Green Sun, Black Shadows (CG/Exalted)

Quick question, did the GM say whether or not we would be picking the rest of our charms or are we getting them though the actions we undertake here?

Right, time to save Kallen, cause she's the only useful one and the rest are traitorous assholes. ... Okay, Ohgi's good middle-management I think, but other than that, they're just bodies to throw at a problem.

Not to mention, for Kallen, love interest and bunny suit. We must save her! :V You are now imagining Ohgi in a bunny-girl suit.

Yeah, whatever. Frankly I doubt by now that you're going to change or adapt your vote either way.

I've stated I will make changes if the GM clarifies things in a direction that will allow me to do so. You don't need to doubt I'll make changes. I do so all the time when new info is given to me in other quests.

So, you're calling *me* out for using meta-knowledge as part of my reasoning to send some of our demon minions to spy on the Britannian field headquarters, but then turn around and want to use a plan that depends *entirely* on meta-knowledge both in IC-justification and execution to steal the Lancelot in this battle?
Wow. That is a humongous pile of A-grade hypocritical bullshit.

I suppose it is using meta-knowledge, but there are ways to gain knowledge that Suzaku white knights in character. (for instance him saving the civilian in the middle of the battle in canon) However, even if Suzaku wasn't the pilot or he somehow didn't fall for the deception we wouldn't necessarily need to succeed fully in a social attack, but just cause enough hesitation to give time for the demons to do their work.

Hell, we wouldn't even have to do it during the middle of battle, we could just do it after dealing with Clovis. (who we should totally force to take oaths of obedience and loyalty to us - yay for being a Fiend) That might even really be better, since we could take the Lancelot in a much quieter fashion.

And that doesn't even go into the large holes in that plan you apparently feel no reason to actually address. Yeah, whatever.

Everything being discussed regarding the capture of the Lancelot right now is rather preliminary. We may not even have to go about trying to deceive him depending on how things go. Until we get through the initial scene any greater planning we do might be moot, so I'm largely spitballing here. We can address issues in greater detail once we have a better idea of how the situation ends up. For now how about we just drop it and deal with the situation at hand.

-[x] STUNT: Klchrkitnirchek patiently made her way along the wall of a building, stalking a lone not-Warstrider to kill its pilot as their new Master had ordered. An opportunity presented itself when the machine paused to gun down a group of fleeing mortals, and with a mighty push of her legs she propelled herself forward, into and then through the metal surrounding the not-Warstrider's pilot chamber. Shimmering as she took on a physical form, the pilot only had time for his eyes to widen in terror before her fangs pierced the sides of his neck. Within second, her potent Essence-venom liquified his insides, which she eagerly drank, finishing her work by devouring the remaining skin and cloth, before shedding her physical form, and leaving to report to their Master.

At 127 words this is likely too long for a stunt. Like I said, most GMs limit it to 60 words in the Exlated quests I've played in order to prevent stunts from getting too long, and it would be best to wait for the GM to give us his rules.

Quick question, did the GM say whether or not we would be picking the rest of our charms or are we getting them though the actions we undertake here?

No he did not. Based on him saying we wouldn't have Witness to Darkness to start off with, I'm presuming he's the one generating the character based on our choice of patron Yozi and the Fiend caste we've apparently got.

I've stated I will make changes if the GM clarifies things in a direction that will allow me to do so. You don't need to doubt I'll make changes. I do so all the time when new info is given to me in other quests.
Considering that the changes I want - some Anuhles tasked with spying on Clovis and his HQ and staff - have little to do with whether the write-up is a stunt or strategy, I frankly doubt that you are going to actually make that change, regardless of what Alexander's answer is or what you're saying here.

Or, when the Lancelot arrives on the field, we could just withdraw all remaining assets we have (aside from our demon minions), and let them have the field, as opposed to try and talk to the pilot with no real in-character justification, or hope that the same canon events happen and we are able to witness them.
Plus, y'know, the whole issue where people can just shell out some WP in order to utterly ignore social attacks/influence for the rest of the scene.

Honestly, I don't particularly care. If it's too long, Alexander is free to discard it. The main point of my vote is to adjust the strategy and deployment of our demon minions, to give us more long-term benefits via superior intelligence gathering.
I doubt my vote will win, considering how many people already bandwagoned onto yours, but given how unwilling you are to accomodate me in this matter, I don't exactly have all that much choice.

If I have the room to put it in (can have long strategy, but then a shorter stunt) I will - your current way of doing it (sending them after we get the Knightmares as opposed to the earlier suggestion to send them to the command center immediately) is workable.

