Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

[X] [Radiance] Core Purge Unleashed
-[X] Samael will use Your Next Line Is... to stun Solar Radiance. Insight will use Quantified Combat to negate all of Lunar Radiance's attacks.
--[X] Sam is to use Libras in conjunction with Your Next Line is... to gain new spells.
-[X] Solid Core will activate Core Purge after designating the two Radiances as friendly, and their Control Seals as hostile. She will then fly towards them, making sure that they are both within 50 meters of her.
--[X] If Lunar Radiance's Seal is not instantly popped, Solid Core is to begin flying around Lunar, trying to get the Seal within Core Purge's AOE.
---[X] If either Radiance is still hostile, Sam and Insight are to continue using Your Next Line Is... and Quantified Combat respectively until all hostilities are ceased.
-[X] Gabriel is to catch Solar Radiance if she falls from Lunar's head, and Lunar if Lunar winds up above the ground after she's knocked out for whatever reason. In addition, her Presence of Light are to treat both Radiances as friendly, and their Control Seals as hostile.
-[X] Brilliant Key will use her spell to heal any wounds, starting with Gabriel.
-[X] Red Rose is to negate any attacks that are made by either Radiance she can, if for some reason either of them are capable of attacking.
-[X] Everyone is to take cover until the battle is over.

This appears to be the most comprehensive plan thus far, and seems reasonably likely to work. Unified Darkness might get intel on Core Purge, yes, but even if they do this seems like a good place to bring it out.

[X]Save it~
With the plan above, more levels of ICore don't seem likely to make or break it. So I'd prefer to save the XP until we do need to panic-buy something to win, or failing that when we get a chance to train and can optimally spend.

I think goddess gold getting the sword was a one time thing and wont drop again for anyone else if Nepgear dies. Goddess gold only got hers because of her magic's interaction with the Kaleidoscope and well, her magic in general as having basically every weapon in existence in her treasury or whatever.

So no farming piles of Gehaburn for people.

An unsafe assumption...
For some reason I thought there was a crystalwatcher post about how the Goddesses could learn the conceptual language :V. No such post exists.

It's still a bit alluring as a way to disable them, but it's nowhere near as safe as I first thought. What I pictured happening was the Radiance pair suddenly seeing Solid Core as a Divine Entity. Between that and Supremacy Zone invincibility we'd pretend to be a Divine Entity and their thoughts would be "OhFuck" over and over until the seals got destroyed.

Since Epic Affinity doesn't act like a shield against concept speech it's too risky to use. We don't want them to kneel over and die from shock because the speech weakened them too much to survive the seal's destruction.

i just have one question, why are we discussing this:
"I could answer that for her if she doesn't mind." Insight butts in. "Just note that I won't really hide anything. And I might spin off into a rant, because you are fucking bullshit." You take the chance to glance over your shoulder to peek at the Magical Girl, and are treated to the sight of James trying to cover a laugh and Red Rose looking at Insight with a raised brow.

"Umm… sure?" Part of you really didn't want to know what she had to say about your powers, but it was beat into submission by your curiosity.

"OK, to begin with, her defenses can be summed up as "your attack isn't bullshit enough to faze me". And I'm not paraphrasing or anything right there. It is literally at that point. I am personally positive that the only person in the entire Local Dimensional Cluster that's capable of killing her in a single hit is Goddess Gold herself. I shit you not! Not even you will be able to one-shot her!"

Insight sighs and begins to rub her face with both hands. "Her offensive abilities, while not as great as her defensive ones, are still fuck-off powerful. But even after all that, they both pale in comparison to her real specialty." You blink, and everyone else drops their conversations to look directly at her. "No… her real strength lies in how she can make everyone around her even stronger than they already are! Just walking next to her makes us ridiculously resistant to enemy attacks! Regular mortals? Like you guys? Your monstrous abilities aren't natural, not even close! But they've been boosted to outright comical levels by her! Seriously, you're all practically on the level of above average Magical Girls yourselves! Seriously, if I put even a third of this up on ToHO, then no one would believe me!

"She's a fucking flying fortress, while at the same time a font of outright implausible power! The fuck did you do to get so strong?"
in what amounts of enemy territory?

Literally the only mortals capable of learning the conceptual language are the Drives and Cores.
(And a tiny handful of other people but that requires specific events to play out properly.)

The Doom Snek is just about 80 Meters long in total.

So @crystalwatcher, we know that Disintegrate reduces Resilience by 10% of damage dealt, and we know Erase is similar but reduces Resilience more. Could we go ahead and get an explanation as to how much more Resilience Erase destroys?
Shred does a 5% and Erase does 15%.

Could have sworn I marked it out but I can't remember. If I have and said another number, just consider it retconned.

@crystalwatcher - While I have you here; the Disintegration tree leaves a debuff based on the attack's damage. My question is what part of the damage? Is it the base damage? The Total Damage? The Final End Damage? Something Else?
Final End Damage. So an attack has to deal damage for the ability to reduce the resilience. Problem is, that it can stack continuously until the fight ends or the target dies.

Also, healing abilities that add in some form of regeneration such as Rapid Recovery or Instant Regeneration negate the decreases.

'Sides if we don't satisfy Crystalwatcher's thrist for blood he'll just make the next mission even more ludicrous.
Don't worry I know what I'm going to do to you guys.

Ehh, that isn't too bad. The horrifying outcome is Red Rose obtaining Gehaburn :V
Now image about a half dozen of them floating around the base given to people you've never even met, some of which have access to some potentially critical locations. Like the Armory... where they keep all the C4... and have the clearance that leads to no one asking why they checked it all out... Or why they were seen lurking around the vehicle depot with said C4.

