A decade you have spent in the realm of the dead.

A decade you have spent on its doorstep never entering but gazing upon its nature.

This is not a sight that a mortal mind was meant to see and even as above as you are from a regular mortal even you aren't above death.

You don't remember much from your time in the embrace of death.

But when you awoke in the realm of the living once more you could feel a prat of you has permanently changed.

Gain the Dao shard of greater death- increase efficiency and power of death aligned techniques and insights, killing becomes easier (in the literal sense) and any death you deal is more likely to stick).




Getting caught up for the decade you have spent in death has been an experience.

There wasn't much you needed to actually do or comment on but there were two topic that necessitated your attention.

The first was the revelation that tribulations either hasten the coming of the apocalypse or are the reason for it.

Some of your advisors wanted to ban all tribulation until more information was discovered but you disregarded their opinion on this matter.

You have never, not once, have seen a path where the apocalypse doesn't occur.

And if you wish to survive, you'll need cultivators of higher steps.

And so, until new information was discovered you'll continue as normal.

The second matter concerns Okertaku.

In your travels you have spent some time in the investigation of supernatural phenomena and with the nature of divine Qi you have kept an ear open for possible god sighting.

Bu this is the first time you have ever come in contact with something claiming to be a god (aside from yourself) and he apparently wants to meet you.

The domains of this god are a little concerning but there is a great deal to learn here.

But you know so little about his possible motivations.

With the recent growth of unrest your advisers have proposed to let it bleed in the old ways.

By investing in festivals and celebrations to help people forget their worries and complaints.

The bread and circuses is an old method of appeasing the masses and quite effective.

Coincidently your rule is nearing its one hundredth year, which is as great of a reason to celebrate as any.

If nothing else it would help foster a comment spirit for the empire.

Investment here would mostly correlate to how big and impressive the celebrations are.

With the recant population boom the steadily expansion of the food reserves isn't keeping up.

If nothing is done the availability of food supply during emergencies would dwindle in compression for the overall population.

You still don't know how long the apocalypse is going to last but more food can never be a bad option.

A minimal investment is only really good for stopping the food reserves from degrading during the population boom.

A maximum investment on the other hand could see it goring by up to eighty percent.

You know the power for stem will change the world.

This is perhaps most noticeable in the proposal in front of you.

One that seeks to make the newly completed roads obsolete before they were truly used.

A project that envisions a vast network of metal rails throughout the empire upon which a new vehicle is able to travel at that competes if not exceeds the speed of Keku flight.

And with the test bed wildly successful it is time to expand.

Expansion will be slow and there is not a lot you could do about it.

Setting the tracks is both time consuming and labor heavy.

And building the trains that will run on the newly constructed lines will be an expensive prospect.

So, you must limit the scope of the project even as you push aggressively to utilize its benefits.

With the expertise gathered from previous decades and the work already done, you may connect many new cities to the network

The minimum you can invest will barely allow you to implement your plans, which would see thirteen new lines opened.

The maximum on the other hand would see even more lanes opened to some of the smaller cities and connect the empire even more.

[] Investment opportunities.

The department of economic growth is a small section of the bureaucracy that deals with both investing funds and approving low interest loans for enterprising Keku in order to grease the wheels of the economy.

But there are many opportunities they set aside either because of a lack of funds, personal or just being outside their remit.

Diverting a greater amount of funds and personnel would see a slow yet steady economic growth.

A minimum investment would see many new loans approved and a lot of funds invested in local initiatives but would see a low level of actual returns for the government itself owing to the tax rules in the empire.

A maximum investment would see a boom in new businesses -and as such a boom in revenue- but is somewhat risky setting aside the risk for inflation such an outpouring of funds could destabilize the current market enough to complete certain projects until such disruptions are stabilized.

With your military steadily expending, there is a need for new officers and commanders.

And with the expectations that you'll draft the majority of your population in the apocalypse your generals have proposed the creation of new military academies which would not only train new officers en-mass but would also further the study of war and strategy.

To hopefully better your utilization of forces during the apocalypse to come.

Investment here is less of a matter of how many academies will be build (or if they will be built at all) but more of a matter of quality and the facilities that such academies may utilize and the more is always the better.

The settling of the country side has only bought you time.

With both the population boom and the immigration to the cities many of your cities need swift expansion.

