Sakura shifts beside me, her hand clenching and unclenching at her side. Not in anger, but worry, if the stricken look on her face was anything to go by.
Raiga thinks on my answer for a moment, then nods. "Still wish to be a hero then?"
1st person.
Circe giggles. "Away, I took you away from that fight as to avoid putting you in further danger, do free to compliment this grand witch."
"feel" may be missing?
It was a good ten minutes later that the bowl was set aside, and Caster took a spot sitting just just next to you on the couch.
Word doubling.

Something happened and I lost all notifications related to the quest since June. Only found out there were four or five updates more a couple days ago.

[ ][Ayako has chased you down, again.]

I know the vote's been closed, but I will still leave mine in support of a single relatively sane and normal person in the quest. Will vote for her every chance I get...
...when it's not about Illya, anyway. It's a shame I wasn't around to vote for waking up in the Einsbern castle. I have a soft spot for homunculi, and interactions with her are harder to fit in the story than the rest of our group.

Will fix typos when home, don't worry, Illya will be plot relevant. Thanks!

Well, at least Circe's reaction will be entertaining. I wonder once it's clear she can turn him back willy nilly ayako will ask for him to be repiggified in the name of ayako hugging shirou while he's all small and cute.

I'm surprised Medea hasn't tried calling Circe Auntie yet. I could've sworn Circe hates being called that.
Medea mostly just ignored her last time, and I imagine current events will just make her ignore Ayako harder. Circe will like the cut of her jib and think she's adorable, which is correct. This seems mostly fine.
Circe: "Much as I would prefer to have Shirou all to myself, I am well aware that I will have to, ugh, share him."

Ayako: "How fucking dare you-!"

Circe: "Despite that, I am not particularly picky about who shares my bed."

Ayako: "Wh-wh-what!?"

I get that Circe is possessive as hell, do in part to being abandoned by loved ones multiple times, but sharing Shirou with other women also means that more people will be around.

I'll try and have the next chapter done this week, but I'm going on vacation so no promises. And there is two stories to update before this one as well.

Ayako is probably demanding a date. Wonder how Sakura is dealing with that.

For that, it's the Golden Ending all Eroge Protagonists strive for.
You say this good sir, yet only two of the VN's endings entertain the idea of Shirou having more than one beloved! His eroge protagonist qualities come more so from the ability to get an entire squad of heroines attracted to him rather than the desire to (except for the threesomes). It's the ability to have such EX Harem Protag. by just being himself that makes him the lad he is. In 3/5 timelines (4/6 if you count Mind of Steel), Shirou only ends up with ≤1 heroines, meaning that it is not just society, but Shirou's actions that lead to him having to make the choice. After all, isn't a lot of Stay Night about accepting that life will screw you sideways but carrying on regardless? I rest my case.

Assuming Sakura still went through the same things she did in canon, she is worried about being abandoned first with being unable to woo Shirou at a close second.

Shirou is the only friend and, quite possibly, the only family Sakura has. In her opinion.

That being said, Sakura might have a fit if she finds out Shirou and Ayako started dating because Ayako bothered to ask.

It's funny how effective being blunt is. God help Fuyuki if Shirou got over his trauma enough to allow people to love him. He has crushes on multiple people in canon, but sees himself as too worthless for someone to ever crush on him. Which has made him blind to Sakura and Rin. And Ayako previously.

Y'know, now that I think about it, I am suddenly reminded of the competition Ayako and Rin brought up in the prologue of FSN. They were fighting to see who could land a boyfriend that they could really love first with the winner having to order the loser around for a day.

I would suggest recalling how much Ayako smugged at Rin at school in this story.

1.3 - A Different Kind of Ayako Eating
Thanks to @Dragontrapper for the commission!

*Ayako POV*

Very non-canon.

Probably.

She was tall, that much you noticed immediately. Not immensely, but she was taller than any of your classmates easily. With long purple hair that ran well down her back, and a tight, black outfit seemingly designed to show off her legs and bust, she cut a rather striking figure. You weren't into girls, but you found yourself staring for a moment beyond just the fact that you had caught her slowly opening the door to Shirou's room.

It was night, and you had just been heading back to pick up the textbook you had left behind during your study session. It hadn't been long, maybe ten minutes. But that had apparently been enough time for this woman who you had never seen before to decide that it would be best to sneak in. You make a point of looking at her outfit, then cough, loudly. "What do you think you're doing?"

The woman turns her head to look at you, and you find yourself taking a step back on instinct. A purple blindfold rested on her face, blocking her eyes from view, but even as such… you could tell, somehow, that she was staring directly at you. Her mouth curls up into a smile, and seemingly by taking only a single, impossible step, she clears the ten feet of distance between the two of you.

"I was visiting Shirou. What do you think you're doing?" the woman asks, her voice barely above a purr.

You swallow, staring up at her face. "I… I was picking up a book I left behind."

The woman titles her head, then she leans forward, forcing you to arch your back as she smiles. "Oh? Are you Shirou's… girlfriend?"

You want to nod, you think, that was in the cards as a thing you had very much planned to have been doing. But much like a flock of birds take flight upon being startled, your brain had decided to raise the white flag the moment her hand had moved to cup your chin. "I-"

The woman closes the distance until her lips are only an inch away from your own, the scent of her perfume tickling your nose, her warmth drawing your body in. Your mouth opened of its own accord, and your head began to til-

"Ayako?" Shirou's voice speaks up.

You blink, taking in the hallway once more. Without even realizing it you had apparently closed your eyes, and you now found yourself against the wall, the woman nowhere to be seen. Indeed, the only sight at all in the darkened hallway of the compound was Shirou poking his head out of the door, staring at you with a rather confused expression on her face.

You move a hand to your lips, the only sign she had been there, been real, being the rapidly fading scent of her perfume… and the… feelings, running through you. You swallow, then look over at Shirou. "Shirou… I… left a book."

Shirou blinks, then his eyes widen. "Oh, right, yeah, let me just get that for you." Then his head disappears into the room.

You stare after him for a moment. Then, pushing yourself away from the wall, your senses running on overdrive all the while. You make your way down the hall, through the door into his room.

Then you lock the door.

Please note the next chapter may be delayed. I will be out of state the entirety of next week on vacation. But I do have this and another omake planned.
