Kind of overselling on that Iron.
Yes they most certainly have trauma from the event. However we have yet to see anything near as bad as your describing. Neither of them has done anything that would suggest they would lash out at random nor ae they a "Jumbled mess".
Plus Sparring was a thing they both did alot of before. Chances are it'll help calm their nerves abit and get rid of some stress that has built up.
Ok, are we reading the same quest here?
AS we have very much gotten such things pointed out to us in the last few updates. As trauma and PTSD is has pretty much been a constant for Verge and Sparks in varying levels, with the spiders being the best off for the single fact we can't interact with them as much since they aren't as evolved.
"Nononono, No! I was supposed to wake up!" With a small grunt, you wrench your strangely thin limbs away from the piece of forestry to look at Sparks and are surprised to see him coming towards you. The crazed digimon reaches out with his remaining arm and uses the waxy appendage to grab the thick fur on your chest.
"Tell me this isn't real!"
Yeah, this is something that was totally dealt with in a meanful way in just a couple days. No way this issue isn't still lingering on Sparks after just 72 hours, no sure he is still complete fine and fit for combat training.
[] Try and chase after them. They could be trying to delete her.
Because seeing a rookie being chased by other rookies in town and jumping straight to thinking they might being trying to delete the rookie is sane reasoning.
"Raaaagh!" With a roar of anger you burst up off the mat and tears your rapidly spinning claws though the air... Only to pause a moment later as you realize that no one is actually there. The overwhelming rage and sadness soon fade away, leaving you vaguely detached once more. Your attention is soon brought to the only other rookie in the room, as Sparks wakes up with a scream of absolute terror.
"Verge! Verge where are you?! Don't-don't leave me!" The Candlemon struggles to sit up, but ends up falling off balance now that his other arm isn't there to help counterbalance things. He lets out a single sob before breaking down into tears once again.
In the morning, you're woken from your slumber by another *Poke* to your head.
"Psst. Psst. Hey. Wake up you guys."
Groggily your remaining eye begins to open to see who's talking, then you rapidly jerk up to a sitting position and narrow your eye at the speaker. Sparks snaps awake beside you and lets out a scream, his fiery head suddenly pulsing as he spots the other rookie.
He flinches back as your paws come up, thrusting his hands straight up into the air in surrender.
"Whoah, whoah, whoah! Wait I'm not here to fight!" The humanoid shouts, sounding slightly panicked. "I'm just here to say that breakfast will be ready soon. Frigimon wanted me to come get you guys and show you to the dining area.
Not to mention night terrors when both us and Sparks wake up screaming and/or attacking out of fear is not a good sign of mental health. Plus the fact that when someone came to wake us up the first thing we tried to do is attack them, it doesn't paint a good picture.
Then add in how every post after the village has seen Verge's mindset be more and more tinged with wrath and rage and it shows how his mental state is getting more and more violent and aggressive as it leads us down a path of a wounded warrior. Since all it takes is us flashbacking, getting surprised enough to just react to "danger" like we did in this last update or something similar and we could really hurt Sparks.
I mean there is a reason why pretty much any sane group that deals with possible martial action forces people to relax and unwind when they go through action or fucked up shit. An that is to make sure your people don't crack or gain shitty cooping measures that can lead to even worse shit down the road. Since mental damage unlike physical ones is a lot harder to both treat or even notice until something goes horrible wrong.
So yeah, is few days just trying to relax a little and get ours and our family's heads on a little straight really a bad idea? Because honestly a spending time recovering first and then hitting the mats will be a lot better for us long term, rather then rushing things here for likely little gains.