And not only in living spaces but in services provided, in water infrastructure and even the sewers would need to be enlarged.

The minimum you may spend would only see you tread water, this is not a bad thing as in time the pressure will subside and you must only tread water until then.

The maximum would see you trying to get ahead of the problem but when trading water is both possible and not harmful on the long term the wealth might be better invested in other projects.

For the Keku child rearing is a communal thing.

Even in the cities where thousands live and festering a sense of community is harder most neighborhoods come together for the rising of young chicks. With whose watching over the young rotating between families.

This practice dos wonders for social cohesion in the many sperate communities but with the recent population boom those structures are starting to be overwhelmed, with too many children and not enough caretakers.

The problems stem from the fact that with more children to watch over more Keku must watch over them in every shift, and so where before an adult might need to skip work once a month to help watch over the young he might now need to do so three times.

And there are not many who can truly afford this.

The solution is easy and present an opportunity.

creating a lower level school, where the young Keku may be watched over by trained personal for the majority of the day would both lower the pressure on communities and allow for some basic education to be taught to the very young which can then later be expanded by the school system.

In the last decade you have started this project and now you must continue it.

The general public currently seems both supportive of this project and appreciative so it may be advantageous to take advantage of public opinion before it turns

A minimal investment would be enough to make good headway, although more investment is probably prudent.




The last decade saw both the fast expansion of the number of cultivators and also the expansion of their reasonability's (2 AP).

it is expected that around 273 new 1st step cultivators would be recruited and trained this decade (at current pace you're expected to get another AP in 2 turns).

Tribulations: 13 second steps have indicated that they would face their tribulation this turn.

[] Recruiting-
if you wish to have a hope of survival the current number of disciples is pitiful, your disciples would focus on going out and training potential cultivators in order to find new talents and increase their number. With a crude but passable way to determine talent you can now weed out the untalented. Increasing the power and quality of your new disciples.

[] Looking for enlightenment cultivation as a concept is relatively unknown, with all of your knowledge coming from either your or your older disciples' experiments. But your knowledge is lacking and there are many unknowns. Have your disciples try to invite new concepts that either help or push your knowledge of cultivation further. (OOC: you get a cultivation advancement dice which can give you many tasteful things)

[] Push forward- your disciples have their own cultivation to pursue and they will do so regardless but giving them more time to do so would allow them to make more progress.

[] the power of many- when fighting the demons you have tapped into something, a way to pull the power of cultivators and to be greater then the sum of its parts now that you have touched on it replacing this feat should be fairly easy so task you disciples to do so.

[] rune study- new knowledge has brought your disciples another avenue of growth you very little about the runes you've found and how they work but were there is two there are three and your disciples are eager to find out more so let them and slowly you'll unlock the secrets of artificing.

-[] shield array's- able to protect a small city for outside attack so long as its fed sufficient Qi, the shield array represent a paradigm shift for defensive siege warfare

-[] pills- you have a need for more pills so task more disciples with crafting them. (+500 capacity)

[] the building blocks of the world part 2- the world is full of possible alchemy materials that you haven't even touched yet, with at least a somewhat better understanding of the underlaying principles of alchemy you can continue to attempt mixing and matching materials and see what new recipes you can come up with.

[] cultivating perfection- the road to perfection is endless but it is a road that must be walked, refine one of your alchemy recipes lowering the requirements to craft it or unlock its more powerful version.

both the art of immortal cooking and alchemy are limited by the available ingredients and catalysts they can use. You have gotten a lead on how to grow spiritual herbes follow it and see what you can do.

[] the wound in the world- for a decade has the emperor toiled to heal but a single child whose mere presence was a wound in the world and where there is one there are two, search the empire for other manifestations of such wounds and attempt to see if there is anything that could be done for them that's doesn't require the complete attention of the emperor.

[] traveling demigods- your new religion portrays the cultivators as those blessed by the emperor, having them travel the empire and show of their abilities would go a long way to helping in converting people to your new found religion and while less effective then if you go personally the total impact would be greeter due to their greater number.

You have already tasked various medical institutes to try to conceive of ways to ease their pain (for somewhat mixed results) but you possess knowledge and understanding few others will claim to match and with just some attention, your fallen students' plight might be much reduced… it is the least you owe them and yet the duty of the emperor sits heavy on your shoulders, can you justify investing your time (one of the most valuable resources you have) in something that will not help stave of anhelation?