The Character Sheet is up! With all the Charms too!

...Granted, you still have the right to change and/or modify things, but you will need to provide a good argument for the why.

Lulu, is Suzaku there?
Lelouch: "I left his body in the hangar the camion crashed into, before escaping through the subway with the girl. I may walk back to it, but it would take 25-30 minutes."

I would have to entirely rewrite the stunt for that as it's a very different strategy than helping the terrorists. I'm presuming the GM is enforcing a word limit on stunts (generally 60 words in quests I've been in), though @Alexander89 says otherwise. In Exalted quests you can't really make long, detailed plans due to the stunt system - you pick from the available options, write stunts for them, and
Yes there is a limit, but it's not 60, where 61 is already not valid. Everything that it isn't overly long is okay.

That aside, remember that two-dice Stunt requires both to be in character and describe the environment. This mean, Enjou, that your Stunt is one-die

Strategy =/= stunt. Outlining that you want a group of 7 spiders to go around stealing knightmare frames is not a stunt, its declaring your action/intentions to the GM, little different from saying "I try to hit him with my sword".
A stunt is actually describing the action, such as writing a short paragraph of how one of the spiders jumps down onto a knightmare frame from a roof, phasing through the armor until it lands in the cockpit and rips the pilot apart.
Yeah, that would warrant a two-die Stunt, but only if Lelouch command the spider, even with only a gesture, while he can see the knightmare.

This means the second group could easily start making their way to the Britannian command center to start observation. Even if they don't have long-distance communication charms (which isn't necessarily a given), we can still make use of their observations later. Or even let some of them hang around so we can keep spying on Clovis. Invisible, intangible spies are really, really handy.
You will not be able to communicate with those demons. They will be left on their own devices.

The GM says it works as written, so I don't really need to change it to make it more 'stunty'. I'm generally presuming that the GM is handling this quest like Gromwell runs Alchemical Solutions unless he says otherwise.
Nope, because I never followed it.

Also, one thing you need to understand about the demons and their intangibility is that it isn't free. They can go intangible at any time for free, but becoming tangible again requires the use of a specific charm that costs quite a bit of motes. I'm presuming they can only seize one Knightmare each within a reasonable timeframe, so we'll get 14 Knightmares out of the deal at most. Too many less than that and we won't have many viable resources.
Correct.

I'm aware that they give bonuses. The GM said what is written works, unless he didn't mean as a stunt but only as a strategy. @Alexander89, can you clarify?
It is a strategy that works as a stunt by the virtue of being more than "I send out my units", but as it is now it's only one-die.
I come bearing STUNTS!
That took forever. Also I'm rusty as hell.

[X] Maybe there is a fourth option?
-[X] Some would say that reversing this situation is impossible, but you are no longer bound by mere impossibility. You are Lelouch vi Britannia, and you will change the very conventions of warfare.
-[X] In a grand sweeping gesture, you direct spiders to fan out in seven pairs, dispersing as phantoms through the rubble, to ambush and liberate a Knightmare each. The giants of steel robbed of their hearts and minds as the spiders pounce upon the pilot
-[X] As they depart, you head for Clovis's command with the remaining six spiders following from concealment, a messenger with an urgent message. Blood stains your soldier's garb as you reach his guards, warning them of rebels in close pursuit, even as the lights sway from the shock of crashing Knightmares. Clovis awaits his final message, alone in the center of his power. Your face becomes his own, even as the spiders take him...
With this you choose to not help the terrorist. Also it doesn't trigger the Oramus Excellency, and I will need to stop the update before actually meeting Clovis.

Was I clear with my explanations?

@Alexander89 - will this work for a two die stunt, or is it too long?

[] Help the terrorists
-[] Strategy: Some would say that reversing this situation is impossible, but you are no longer bound by mere impossibility. You are Lelouch vi Britannia, and you will change the very conventions of warfare. You send two groups of seven each of your spidery minions to begin seizing Knightmares from their Britannian pilots, a gift to the terrorists so they may fight. Once one group has seized their Knightmare frames you send them to observe the enemy command center to gather information and to report back to you anything they have found.
-[] Stunt: "We have you now, Elevens!" The pilot of the Sutherland states, his and his companions' guns leveling themselves on the helpless terrorists. Now though, you spring your trap. From the shadows, your own Knightmare gestures for your minions to attack. Screams can be heard from the Britannian soldiers as demons slay and devour them. You radio the terrorists, instructing them to get in the now open cockpits, your minions nowhere to be seen. The redhead is the first to get over her shock, taking a Sutherland and asking you what to do next.

