I do not fully understand its function and anything magical I do not… is far too dangerous to keep around.
Is the lack of second 'understand' intentional?

You both turn your heads to see the stick hopping into the room, flexing this way and that. "I unleashed all of her desires. She wants to protect you, and everyone else~"
...
You look towards your girlfriend. "Just since yesterday, do… do you want them to remember you running around as a frilly catgirl?"
We need to remember that deep inside Ayako wants us to stroke her between the ears. Also to run around the house with random articles of clothing, ruining furniture in the process. Good thing Shirou is good at repairs then.

[x] [... If Ayako wants it]

I am not about to return Ayako's ticket into the meaty part of the story.
But if that thing does anything to her mind again, I am willing to expend a Command Seal to see Mordred break it over an armored knee before we put it away for good.
The stick bends sharply, like it was tilting its head mockingly. "Oh, I think you do… and so does he for that matter." The stick straightens up again, 'looks' at you, and purrs.
Okay, teaching Ayako to purr is allowed. But that's it!

Clearly the problem is Medea and I should remove her from the quest immediately. :D
Nah, Is just Medea would never admit she finds Shirou's stuborness into "stupid choices that end up working" endearing

And when we get the chance, we should Ask how Circe managed to heal her arm. Because she said It was a Big deal before our Magic Neko girlfriend took us

She healed her arm via direct, repeated injections of mana.

So as a general question for the thread, is it possible Ruby senses something in Ayako that's somehow significant, or is she just larping as a magical girl mascot and saying the usual lines?
My interpretation was that this is meaningful but Ruby is specifically commenting on Ayako having the right personality to be a good magical girl. The kaleidosticks are powerful enough on their own that nearly anyone could pick one up and perform major feats of magic but it takes the right kind of person to actually be a magical girl with one (compare the beginning of Prillya where Ruby gets so fed up with Rin's unwillingness to act like a proper magical girl that she abandons her and flies off to find a random 11 year old who can play the role better)

We know very little about Ayako in canon to be fair.

[X] [... If Ayako wants it]
Ruby's Annoying to say the least, but if this clusterfuck keeps going like it has, giving Ayako some measure of safety is probably a good idea

Results so far.

The key criteria are as far as I can tell from Prisma:
1) Resolute Will
2) Imagination
3) Good Instincts
4) Driven by Love

I dare say she has 1, 3 and 4 for sure, which is better than Ilya had over there(she has 2 and 4, picking up 1 and 3 later when she soloed Gilgamesh for 10 minutes while burning her entire body for the capacity) starting out.

Good magic circuit potential helps survive max output tho

[X] Become a magical girl yourself sorry but Shirou as a magical girl is kind of funny but also ... i had a crush on him for awhile and tbh i still do

Vote locked.

Well.

Time for Ayako to join the battle.

That's what I get for working too hard and missing the vote, though I would have gone for Shirou becoming a magical girl.

Imagine all the magical love arrows he could have shot!

So thinking ahead a little, this is going to have consequences for the ongoing mess with Rin. Ayako is Rin's only real close friend and prior to the grail war was someone she thought of as an anchor for her normal life as a student. The fact that she's now become involved with the grail war and is actively placing herself in danger to help Shirou is going to further isolate Rin and drive her into a corner. Rin may very reasonably feel like Shirou with his two servants and his countless allies and his talk about being a hero is taking all of the people she cares about away from her and leaving her alone with nothing.

On the other hand Ayako has a strong existing reason to care about Rin's wellbeing and unlike Sakura she's not shy about what she wants. As Rin's friend and a non-master who's not fighting for the grail she's also in a better position to negotiate with her and mediate the conflict than Shirou who's currently Rin's number one enemy. Hopefully in the long term she can help fix things

Rin can be saved.

Yeah, but if she's rolling with Salter, there's a chance Angry Mango's influencing her too, so I'm not quite sure how Shirou plans on handling that. We've already seen Rin's not above collateral damage. It's different from Shinji, who was just bitch-made. Rin can actually handle herself.

Rin seems like she's mostly beyond saving. She's willing to let innocents die for a nice looking trophy on the shelf