-[] kekaru- Kekaru has done something you had no idea was possible and has reached a place between the second step and the third attempt to push him over the line fully into the third step if such a thing is even possible.

-[] the power of the few (must be taken with power of the many)- while fighting the daemon you have touched on a way to pull the power of cultivators together and empower it beyond its parts, you have tasked your disciples to search for that power again but you feel as if your help would be especially useful.

[] Listen to the earth- your new pillar allows you to understand the language of the earth all you must do is listen, you're not likely to get any useful information but practice makes perfect.

-[] attempt to pry the secrets of the noble's- you know they plot against you and now you have a new way to spy on them, so listen and see what you can find.

-[] just listen- the earth has much to say and instead of directing it for a specific piece of information you can just listen, you wont get any useful information but it would make for very good practice.

[] The burden of a god- whether it was a mistake you will perhaps never know but you are now a god or at least worshiped as one. and being divine -fake or not- comes with some benefits and no less reasonability.

Originally I planned to have your god meeting first but then I figured I might as well let you chose the insights while I'm writing the next part. I'm very exited at your reactions because there are some great insights here. W'ere going to be having a 3 hour long moratorium to allow some discussion.

Death (choose 2).

[] "From death comes life and from life comes death, this is a core tenant of Ponkatatu god of life" You may sacrifice life to enhance your attacks with death aligned energy and use the death caused directly by you to flood you body with life energy (which can be used to heal or increase life span if you have a lot of it).

[] "Deep in the south many Keku bury their dead beneath dunes of golden sand entrusting their loved ones to Uketu guardian of the sleeping dead, emulate his domain and let those you kill forever slumber" beings you kill find it harder to return to life.

[] "There is power in death and even more in willing death, this is the teaching of Kageku the selfless, god of sacrifice" You may proclaim a goal, in doing so you will die and the energy released form this willing sacrifice, will be used to rewrite realty to achieve this goal, the usage of any resurrection technique will reduce the effects of this insight by 80%.

Warth of Heaven.
Even before the creation of the heavenly lighting deflection array you have ordered tribulations to be done far away from population centers.

This was done both to avoid any damage from the tribulation to the surroundings as well as to avoid frightening the mortals.

After the arrays creation undergoing tribulations in large open spaces has become somewhat of a requirement if you wished to use one of the large arrays.

As you pushed the wind to fly even faster you regrated that decision.

Sure, as a third step cultivator you were pretty fast but its still a coin flip if you'll get the array before the tribulation strikes.

Thankfully you managed and the first lightning to fall has been diverted.

In your time you have seen many tribulations yet the lighting that just fell was nothing you have ever seen before.

You have no idea what a green lightning bolt dos and you don't wish to find out.

Unfortunately, you don't think you have a choice in the matter.

A second bolt falls shattering the array but being diverted all the same.

The third bolt strikes your body.

And you feel nothing.

You go to take a step and cough blood.

Looking inwards you see your organs are in ruins, torn up and spasming.

When the fourth bolt falls you see its effects plainly.

The green lightning bolt is turning your body against itself tearing and breaking everything, it can.

Its not here to break you, its not here to inflict pain its not here to stop your ascension.

Its here to kill you and nothing else.

A fifth bolt strikes and you're pretty sure you no longer have kidneys.

You feel as your regeneration is ever so slowly trying to stich you back up but the lightening infused injuries prove resistant to your healing.

You attempt to sink into the earth to increase your healing but find your self blocked by heavenly energies infused into the earth.

A sixth, seventh, eighths and ninth lightning bolt fall.

Each one damaging your body further.

By the time the sky clears, whatever left of your lungs is drowning in blood, you have more raptured blood vessels in your body then whole ones, your bones are full of micro cracks and two are outright broken and one of your eyes is blind.

And it seems you aren't done as the energy released from the tribulation crystalizes and something tears it way into reality.

Before you stand a giant adorned in bule robes, in his hand there is staff made of bone and flesh and atop it lays a skull of some being.

Giant wings unfurl behind it and when it opens its beak it revels sharp teeth just ready to tear flesh asunder.

Just looking into its eyes makes your mind bend under the pressure of the madness that shines in it.

There is no talking, no grandstanding the creature tears itself into reality and within seconds sends a blue lightning bolt infused with some kind of energy your way.

With your injuries you are in no shape to dodge.

