Probably, but not in any major capacity within the Empire.

Generally, it is better to assume that any religion as we'd recognize it acts more like a predecessor to those that exist now. The Judaic Order of the Flaming Sword would be regarded as a titanic heresy/equivalent by Judaic Faith's today due to its doctrines regarding women, Genetic/Mechanical-Modification, sexuality, etc.

Honestly the Pilgrims and the lost are the closest thing to Roman Catholicism but speaking of Catholicism can we start making breweries and cheese making facilities in our holdings

I'll add the option to the next turn, but they won't be really profitable. Norqod isn't suited to any kind of agriculture beyond sandwheat, and goats are known to starve themselves before eating the thing.

We probably could make a bewery deep on the tree where is cooler and not as dry but i think would be an worse version of ashleaf.

Huh, so sandwheat doesn't even make good beer? Figured they could ferment it with other stuff to make up for the taste.
You can do that, but to fully eliminate the taste you'd need so many other things in the beer that doing without is both cheaper and better.

And there are already people who'd rather starve than eat sandwheat, so the market isn't the best.

Maybe we could make vodka out of it? Vodka, even good quality vodka, is usually distilled to a opint you can't taste the carb it was made out of.

That should also work with sandwheat, though a distillery is much more expensivey than a brewery.

just how bad is sandwheat if people willingly choose to die from starvation than eat the stuff?
Very. Though, to be fair, most of those people are either too used to better food and can't quite bring themselves to eat it in any quantity that matters, or have a mental break like: "No. I'm done. I can't do that anymore, I'd rather die. I'm done."

You could, and you also could further distill it into medical alcohol, which has a far greater profit margin and health effect.

I'll add appropiate options to the update.

We should look into obtaining more farmland if we want to make beer. The only crops we have right now are bloodbark, black root, and ash leaves. The first is used for medical stuff, the second might be usable, and the third can't be fermented.

The problem is that we live in a desert.
Not a good place to a brewery maybe wine, but by nature that is a long term thing

Hey cpu;d we do spme beekeeping since it wou;d allow us to make a nice profit and pollinate our crops,We also can ferment the honey to create either med or alw I'm not really sure. Also do we gave any prickly pear cacti since those have sweet ftuit and ou can ferment it.In addition hat about wine making.

Calynth bees are about the size of an adult humans thumb, and have the temperament of a wasp, with regrowable stingers. You do not want the things anywhere near where you live, and much less harvest what they have without heavy full-body sealing armor. I'll add the option.

And there are no prickly pear cacti that hold/grow non-toxic/poisonous water/fruit. They are mostly used to de-toxify areas.

You can make wine, I'll add it to the next update.

Do we have any mesquite trees sice you can use those to make flour with their seed pods. What about aloe vera since that has medicinal properties. Also is it mer or does this region hate traditional church activities like beermaking, winemaking and beekeeeping

No, no, and Calynth is a Death World. Two-thirds of all things on/in/under/above it wants to kill you. You don't bother with luxury until you don't actively starve to death. The traditional curch activities include training, killing things, and learning first aid.

So would that mean earth is still out there and Pilgrims 5-10 generations later could find it?

That's one of the big mysteries of the quest, and I doubt Cooky is going to tell us before we put a Pilgrim in space.

That said, I'm 90% sure pre collapse civillization was a space society given that there's an entire moon that apparently gives out radio waves.

As well as the fact that multiple religions from Earth are present on Calynth, such as Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Also, Latin appears to be a known language, going by Martyris' name.
