Losing will not be a blast for me at least, cause again Frigimon. Not really able to have fun when losing means we lose the chance to get Frigimon the best option to fix her mangled ultimate form after the torture she went through and still haunts her to this day.
And that's part of the charm. There's very real stakes for Verge- I suspect those haven't been in Verge's thoughts because up until now he hadn't felt seriously threatened by any of the competition.

Morningstar is back though, and Verge endured his very best for a lot worse reasons than helping his aunt figure reclaim her life. He's not going to stop until he's a half charred skeleton because that's just the sort of guy he is. And I believe that's enough, because that same sort of determination was enough against the exact same enemy when Verge himself was so much weaker.

Sheesh, Not!Lucemon interrupt is scary. Dude mangled a powerful Ultimate like it was nothing, and is probably going to do the same to the Victory Chicken. I doubt the Host is going to be happy about how this pans out. Then again they might try and recruit Mr. Morningstar instead.

Hmm, what are best chances for defeating him?

I don't see our punches matching him, so going for speed seems to be in our best benefit?

Maybe Sparks has a few spells we could use to upour game?

Or should we try and master wrath state for this fight?

Best chance, we have a few days before fighting him.

Worst chance, he's our next opponent

Don't worry remember Big mama is watching out for us! She promised us at least the fight against repulsa so I think she won't just throw us in the meat grinder like that…

Here's something else to consider. The last time we went up against him, we were a Champion. While he shattered AVALON last time, it's not only been reforged, but we're strong enough to utilize it much more easily. Though to be honest, the only way I can see us potentially winning against him is by using his pride against him and goading him into taking the hit from either Drill Maverick, or Tekkousou if we can manage to recreate it during the fight.

That was my thought process as well. Bait his arrogance into an exchange of blows and hope Avalon holds and our trump attacks get through.

Hmmm, what else does he have going for him besides his mega punches? Any high spirit or such?
Yes.

He has 100k in EVERY STAT.

He dunks on everyone else's best with just raw power and has almost 20k on even our best stat.

And if he hasn't mastered mantra chant like his partner I'd be suprised. Further as an angel he probably has healing moves if only for himself.

Our only real chance is to hedge our bets on his arrogance

Well he might be unskilled but strong

So focused on his own godlike power, that he doesn't train as much

Given who he was partnered with... I sincerely doubt that DeathMeramon would let him sit on his laurels. Also I'm thinking that DeathMeramon developed his unique fighting style in order to allow him to actually fight against Morningstar and force him to try.

he's still stuck as a champion with all stats seemingly maxed out.

He's probably had more than enough time to train but even if he didn't and he's a complete and utter amateur. He's still an amateur stronger than us, faster, more energy and potentially just as if not more durable.

We should be more skilled I grant you probably significantly more skilled. But we're a lot less able to use that skill then we were against the golem.

We're going to need to think outside the box to deal with him

Spells take to long to learn. Maybe Malkmon could do something to make it possible but frankly she's… unstable and should not be counted upon
Ok

What if Sparks teleported us to Flux Mountain or such for some last minute training?

Actually, what are chances the semi-finals have large time zones between them?

Since they wanna make a show of it and all.

I think it's gonna down to hoping and praying that Tekkousou is enough to beat this guy and that Verg can hit him enough times with it before he exhausting himself ( I believe it uses up more spirit then god bless).

Not with ya on that one. Can't get into this like you with the stakes matter when said takes are not managing to get a war veteran running an orphanage reconstructive surgery after her time as a torture victim. I kind of don't wanna metaphorically sell Verg's soul to the Bulwark.

In fact I'd have loved if there were no stakes for Verg and if he just lost that was it, been a nice change of pace actually have none.

There is very good odds Luce might disqualify himself before he gets to us.

Apparently Grademon and him have history. Soooo she might be dead.

We actually only need to place high in the tournament and it's a 4 round thing so we likley won't even see him until the champ bout given we've got fights with Thresh and Repulsa before that.
Given the fact that Malkimon has outright told us she's going to rig the tournament brackets in Verge's favor. (Which she can easily do seeing as she's the one who decides the brackets in the first place) I'd say that you're probably right in that regard.