You also don't need to.

For but a second you turn into wind ephemeral and untouchable.

Your pillar shakes as the foundation upon it sits cannot hold up the pressure.

Using the moment, you are wind you close with the demon, dodging its attack in the processes.

The second you return to physical form black fire rushes out of your body and towards the demon.

And demon or not being burnt by the black flames of Akerktu is too much for the demon.

Its screams shake the earth and its power is gushing out of it as its attempts to save itself but in the face of the black flames it is for naught and it dies in extreme pain.

Of course, such power has a price.

By the time the flames will be brought to control much of this forest will be burnt down.

But that is a job for your disciples.

Your body is ruined and if you wish to survive, you'll need to sink into the earth for some time.

You have survived your tribulation but you are severely injured and if you want to live you will need to entomb yourself in the earth for a few years and this means you must give up one of your actions for this turn.

[] Give up on the "next step" action.

Additionally, with you surviving the tribulation you must now decide what to do with the remnants of heavenly energy in your body (and just to prevent any misunderstandings this is very much a boon).

[] Send into your Dantian increasing the quality of your Qi.

[] Infuse a pillar and upgrade one of your insights.

Okertaku.
Despite what your daughter told you, you still thought you'll sense something where she didn't but no, the cave from where she was transported seemed completely normal to your senses.

With no other recourse you stepped into the cave and were whisked away.

It was a curious sensation, having your soul pulled outside of your body, the feeling it evoked were indescribable but there was at least some fear at how easy it has been done.

Thankfully now that you know the sensation, you're pretty sure you could resist it.

In the grasp of something so much greater your soul traveled beyond this world, beyond this dimension and you had only felt the hold on you lessen when you reached a lush meadow.

What appeared to be a lush meadow.

But you could see what lay beneath.

Everything around you, was just energy shaped to look like a meadow.

Grim Duty.
As bolt after bolt of lighting fell Yokoto only found her nervousness growing.

She knew her duty but found her resolve to face the tribulation once more shaken with every failure.

Maktu watched Yokoto laugh after the last bolt fell from the sky and felt relived.

He wouldn't need to bury another friend.

He already buried too many today.

As the medics rushed to Yokoto side (it wouldn't do for her to triumph over the tribulation and die for untreated wounds) Maktu gathered himself.

He was old, not the oldest but at over two hundred he was defiantly one of the oldest.

He knew this day was coming for a long time and has prepared the best as he could do.

But he didn't have delusions about his chances.

It was why he agreed to experiment.

Over four decades slowly gathering divine Qi, stockpiling it to this moment.

He will go last so whatever happens wont effect the other attempts.

It only meant he had to watch his friends and comrades die one after the other.

By the time it was his turn no one else has succeeded and more graves would be needed to be filed.

Not all of those who failed died.

Yet looking at charred yet still breathing body Maktu wasn't sure if dying was worse.

He flew into the field where his friend's blood has been spilled.

And looked at the cloudless sky and cursed the heaven that has taken so much.

He then had an idea.

A stupid idea, true.

But he was going to die anyway, so why not?

He raised his pillar and the heaven answered his sin.

Time seemed to slow as bolt fell from the clear sky and Maktu gazed upon his enemy.

He gathered the divine Qi he stockpiled.

And as heavens wrath struck him.

Maktu struck back.

And as the heavenly energies chaotically savaged his body Makatu could not help but laugh and laugh and laugh until his awareness left him.

For he felt something recoiling in pain.

And knew that he drew heavens blood.

The minimum you may spend would only see you tread water, this is not a bad thing as in time the pressure will subside and you must only tread water until then.

The maximum would see you trying to get ahead of the problem but when trading water is both possible and not harmful on the long term the wealth might be better invested in other projects.

The priesthood of your faith is mostly a small organization.

There just isn't the need for a large body of priests and nuns when their job is fairly minor.

Yet there might be a purpose for such a body beyond their nominal duties.

Both to proselytize and to lead the faithful in prayers.

This project will see to the expansion of the priesthood and to their reorganization form something local and minor to a force to be reckoned with.

A minor investment should be more then enough but more is always welcome.

Although a maximum investment may be too much and increase corruption in the nascent body.

if you wish to have a hope of survival the current number of disciples is pitiful, your disciples would focus on going out and training potential cultivators in order to find new talents and increase their number. With a crude but passable way to determine talent you can now weed out the untalented. Increasing the power and quality of your new disciples.

