Bone Valley

We have finalized our alliance with the Verdant Children, Ashen Winds and I agreeing to share information, aid, warnings, and some resources between our peoples. For us, their aid will primarily be a great boon within the Necropolis underneath the city, as the Verdan Children have long since used their own passages and routes to connect safe spaces and stockpiles scattered throughout its near entirety, opening many levels to us that have previously been closed due to the distances and the difficulties in reaching so far down without risking a full loss of an expedition. We have already prepared some supplies for an extended expedition, and are planning for a deep plunge into the depths.

Hello, this is Akane.

The bloomeries and forges roar and echo with the sounds of industriousness, with tools and equipment flowing from their bellies into our stockpiles and warehouses, replacing old tools and ensuring we need to buy far less from local sources. I have ordered the smiths to begin with the forging of enough equipment to outfit a squad of our faithful to act as guards and those of us able to work with lumber to begin constructing fortifications and watchtowers. There is no need for them now, but it is better to have them and not need them than the other way around.

My talks with Lady Nal-Ila continue, and I find her to be an agreeable woman of the right mix of repute and craft that I am now fully convinced that she will be an invaluable ally in the decades to come for as long as we both work to let our stars rise across the firmament.

Additionally, the anger of the locals was rightfully re-directed. With our people as best armed and trained as we can currently afford to, we have begun constructing some greenhouses and riding on the ties created last season to expand the number of our recruits. More than a few youths have expressed interest in us as we offer a vision for the future that is far more active than those given to them by their parents.

As we reach a hand to the lowest of the citadel, so too do we find our eyes opened fully to their plights and fears, and so have begun to create a shelter for the vulnerable and the weak to hide from the criminals of the Region that seek to force them into their claws and grasp. I should not be surprised at their stories nor how the Paths of their lives have led to the here and now, but I find my heart swelling with wrath against the criminals all the same. But I know that every journey begins with but a step, and my Path will lead me to them soon enough.

Patience is a weapon, for it can be wielded like a dagger and a whip.
