Green Sun, Black Shadows (CG/Exalted)

Malefactor: Cecelyne/???

Well, the laws of Cecelyne say that the strong shall rule the weak, soo... s/he may be basically anybody that buys the Emperor social darwism BS. Which is a lot of nobles. The Emperor himself fits, but i doubt he would fail in anything important enough to Exalt.

Scourge: Adorjan/???

Rolo and Mao fit at least the Yandere part here.

Fun fact, Charles doesn't actually believe in social Darwinism. You can make an argument that between him and Marianne, he's actually the one who cared more about Lelouch and Nunnally.

Marianne might've cared more before she went crazy thanks to her geass.

but yeah Lelouch and Nunnally are probably the only ones out of all his children that Charles actually liked and cared for.

I made modifications to my last post because I missed something. Please re-read.

I found two more Oramus First Excellencies. For the sake of fair play please vote for the one you want to use in this quest:

[] 1 - The current one.
The Dragon Beyond The World is beyond comprehension and enigmatic, old beyond all others. He keeps his wisdom to himself and disregards conventions. The Ourobouros Border of Reality is the ultimate boundary and defines possibility, encircling that which is. He is at home with paradox and mocks dualities. His crazed nightmares are wondrous and contain disturbing beauty along with insanity-sparking revelations.
The Infinite Doorway to All Terrors is alien and eccentric, creating beautiful and maddening artwork, the Stranger in the Pallid Mask serving as a source of limitless inspiration and impossible genius that defies the odds, for he sees what others cannot. The Final Shore of Comprehension is a doorway to terror and knowledge best left unspoken, for the truths of Oramus are not for others to know. There is no force that can stay or bind the Inverted Firmament of Crazed Stars save himself, for he is more real than any other thing.
The seven wings he bears beat and fan the tides of Chaos, yet Oramus is not of the Wyld -- his origin can never be known for he defies definition, laughing at the shinma and existing everywhere in some form, the horror and madness he drags around himself and carries in his unparalleled artworks a source of wisdom best unsought for.

This Excellency may always be used for any action associated in any way with the number seven or its multiples, any action which defies conventions, or in the production of artwork. It may not be used under coercion -- Oramus is his own creature and disregards hierarchies.

[] 2 - Second possibility.
The Dragon Beyond the World is primeval and otherworldly. He is the Stranger, always outside and on the fringe. His seven wings encompass all reality, which places him beyond the familiar realm of everyday life and into a nebulous arrangement of unrealized potential. He casually disregards the natural order. Indeed, he abhors the mundane and trivial. He crosses boundaries and ignores distinctions, even though he defines all things by contrast with himself. Such is the contradictory nature of Oramus; he has always been anomalous ever since the Primordials first emerged into the Wyld. Though Cytherea was firstborn of the Primordial, she awoke to find Oramus preceding and anticipating her arrival, already ancient beyond reckoning. Oramus himself is of two minds regarding this paradox, both of which are equally incomprehensible.

This Charm may be used on any game of chance, creating the illusion that character is preternaturally lucky rather than the master of controlled chaos. It may also be used to defy known expectations of his behavior but cannot be used to enhance any action which he does not willingly perform, such as if he were coerced by an unnatural mental influence, or an action dictated by an oath, contract, or other agreement unless the character exploits some loophole to violate the intent of such restrictions.

[] 3 - Third possibility.
The Dragon Beyond the World is alien and unknowable. Existing beyond reality, he disregards natural order, adhering to older laws and enigmatic principles only he knows. He simultaneously defines and transcends all boundaries, he shatters expectations and ignores conventions, even as he seals away unknowable realities within his body. He defines all things by contrast with himself, and lives on the border of possibility, looking both into and out of existence. The Worm that Digs Through Time is older than existence, and possesses wisdom commensurate, an impossible genius that defies all odds and finds solutions none thought possible. The Sevenfold Peacock is an artist without parallel, expressing his inspiration in eye-watering images and tales that drive men mad. Though a being of Order, the Galleon Atop the Waves of Madness holds within his belly the Essence of the Wyld, and delights in the discovery of new and exciting anomalies, the tang of mystery and the texture of uniqueness. He is horror personified, his presence snapping minds and bringing nightmares unspeakable.

This Excellency may be used in any action which defies conventions; Oramus adores rebellion. It may also be used to enhance any action associated, however abstractly, with the number seven. It may not be used on any action in which the Infernal displays doubts; all who've spoken with the Infinite Doorway at Saigoth's Dawn know of his desperate faith, and he hides all doubts in dark places. Finally, this Charm may be used to enhance prayer rolls, given that they are not directed at gods; Oramus shuns Creation's corrupt deities.

[X] 3 - Third possibility.

I think this fits best without being too much of a change, but is more flexible than the current one.

I find it curious you have the Greater Imperfection of Oramus listed here. From what has been seen of primordials so far only the actual primordial themselves possess the Greater Imperfection. The only way I can see it applying to Lulu is if he started taking E6+ Oramus charms.