[] Looking for enlightenment cultivation as a concept is relatively unknown, with all of your knowledge coming from either your or your older disciples' experiments. But your knowledge is lacking and there are many unknowns. Have your disciples try to invite new concepts that either help or push your knowledge of cultivation further. -[] kekaru- Kekaru has done something you had no idea was possible and has reached a place between the second step and the third attempt to push him over the line fully into the third step if such a thing is even possible.

Last insights.
Okey, I'm done, 20 different insights you get to chose form, so were going to have a 6 hours moratorium this time because this is a lot of knowledge to digest and some of those insights require great thought.

I hope you enjoy, I'm around for questions if you have them (and I suspect there will be many).

Also we're obviously doing a plan vote, as otherwise this isn't going to be manageable and can give some weird results.


Flight pillar (divine) choose 2.

[] "The flame of Akaktu burns in your soul, it has been fed it has been nurtured and it wants more, ever more, beware it dos not consume you in its endless hunger" you may spend a horrendous amount of EFEP (like 100,000) to temper a part of yourself as if you had undergone a tempering tribulation, powerful relics and treasures may reduce this cost considerably (things like the demon sword, probably most of the stuff you can get form the Necron tomb I suppose the primordial blood also works but that's such gross overkill and a waste that I can see you ever deciding to do that) additionally this insights doubles the divine Qi cost to stay alive and hasten its growth.


Wind pillar (divine) choose 2.

[][] "The wind has helped you and you have helped the wind, a constant companion in your life, you feel as if it could be more sacrifice for it again and let it be born" the wind pillar crumbles taking all of its insights away with it, you may not raise it anew and from this powerful sacrifice the goddess of the wind shall be born and given flesh.

[] "Bekbeku lord of the sky, god of the storm has seen fit to grant you his weapon and coted you claws in the very essence of the wind" your attacks now carry the essence of the wind, granting them incredible penetrative power.

[] "The wind is your species domain and with power divine claim it form all others" while in the sky and when the winds are swift, you may spend incredible amounts of divine Qi (IE: 40) and manifest a partial domain over it, other cultivators may bear the burden of this domain with you and reduce the cost of its manifestation.

[] "In your flesh the flams of vengeance burn dealing retribution for those who dare harm you" gain a minor thorn effect.

[] "You have known of the cycle of creation and destruction, felt it in your flesh and in your Dao, this knowledge can be used to help your body heal for as the flame consumes so dos it single new life" gain a medium regeneration factor (which replaces the one from your previous insight).

[] "The flames of passion burn within you, pushing you to greater heights, to do more and be more, stork them and let your passion consume all but beware that the flame will dim after use" you may stroke your passion and spend 1 additional AP in a turn (or have more actions in war turns) but after use your passion will dim you for 1 ap worth of time (or how many war turn actions you've gained through use of this insight).

Haku's tribulation
"Haku" she heard a voice and turned around.

What she saw was another woman, she looked young, like a Keku who just recently reached adulthood, but the rasp of her voice was that of old woman, close to the end.

"Master" she said in return, her voice unwavering, as she looked at the tribulations, the heavens striking a challenger after challenger, breaking countless aspiring cultivators.

"I won't tell you to delay" she turned her head and looked at her master in surprise, when hearing of her plans to ascend, her entire sect objected, they knew the odds.

She had heard half a dozen arguments, by her sister, by juniors, they said that her talents didn't require her to ascend, that she will benefit them more if she continued just making runes, that her odds will rise significantly if she takes the emperor's offer to go last in the next batch, that it would give her time to prepare, lessons to absorb, she dismissed them all, she would succeed.

A single decade in the third step could make the difference, she would have more than one additional decade.

But her master was always silent, never telling her to wait or not.

And so hearing the trust in her made emotions rise, if she was younger, tears might have fallen, but her face stayed cold even if as her heart skip a beat, crying will be unseemly.

Master smiled at her, probably seeing right through it "I see your resolve and speaking against you will only weaken it".

She stepped next to her and looked at the next challenger, who was stepping into the fields after the last corpse was taken away, a sad look in her eyes, she had seen this course of events taking place many times.

"I will not lie, I am afraid myself, I don't step there because I am not ready" she stepped closer and hugged, Haku didn't resist "you were always more talented than me, I know you will come back".

