questions that people bring up about comic superhero settings.

How come nobody just tracks down these villains and grabs them in their homes the minute they commit a crime? Unwritten rules, we don't want to provoke all the villains into going full throttle because they don't have anywhere safe to go after a day of villainy, and these rules tend to get ignored when people think they can get away with it.

Why don't villains with a body count just get shot by the cops like normal criminals tend to be? Social constructs, Cauldron/society needs capes alive to combat Scion/The Endbringers.

And so on. I don't think he did everything perfectly, mind you, there's aspects like how the more WoG comes out, the more Jack feels like an Author's Pet Villain or how Contessa feels like a stopgap to plug any potential arguements against the setting up with "Path to Victory end of conversation", but overall he did a fairly good job of making a pre-apocolyptic superhero setting that's slowly spiraling out of control, but still recognizably a superhero setting.

It's less about gun laws than a cultural response to "the best I can do is get out of here". So your are kind of trained to believe that going for a gun against a cape is a losing proposition, at least compared to running.

And of course, the serious gangs are organized crime. Guns don't stop the normal mafia, they aren't going to stop the superpowered one.

So, most likely reaction to home invasion?

Addy: "Hey! Nazi scum? Which one of you has the keys to the van? You? Okay, you die last. Sorry Auntie, but everyone needs to die, I will rez you later."

Addy: "Murder of Crows for EVERYONE!"

Will Addy keep the Nazi van as spoils or be scoulded to get rid of it, as they do not know what it was used for?

Will they need to move to a new house?

I just imagined them owning & fixing up an Apt building...

Edit: If Addy makes the Songstress Dresssphere, is that considered a Master or Shaker?

Edit2: There is a Psychic Dresssphere, with Sailor Seifuku...

Taylor is going to escalate like hell in retaliation and nobody will be able to stop her. She will have to make a public example out of Krieg and his goons. That's the only way to ensure the everyone know the consequences of breaking the unwritten rules, especially against her.

Anyway on a more interesting note, in canon Leviathan hits exactly on Vista's birthday. Talk about shitty birthday, your city ruined and your crush killed by an Endbringer.

I mean, Addy does like her blonde minion so imagine if she came up to her and said, "Missy, get Dean out of the city"(especially as she shouldn't even know that Missy even knows a Dean AND Addy has already proven that she has a precog friend), I think that Missy would listen. Even more importantly, having circumstantial evidence that the friendly precog can predict Endbringers after the fact, all sorts of interesting things could come about.

However, this would necessitate Cauldron looking deeper but I'm sure that Simmie could figure something out to keep them out of Addy's hair... Oh look, I'm now treating The Muther Ducking Simurgh as a crack version in my head. Addy's brand of insanity is apparently contagious. I apparently have to keep reminding myself that this actually isn't that type of story regardless of how entertaining it is becoming.

@Unders You are creating something special with this story.

Addy: My precog friend said that you'll be recieving a giant fish as a birthday gift.

Missy: what?

Addy: you know, big, lives underwater, bipedal....its a giant fish.

Missy: WHAT DO YOU MEAN BIPEDAL?!

Missy: what?

Addy: you know, big, lives underwater....its a giant fish.

Missy: ....

Missy: does it use splash?

Addie: Yeah, it's it's favourite move! Alongside tail whip...

Missy: oh shit!

Addie: and make sure you tell Colin not to use the emp just so he can solo it! And that unless you damage the core all damage will be cosmetic!

Addy: it also spams surf, a lot.

Missy: goddammit

Missy: so, is there anything we can do to defeat it?

Addie: depends on whether flechette can overlay her power on top of another... or if you could convince sibby to rip and tear it apart...

Missy: who's that?

Addie: flechette is a ward I personally ship with parian, her power is called sting and in its basics negates any and all forms of defense, the only real way of getting around it is not getting hit, and the sibby is a projection produced by that manton guy!

Missy: ...

Addie: but don't actually use these tactics cause they are holding back and aren't really manton limited! Plus we need them on our side for the next big bad!

Missy: what is this, a shounen anime!

Edit: If Addy makes the Songstress Dresssphere, is that considered a Master or Shaker?
oh, finally questions I can answer. Songstress is one of the few spheres I almost completed before the first mission in besaid. The user can blind, slow down, speed up, raise the strength of allies and power of magic and make sure any blows landed on an enemy for a time will always be either lethal or deadly. Full shaker as there is no master abilities or spells in there.
And I'm just telling this from my memories. But yeah, full shaker, heck Shaker/Trump due to the Songs apart from the Dances

The van makes me think about Addy claiming it so she can have a car before Taylor, only to realize that she can't drive, but Taylor can.