Also, I'm currently brainstorming ideas for Oramus/ED charms, both Heretical and not. The fact that a champion of Oramus posseses a charm specifically made for escaping things fills me with mad laughter at the possibilities.

Edit: I can't decide whether I like #1 or 2 better. #3 seems too much like TED

[X] 3 - Third possibility.

I second the confusion at listing the Greater Imperfection. We will never get there, so what is the point? Even if we ever reach elder essence, we'd never follow that path anyway.

[X] 1- The current one

Being a rebel is a little too much like the Ebon Dragon, we need some more use of this excellency than that.

They're already Exalted. But only two visited Malfeas so far, and only one beyond the strictly amount of time required. There are currently some problems organizing the "Thing Infernal" into a proper ruling body.

Ok, so we're the last to the party, but we aren't the only recent Exalts. The question is then how long ago did the 'oldest' ones Exalt.

I also imagine that now that they've got all five castes available that the Yozis will call for an all-hands meeting.

About that, I really need a better name for that. Chapter 1 and 2 of Infernal manual obviously ignored, it's my hope and desire to portray the Demon Realm and GSPs not as evil, but as just a different alternative/interpretation.

I pretty much assumed that you would - the vast majority of people do ignore it to some extent or another.

As far as the name, just call it the Reclamation. The name can refer both to the effort and the leadership.

Here's the current List:

Slayer: Malfeas/Isidoros
Malefactor: Cecelyne/???
Defiler: SWLiHN/Cytherea
Scourge: Adorjan/???
Fiend: Ebon Dragon/Oramus (our Lulu)

It's my current hope to somehow fit Szoreny, Hegra and/or Elloge in the last two missing posts. Well there is also Kimberly, but...

Got any idea?

Adjoran/Hegra would be a good combo. A wind of love and crazy combined with a storm of chaos and drugs. Lotta synergy there. I could see Milly in this position, actually, but mainly as a social build of this due to her love of sudden crazy parties, though I wouldn't venture to guess when she'd have a chance to Exalt.

Cecelyne/Elloge would probably have some synergy there, as you'd have an eloquent priest who could build up a cult to large levels. Sumeragi Kaguya might be well suited for this one.

Though the other way around could be interesting as well. A Heretical Charm that adds a drug effect to Locust Mana Plague could be hilarious.

Like I said, houserule:
To offset that to get another Yozi's First Excellency and relative Charm you need to go to Malfeas, enter in communication with said Yozi and successfully convince it to open its Charmset. Minimum time is a full scene.

Simply put, I decided to go for narrative difficulty to compensate the removed mechanically difficulty.

Oh, well that's great. Don't have to worry so much about the XP, just have to convince one of the bosses to open up.

The ones I'm interested in for Lelouch at the moment are Malfeas and Cecelyne.

Malfeas would probably be easy enough to convince - our rightful authority was taken from us, and we intend to burn Britannia to ash for it and create a proper empire that worships the Yozis. Might help if we invented some unique dance as well, as the dude has a secret love of dance.

Cecelyne might take some doing. She could very well be down for Britannia's social Darwinism. We could try to convince her that they're doing the whole 'the strong rule the weak' thing wrong though - the aristocracy props up a bunch of weak, incompetent buffoons and gives them authority over those who should be in charge of them instead. Just look at Hell. Demons are given Peer status based on their actual strength and ability, not because someone in power happened to birth them. Mind you, Cecelyne is also big on hypocrisy, so that may or may not fly.

That's good, save for the "Unnatural Mental Influence to force an individual to make direct eye contact": said character must have a way to resist it. Also, it's a social attack or a Shaping effect? I need a dice pool for roll-offs. A second opinion would also be appreciated, or finding a similar effect for reference.

I kind of assumed there's a generic resist for Unnatural Mental Influence when not stated otherwise. 1 Willpower, I guess? Also, I'd consider it a social effect given that one of the Charms that this one is built off of isn't Shaping, but that's just me.

How about "Dual Gaze Paradox" for a name? Playing on the fact Oramus in his Excellency mock duality, so he can be both of Creation and outside of it at the same time.

I think that works - the Infernal is opening their vision to that Which Is, but at the same time they are making it so that others can see impossible colors that are part of What Is Not.

DUAL GAZE PARADOX
Cost: -; Mins: Essence 3; Type: Permanent
Keywords: Emotion
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: What Is and What Should Never Be, Beautiful In My Way

The Dragon Beyond the World sees both Creation and the Impossible at once, his paradoxical and vast being allowing him to suffer no ill effect from that Which Is and What Is Not without fail. Upon purchasing this Charm the Infernal expands her sight to gaze upon all that Which Is and that Which Is Not without distraction. This removes the perception penalty while in Creation from What Is and What Should Never Be.

However, by opening her sight to What Is the warlock opens a portal for others to see What Is Not, her eyes shining with a kaleidoscope of 7,777,777 impossible colors. The effect is only Obvious when one looks the Infernal directly in the eyes. Doing so ensnares the watcher, making it difficult to look away. The affected character builds an Intimacy of obsession toward the Infernal, unless they reflexively spend one Willpower to avert their gaze. Characters who have conflicting Intimacies that would interfere with this process find those feelings weakened. For one full day afterwards, any Intimacy built or attacked can't be lessened or rebuilt, respectively. After a day, the Intimacies may be affected normally.