She released her and Haku started walking away, she froze for a moment, should she say something, before she takes off, she would pass, and saying anything now will feel like a goodbye.



She had thought long about her future pillars, finding the right concepts was critical in the third step according to the teaching of her grandmaster, the records of the lessons he has given a two decades back being read and analysed over and over by every cultivator even considering the third tribulation.

If she waited, she might have gotten personal lessons herself.

She flew into the array, the imperial workers having set the one her sect provided, and looked at the sky, they were still cloudy, it was still day, but one could easily confuse it for night, with the clouds of the tribulations from the first steps before her.

There was a calmness in the beat of her wings, a steady pace and resigned air, the world was silent, her spectators solemn, sect sisters, her master, the emperor and other third steps.

She felt no fear, was she feeling like she was going to her own execution and is resigned to her death? or was it confidence keeping away the bite of it?

She was sure it would be the later when the day came, but she felt nothing, nothing but ambition and drive, smoldering in her mind.

Her claws dug into the ground, soft dirt and shattered glass, she felt for the tremors in the dirt as she disturbed it, smelt the barely noticeable smell of ash and death, different from that of a keku, and knew nothing lived beneath her, the power of tribulation having killed anything nearby.

Closer to the edge, some creatures may yet live, perhaps some have even gorged themselves on the heavenly qi, becoming slightly more than they were before, like the animals that lived in the places of power.

She expected that by the time her own tribulation was done, they will be dead too, the destruction of the second step tribulation greater than that of the first.

And she was the first and only second step to challenge the heavens today.

She was waiting and she didn't know why, she remembered her first tribulation, even prepared, it had been close.

She reaffirmed her chosen pillar, she had considered what theme to pick, would she go with a path similar to the first, contain the entire world within her pillars, would she go with something based on the sect's core teachings, she had been considering making a yin pillar, and raising the rest to be facets of it, death, spirit, cold and more, maybe she would take something completely different in the end.

But the first was simple, just like her grandmaster has chosen a teacher pillar to symbolise himself and the life cycle of the keku, she would pick a rune pillar.

Because no matter the final path she would chose, she knows that at heart, she would always be a runesmith.

Because it was an art the keku used to control the world, to cultivate and defend themselves, it was mastery of the one over nature, it was the start of the change in her path, and it will be the end.

And with this conviction, a single pillar rose in her dantian, and the heavens rose to strike her.

The first bolt screamed at her and froze solid, shattering and falling to the ground in shards of glowing ice.

The second used the distraction to batter her, breaking through a shield that swallowed movement, the technique only slowing it for a fraction of a second, giving her a moment to reinforce her body further, stiff and cold flesh, harder than steel, weathering the hit with relative ease.

The third was diverted, the array moving it aside.

The fourth shattered against her ambition.

Long ago she cultivated with no knowledge as for why, meditation and contemplation revealed and reinforced her reason, it was freedom, she was once weak, at the mercy of others, and she knew she wouldn't be so again.

Some might say it is a weak reason, people who didn't experience the fear of being weak, of cowering before cruel and sadistic masters, who will take what they wish and discard you the moment you stopped entraining them.

She cultivated so should another cruel tyrant come, it wouldn't be her who cowered.

She did not care for herself alone, she did fight for her sister, her master and her sect, for the young thirty years old girls she took under her wings, even for the race she belonged to, if not as much as for the rest.

And she knew that should she fail, it wouldn't be her alone who suffered the consequences.

And be it the heavens or the apocalypse, she would not bow her head in fear again.

And so she screeched at the heavens in challenge, a mental attack of her own, qi in her voice demanding fear and submission, an insult.

The heavens, unaffected, answered her arrogance with three bolts at the same time.

The array burned first, allowing her to wither the first barrage, and her mind shattered next.

But she continued to screech her defiance, until the sky cleared, and she fell to the ground, having taken to the sky at some point.

Inside her, a pillar stood tall, and another Keku rose to the third step.

Birth.
Far in the north, on the very top of the imperial palace a gazebo has been constructed.

Open to the elements from all sides-for its sole occupant has long overcome such mortal distractions- the entire imperial capital laid bare before it and should the Keku occupying has bothered to look his enhanced eyes would see far beyond the city.

But Shikatu was looking within and not without.

