Not gonna lie, scaring the bejeezus out of those city kids was pretty funny. And yeah, Verge is naturally a big guy, has grown even bigger due to spontaneous mutation, is dark-furred, looks like a mess from that battle and the multi-day trek through the woods, has one red eye, has weird half-feral spider children living on his body, has a giant mining drill coming out of his face, etc. I'd shit my pants if I was a kid and saw that coming for me.

Also, uh, Sparks is showing some worrying developments. Gonna need to keep an eye on that guy.

Yeah, we are going to have to pick up where Flame left off. But hey, that is just the kind of mon we are and we won't fail another sibling.

Honestly, what really interests me is how the spiders are going to turn out. They'll presumably be speaking as rookies(I wonder if Drexal's gonna invent an OC rookie stage for their line since we haven't seen one in canon?), and I lost track of which one is which so I got no clue what their general personalities will be like. Lot to keep track of.

So let's get this straight. Verge is...
a) Missing an eye.
b1) Scarred and grizzled as fuck.
b2) Damn scary as a corrolary of A and B1.

So...All things taken together, when's he gonna pick up a sword too big to be called a sword?

KoDoKugumon Evolution?

"Yes Father, I am totally a Rookie now."

...fuck, that's right. Starting on day 14 of Light it'll be exactly 7500 bits, and go up by 10% each week after that. Forget about wanting to help our friends, what we really need power for is to rescue Auger ASAP so we can pay that shit off sooner!

If he gets mindwashed and we lump sum return his money, he'll probably shake off the mind control/indoctrination. We have a plan boys!

Well, first he's gonna need real thumbs :V
Eh, he's a Digimon, he can probably manage. I mean, if a Numemon can wield a sword, Verge can too.

EDIT: Ooh! Idea! If he maintains having drills of some form throughout his digivolutions, he could make it drill-powered.

Someone photoshop and change the eye to red

Also darken the armor a bit

2nd Day Of Light: Morning Breakfast & *Beat*
The LadyDevimon's iron grip wraps around your throat, leaving you barely able to so much as breathe. Her familiar red stare down at you with a unabashed glee.

Repulsa whispers something under her breath leading to red claws turning a dark shade of purple. With wide frightened eyes, you watch as she slowly brings a single monstrous finger towards you head.

"Scream for me Little Mole!" Her cackling voice drives a stake of terror deep into your very core. "Scream!"

And you do. You scream with everything you have as her claw begins tears a ragged line down your face. You scream as the appendage rips into your left eye, taking half of your world with it. And you scream as she continues down, drawing a ragged line all the way down your face.

"Raaaagh!" With a roar of anger you burst up off the mat and tears your rapidly spinning claws though the air... Only to pause a moment later as you realize that no one is actually there. The overwhelming rage and sadness soon fade away, leaving you vaguely detached once more. Your attention is soon brought to the only other rookie in the room, as Sparks wakes up with a scream of absolute terror.

"Verge! Verge where are you?! Don't-don't leave me!" The Candlemon struggles to sit up, but ends up falling off balance now that his other arm isn't there to help counterbalance things. He lets out a single sob before breaking down into tears once again.

Sparks...

With tears flowing down the side of your face, you cautiously move forward and wrap the blubbering rookie in a hug. It's uncomfortable, dredging up a memory you'd rather forget, and his tears scald your flesh but...You're willing to bear the pain. He reciprocates the gesture, wrapping his sole limb around your side and burying his fiery head into your chest.

You actively begin to shudder, both from the pain and from finally facing the acts which your mind had been keeping away all this time. Flamemon, Gramps and Fu are forever gone you're never ever going to see any of them again. All you can do is state yourself with thoughts of ripping and tearing those responsible apart.

Lunamon and Thresh have were taken but... You're going to get powerful enough to take back.

In time tiredness claims both of your senses again, leaving you to fall back asleep with the one armed rookie still clinging to your fur.

This time the sleep is blissfully free of nightmares.

===

In the morning, you're woken from your slumber by another *Poke* to your head.

"Psst. Psst. Hey. Wake up you guys."

Groggily your remaining eye begins to open to see who's talking, then you rapidly jerk up to a sitting position and narrow your eye at the speaker. Sparks snaps awake beside you and lets out a scream, his fiery head suddenly pulsing as he spots the other rookie.

He flinches back as your paws come up, thrusting his hands straight up into the air in surrender.

"Whoah, whoah, whoah! Wait I'm not here to fight!" The humanoid shouts, sounding slightly panicked. "I'm just here to say that breakfast will be ready soon. Frigimon wanted me to come get you guys and show you to the dining area.

Oh.

At the mention of food you stomach lets out yet another loud rumble. The dracmon slowly lowers his hands then lets out a sigh of relief now that it's clear you're not going to attack him.

