Oh Ruby. She's about as dubious as a magical girl mascot can get without being outright evil. Every day she wakes up from magical artifact slumber and sets out to cause as many problems on purpose as possible

Ruby is a fun and horrifying eldritch creation, as she rightfully should be.
While we're on the topic, is there any canon answer for where Sapphire is in non-prillya timelines? The obvious guess for the sake of symmetry would be that she's with the Edelfelts just like Ruby is with the Tohsakas but I don't think Zelrecht has an established relationship with that family so who knows.
(Also how exactly did Ruby end up in Ayako's hands given that she should have been locked in a box in Rin's closet? It's not a move that makes any sense for Rin to make so maybe BB? We know she's been doing something with Rin though we don't have any details. Ruby isn't exactly a trustworthy source but we should really interrogate her to see if she knows how she got here anyway) Nevermind. I went back and checked and Zelrecht seems to have sent it to her for whatever mysterious reasons he has

First, yes I am enjoying the story Erien, and I like Ruby as well. I also like that we Ruby isn't lewding little girls as well.
Second, while I think others have said as much as well, I believe the potential benefits of using Ruby outweigh the drawbacks or costs. Yes, Ruby is an amoral, perverted stick with a penchant of using suspicious and probably/definitely illegal substances. And this is only from my understanding of Prisma Illya, not whatever happened in Ataraxia. But Ruby is also powerful. Ruby has allowed a 12 year-old little girl (albeit one with assumingly great potential in being a mage) with no training at all to match threats that Servants could potentially struggle with. And we already established somewhere in this thread Zelretch doesn't just give away Kaleidosticks for shits and giggles. We shouldn't pass up on this potential ally, even if (It? She?) is dubious.