The process of gaining an insight was a slow and difficult one; how can one summon supernatural wisdom fit to shake the heavens on demand?

And so time was spent in meditation, slowly refining the insight into something worthy.

The slowness of the process allowed the aspirant to understand the path the insight is set upon and abandon it should it become nothing but a shackle.

And Shikatu was the greatest of cultivators and it would surprise no one that he already figured what his new insight would bring about.

Yet he forged onwards, either out of curiosity or the desire to create life once more, for a year and a day has Shikatu sat upon his palace in serene meditations as all four of the winds were drawn to him.

Meteorologists all around the empire raised the alarm as wind patterns are thrown completely out of balance.

And are promptly told not to worry about it by the imperial palace, which has dispatched personal to mitigate damage done.

And then suddenly a pillar, once so pristine, collapses and from its rubble something new is born.

And Shikatu beholds his new born daughter, and weeps in joy at regaining something he thought long gone.

But Shikatu is not the only one who's been affected by this turn of events.

All throughout the empire it could be felt, in the rustling of leaves, in the swaying of the trees, in the shirking of canyons and the blizzards of the north.

And most importantly of all, it could be felt in the soul of each and every Keku, as something that had been building for millennia has finally screamed its way into reality.

All throughout the empire spontaneous revelry erupted, with Keku dancing and singing until their legs could not stand and their voices could not be heard.

And the Keku celebrated to the dead of night, they knew not why they were celebrating only that something momentous had happened.

They knew not whose name was on their lips, they exalted. her virtues all the same.

And unknowingly they supplied the very power needed to stabilize the new divinity and anchor it in realty lest it be returned. to possibility and nothing more.

By the end of the night there was a terrible fatigue upon all the participators as they freely gave of their souls to something so much greater.

Yet even in such a state they continued exalting the name of ---

[] chose the name for your new goddess.



But the Keku weren't the only ones who noticed the birth of a goddess.

Far away a golden corpse locked in endless battle with its mortal enemies has allowed a sliver of his soul to consider the ripples he felt before disregarding it and consuming the fragment back.

In a different sector of galaxy on a ship that was a world that was a ship, the gaze of the blind was drawn to the birth seeking wisdom.

And in the warp that dimension of untold horrors a massive being took notice, should it have breached the barriers between the Immaterium and realty its size would span hundreds of light years across and it's mere weight would see the space it occupied collapse into a blackhole.

A being of plots within plots, with his right hand he plotted against the imperium, with the left it plotted against its "brothers" and with the third it attempted to disrupt its own plots, when the ripples in the warp reached it a thousand heads took notice and moved to react.

Reclaiming some of his investments, the god, the great god, gathered his power and moved to strike down the newly born while she was still vulnerable from her birth.

It struck down with enough power to shatter her forevermore and was rebuffed.

For a split second he assumed his "brothers" have come to fight for the spoils but the being that barred his path was one of hierarchy, obedience and will.

The being drew on more and more of its power and yet was rebuffed again and again, the deva and daemons of both gods watering the warp with their lifeblood as they fought died and rose to fight again.

He knew his victory was only a matter of time for he was far greater, yet his greatness was spread throughout the entire galaxy while his opponent was concentrated in very few places.

More an more power did he draw to this place, leaving his unworthy servants bereft of his gifts

And just as he amassed enough power to crush his foe, it fled already achieving what it had come for.

The window of opportunity closed, the goddess was no longer unstable and unanchored and easily dispelled.

Still, he struck, his power pressing down in a attempt to kill the newly born goddess,

Empowered by her birth and bursting from the faith offered to her, the new goddess held against the assault admirably but as more and more power was called upon, she was pushed back, taking wounds and bleeding divine essence.

As the great chaos god was about to strike the finishing blow, he bellowed with pain as golden flames touched his form torching his very essence away.

Drawing more power and pivoting for a different sector of the galaxy all together, united with his three "brothers" they drove the anathema back reversing whatever gains it had made.

Yet when it turned back its attention to the small planet from which a goddess was born, he could not find her, hidden as she was.

But he will eventually and then he will finish what he started.

Now beside the name vote we also need to figure out what you're doing this turn with regards to your ascension.

With your wind pillar now gone your core concept is mostly broken. You can continue forward without changing anything and still get a good concept, it would just require you to sacrifice some core stability.

Or you can free up enough time to rebuild a pillar and fix your overall concept.