"Just follow me, then. " The demonic rookie says, turning towards the door "I'm Dracmon by the way. Don't worry about any pranks from me today, Frigimon doesn't want me scaring away any new arrivals." He explains before muttering something under his breath, "Not that I'm actually the scary one here." You set off after the shorter mon with Sparks hesitantly following along at your side. The *prankster* continues speaking even as he leads the five of you away. "Here's some advice. Don't listen to Otamamon. She was dropped on her head a while back, and now thinks she's some sort of goddess reborn." He finishes the sentence with a disdainful snort.

"Heh" Sparks let's out a bitter laugh at the comment, though you're not sure why he did it.

"Just watch out for Wormmon, or *Beat* as we've taken to calling him. He is-" The Dracmon takes a second to look back towards you and then corrects himself. "-was the strongest rookie here.

As time passes, you're led through the halls to the other side of the mansion and pair another set of large doors into what looks to be some sort of large dining area. The room is long and narrow with a single cracked window at the end overlooking a large green tree. A very long, tall table stretches down most of the chamber, complete with large chairs big enough for most rookies to sit in. Nearly two score digimon line the dark wooden tables edges, including the trio you'd met yesterday.

What draws your eye however is that a single rookie is sitting completely alone on the side closest to the door.

There's at least half a dozen empty seats between him and the other rookies on either side. Dracmon let's out a small curse under his breath and rushes around the table looking for another empty seat out of that range. The Otamamon rushes past you a moment later and then breaks that trend, choosing to jump up and sit directly beside the small green insect digimon. The bright eyed mon sends a single stare her way then shrugs, going back to staring at the table in front of him.

Sparks chooses to try and sit on the edge away from the others, and of course you move to joins him. For some strange reason the rookies sitting there already choose to get up and leave their seats free. You're a bit confused as they scurry away, but shrug it off, more concerned with the low chuckle Sparks is letting out.

Unfortunately it turns it that you're actually a bit too big for any of the chairs, so you're forced to stand. Which isn't actually a problem considering you're still taller than most of the other rookies even when they're sitting up. The others at the table take notice of your presence, many whispering to each other concernedly, though the green insect digimon at the end just stares at you. It's a bit uncomfortable truth be told.

Frigimon swirls into the room half a minute later, handing out bowls filled with a strange white liquid and large of boxes covered in strange words and pictures. Then she heads back out shouting for you "sweeties to enjoy your meals." It takes you and Sparks a few seconds to figure out how to actually consume the breakfast, but watching the other rookies unpack theirs proves insightful.

You take the one called: (Choose Two)

[] Lucky Clovers
[] Tiger Flakes
[] Mint Berry Crunch!!!

After you've finished devouring the contents of your box, Sparks gives you the rest of his box as well. Something that doesn't wholly state your stomach, but at least stops the growls from continuing. The three KoDokugumon run across the table hissing at the larger digimon and stealing bits from the others rookies foods. None of them seem over willingly to defend their food however, and actually seem scared by the spiderling's posturing.

Sparks finds this funny, and you have to admit it puts a slightly happy feeling in your chest if only a slight one.

Eventually the Wormmon leaps up from his seat and starts running down the table, ignoring the In-Training entirely and rushing straight towards you. He skids to a stop on the surface just before you and sends out a heated glare in your direction. Beside you Sparks flinches back.

"Fight me"

What?

"Huh?"

=== Choose One:

[] Agree to fight him? Your head is bigger than his entire body so you're not really worried about getting hurt. You'll end things quickly,
[] Refuse the offer. You don't really see a reason for it here. Plus if he attacks you... Well it's not like he'll actually be able to do much.

=== (Bonus Points, Special, Agility, Fortitude)
  • Strength: 116.25
  • Fortitude: 124.00->125.75
  • Endurance: 108.25
  • Agility: 96.00->97.5
  • Special: 44.25->46.25
  • Spirit: 37.00

Authors Note: Heh, this ended up becoming larger than I would have thought. Became about 5-6 times longer than the initial outline.

-[X] Ask first the reason of why he wants to fight and don't understimated him, if he is challenged you it means that is stronger than what he looks.

He looks like the true final boss of the rookies.

Two things:

  1. I changed the wording in that last set of choices.
  2. Wormmon is kind of triggering Verge's *Playfighting* instincts right now since the last thing he fought that was this small was Thresh.

We need to chat with sparks and the our spiders later, as we need to snip this kind of behavior in the bud and not let it take root.

As we don't any of our guys to become bullies or worse here.

Either it'll be a close fight and help improve Verge's fighting skill or he'll get his shit pushed in and it'll be hilarious. Either way, I'm interested.