This is a two-die stunt and enough to trigger First Oramus Excellency.

-[x] Task 14 of our Anuhle with eliminating the pilots of isolated Britannian Knightmares, and relay their positions to the terrorists. Afterwards, direct 7 of those Anuhle to make their way to Clovis' headquarters and begin to spy on it and any of the important-seeming people there, relaying information directly to you if possible, or simply gathering it for later if not.

@UberJJK, @Doomsough, @ScrewFate, @Sydonai, @Walker of the Yellow Path, @Zaratustra - you may want to update your votes to the new version, since it gives a better bonus and also uses our minions to gather info of the enemy command center.

Ok, looking over our sheet now that it appears all the Charms were added...

Motivation: To create a peaceful world from the ashes of Britannia
Urge: Forge a new empire greater and more unique than Britannia (Oramaic)

You know, it's a great thing when one's Urge and Motivation align. Creating a greater empire shouldn't be too difficult, and well, making one more unique shouldn't be a problem. Bunny girls and cat girls everywhere!

Strength: OO
Dexterity: OOO
Stamina: OO

Honestly, given how bad Lelouch's physical stats are in canon I'm not sure if his Exaltation might not have improved him or not given two dots for Strength and Stamina. Lelouch isn't really in poor health or anything, but even a short run wears him out.

Appearance: OOOOO

Hmmm, Lelouch is only Appearance 3 before his charm adds to it. I would have expected four dots given how every girl in school seems to have the hots for him. Doesn't effectively matter though, given we've got the Charm that brings us up to five dots.

-Intelligence: OOOO
and
-War: OOOO
Britannia (War): OO
Tactical Instincts

Not unexpected. We'll want to invest in that last dot for each though. We'll be up against Schneizel eventually, after all.

Charisma: OOO
Manipulation: OOOO
-Performance: OOO
-Presence: OOOO
Nobility (Socialize): OO
Mantle of Kings: The character gains a two-die bonus on all rolls associated with leadership.
Silver Tongue: The character gains a two-die bonus to all Manipulation rolls based on deliberate deception.

Lelouch has quite a good social build going.

-Ride/Drive: O
Knightmare Frames (Drive): O

Well, it's a good thing that our Ride/Drive is one of our preferred Abilities, because we'll want to get this up high so we can actually compete with the likes of Suzaku and other elites. And quite fortunately we're actually capable of it given our status as an Exalted.

Obsession: Nunnally. You react positively to anything related to her, even if it isn't in your best interest.

Oh, Lelouch... never change. :p

Cult (Yozi): O

Well, well, well. Looks like we've got a small Yozi cult at our disposal. That should be useful.

Unwoven Coadjutor (Seyrun): OOOO

The dude living in our head is quite competent and useful. That's always a plus.

Intimacies:
Nunnally (Positive)
Suzaku (Positive)
Your mother's death (Negative)
Britannia (Negative)
Emperor Charles (Negative)

Hmm, well, I think we'll need some more apt descriptions for the intimacies. Maybe... Nunnally (Familial(?) Love, Obsession), Suzaku (Friendship, Exasperation), Your mother's death (Trauma), Brittania (Hate, Disgust), Emperor Charles (Hate, Disgust). I had to include that question mark for the lulz, given Lelouch's siscon status.

For our Charm set it looks pretty good. I'm not keen on the penalty for What Is And What Should Never Be, but we're not likely to go above Essence 5 in this quest so we'll just need to increase our Perception and Awareness to compensate, and once you're at Essence 6+ you can go beyond six dots so it's not like it's totally crippling. Also the charms that come after it seem pretty useful.

I'm using this, so right now Seyrun is cancelling out the penalty, but only until Lelouch remain Essence 2. Also, even entering a Bordermarch makes the penalty disappears because it's not strictly "Creation".

Oh, right, forgot our buddy will cancel out part of the problem. That's helpful. Even so, we'll want to eventually increase Perception and Awareness since I expect we'll be in Creation for a good deal of the time.

This is a two-die stunt and enough to trigger First Oramus Excellency.
Hey, are we suffering from the greater imperfection of the dragon beyond the world right now? Because that effectively makes us really weak against anything nonmagical (or that we haven't driven to some form if madness using that nightmare charm).

Hm...I will admit that the aligning urge/motivation is wonderful.

Also that act of villainy is just awesome for us.

That charm...how does Rakasha stunt dice work?

No you aren't. You're way too low Essence and lacking in Charms for that.

Yeah, the imperfection of DBTW is bad for us..but it's unlikely we will be using those during a combat situation anyway.