If the Infernal spends willpower to not cause the effect of Beautiful In My Way on a given character it also applies to the effect of this Charm.

A repurchase at Essence 4 allows the warlock to reflexively roll (Perception + Awareness) die plus (Essence) successes to pierce through magical disguises, for he sees that Which Is and that Which Can Not Be. At Essence 5 the warlock may spend three motes to cause an Unnatural Mental Influence to force an individual to make direct eye contact. The victim may be resist this compulsion by reflexively spending one Willpower.

That work?

I also need a date for Shinjuku's battle. Day and month. A precise calendar is important for the quest. Who can help me there?

There aren't really much in the way of exact dates for the series. August 10th, 2010, a.t.b. is the date in which Brittania begins the invasion of Japan, which lasts for about a month. The series starts seven years later, with the first season being from August to September 2017, a.t.b. (honestly given all that happened I find that timeline a bit too short, but that's just my opinion).

I think having the battle today being August 10th, 2017, a.t.b. would be thematically appropriate - Oramus chooses his champion seven years to the day from the date in which Japan was conquered, choosing someone who would most likely work towards taking it away from Brittannia's hands to mock them.

Lelouch's Cult (Yozi) Background means that in Japan there is at least a Yozi Cult with a good enough number of people (something that Britannia's policy made all the easier to breed). Ideas to define them are welcome.

Well, Yozi cults are pretty varied. I could see a group of Japanese people having felt the kami abandoned them and they're looking for something else. They could be a group that worships all the Yozis given that Japanese religion is extremely polytheistic. Then again, many Yozi cults are dedicated to only one, so some ideas for that...

Hegra - What happened to Japan is a nightmare their people are living every day, and so they appeal to a being of nightmares to help them. Might have a severe problem with Refrain, being a bunch of druggies who want to get high.
Cecylne - A group of honorary Britannians have embraced the rule of the strong philosophy of their conquerors, but they can't get ahead because the system doesn't actually reward merit when you're not the right race.
Oramus - A group recognizes that overthrowing Britannian rule is impossible, but perhaps a being that rules over the impossible could save them...

Plenty of other directions to go, but ultimately we would want to make the cult worship Oramus, either adding him to their pantheon or usurping whoever else it is they worship.

Last question: Lelouch's appearance as Infernal after fusing with Seyrun? Quick reminder: he's an Anuhles. All it's certain of its appearance is black and green fur with some patches of white near the head and seven pupiless red eyes, the eighth white and blind from a scar.

I honestly wouldn't go too far with the changes. The extent is generally random, so it's not like Lelouch needs to become very demonic looking. Too far or too noticeable and Lelouch's social life would force us to use Loom-Snarling Deception to keep him at Ashford Academy, which means we wouldn't have interesting Charms like Beautiful In My Way active to possibly affect people there and where's the goddamn fun in that?

One thing to go with might be the scar - not the blindness or the white eye, but just a scar over one of his eyes. It would have to look good on him due to Appearance 5 and the fact that the Exaltation removes imperfections, but it would be thematically appropriate if Lelouch was somehow made more attractive by something normally considered a blemish because it is a bit of a paradox. Lelouch could play it off as something that happened when he got caught up in the Shinjuku incident easily enough.

If you wanted to go further I'd suggest something subtle that isn't always visible, maybe a green sheen to his hair this is only visible in a certain light, or his eye color appears more red than purple when it's dark.

I think in terms of pure easy to use, the second option is the best. Just do things unconventionally and it will always proc. The third option is more about being a horrible monster. The first is just fluff.

[x] 2 - Second possibility.

Only the first actually lists it's benefits. Do the others act differently, or are they just different ways for the excellency to proc?

Given the main mechanical differences between the first and third are the exceptions of coercion vs doubt and applicability to art versus prayer, why not simply add art to the third excellency? The descriptors of Oramus are fairly similar thematically in both, and both note his abilities as an artist as fairly central to this concept. Plus doubt is a far more compelling issue for Lelouch than coercion, and actually stands to have some impact during the course of this story.

Try to avoid fancy concept instead focus on ease of use. Art isn't going to be much use to a general beyond a single stunt.

If anything, TED excellency is actually the best for what lulu wants to do.

[X] 1 - The current one.

If Lelouch becomes Zero, we're going to need the focus on art. I mean, he creates Zero's costume, the Black Knights uniform, he does his own speech writing, and most of his actions count as acting in some way. According to the wiki, Lelouch is good at cooking and sewing so it also fits his obsession with Nunnally as he cooks for the two of them.

Note that 3 supports any act of rebellion. Speeches to inflame the masses are an act of rebellion. Anti-Britania writings are a form of rebellion.

Really, in general, Yozi excellencies are so broad that is really, really easy to find a way to applicate them with an appropiate stunt. The number 7 thing alone can be used for almost anything.