*Insight smacks kellogo with a folding chair* None of that shit! I don't want any apocalypses on my hands, got it?
... *shoves apocalypse plans under my seat with a shifty look* What? I wasn't doing anything.

No popping Nepgear, i do not want to see more people with those blades. That Goddess Gold has one is bad enough... huh, I wounder if she knows she has it.
She knows and is completely aware of it, yes.

I think goddess gold getting the sword was a one time thing and wont drop again for anyone else if Nepgear dies. Goddess gold only got hers because of her magic's interaction with the Kaleidoscope and well, her magic in general as having basically every weapon in existence in her treasury or whatever.

Gehaburn has an infinite spawning mechanic. And with Indestructible Core, more than one can spawn at a time on Nepgear's death.

i just have one question, why are we discussing this:

in what amounts of enemy territory?
Certainty that everyone inside has no way to tell what you're talking about.

Technically, no.

But they're "mortal enough" for the purposes of the CL. Which plays into the specific events.
What about my question from earlier, are people who possess significantly more affinities than what's standard for their species (at least 2 more than standard, such as Grand Archangel Gabriel having 4 total) considered less mortal (or have an elevated weight to their existence), even if they do not possess a Growth Affinity?

She knows and is completely aware of it, yes.

this makes me want to know a few things: do all the Rei's in the infinite kaleidoscope now have Gehaburn copies? I know she remembers Nepgear's death from the dream and getting the blade so what was her thought when finding the blade IRL? does she have any idea about what is is and the it really came from her pet dying and not just a odd MG power up? and if so what effect did it have on her mind known Nepgear died and does she have any idea on what it could do?

Bit of morbid humor and characters not matching their personalities then.

Rei: Nepgear stop dieing! My treasury is filled to the brim with that goddess forsaken sword!
Nepgear: *pouts* But I get free icecream on my next death.
Rei: I'll give you icecream, all the icecream, just stop!
Nepgear: Yay! *mumbling under her breath* first step towards world domination complete.
Rei: What was that?
Nepgear: Isn't peace just wonderful? Tee-hee~

"Sega." Your sister perks up at her name. "The courtyard ahead is more than likely going to be open-air. So while the rest of us are clearing it, I want you to hang back a little and keep an eye on Silver Hero. Once we clear enough, take her back to the barricade, alright? Then feel free to make your way back to us."

"You can count on me, sis." As she quickly relieves Michael of his rather minor burden - Silver Hero is small - you address the rest of the group.
I see Sega is happy to do something. Of course this seems to be a trend; We go on a mission and at the first opportunity send Sega away, admittedly to do something important but still away. If Nepgear gets hurt I see this causing issues.

"Sam, does one of your buff spells pass along positive affinities?" He nods firmly and you grin maliciously. "Then buff everyone, and let's go!"
Wait! We weren't already buffed? I mean I know we just rolled over Silver Hero, like a boss!, and all but that's no excuse. They should have been done before entering the Necropolis.

"Understood." And with that he places his hands together in the fashion of a prayer and begins to glow. "Empower."

(Empower Roll: 751)
751/1,000 - That's a good roll.

"Shell."

(Shell Roll: 838)
838/1,000 - Nice!

"Inspire."

(Inspire Roll: N/A)
I'm guessing this either gives everyone the Faith affinity, the Demonslayer ability, or both. For anyone who doesn't know, understandable since it's hidden away, this is the effect of Demonslayer:
Demonslayer does an extra 50% damage per negative affinity the target has.

@crystalwatcher - Can you confirm the effect of Inspire?

Give Sam Multi-Caster (Lvl 1) so he can cast two spells per turn.
"The Demon King."

(Demon King: 75 Damage, 39 Dice)
Should be:
(Demon King: 375 Damage, 195 Dice)
and 195/250 isn't bad but it's not great.

"The Promised Victory."

(Promised Victory Roll: 50 damage, 9 Dice)
Should be:
(Promised Victory Roll: 250 damage, 45 Dice)
45/50 is quite good.

And power washes over you all. Red Rose, Insight, and Brilliant Key all stare at him in surprise as his spells take effect.
"Wow! He really is useful! Three cheers for Buff Man!"

Seriously though +1,703 on offense and defense, a Divinity affinity with all the Existence Bonus awesomeness that comes with, and a positive affinity for taking on Skeletal Knights is awesome. Sadly they probably don't get Demonslayer since Aquila didn't have it on her attack against the Skeletal Knights and Spawn of Chaos.

"That should be all of them. Ready when you are Solid Core."
Huh. I wonder why Sam didn't use:
Hero King
Level 0
Base Damage: N/A
Magic Modifier: N/A
Affinity: Epic
Ability: Boost-Self | Legendslayer
to boost himself.

He, and the rest of Team GEAR who are already used to his magic, draw their blades and take positions near the opening to the courtyard. Those not so used to his magic: Aquila, Lucky, Brilliant Key, Red Rose, Insight, and Sega, all slowly move to join you for the attack. Though Aquila recovers faster than the rest of them.
Hey now! Sam only used Shell for the first time on the Graveyard mission. So really Sam's history is:

Graveyard Mission:
Shell + Empower (self)
Members: James, Michael, Samael, Nepgear

Laboratory Defense:
Shell + Empower (self)
Members: James, Michael, Samael, Nepgear, Gabriel

Operation Starborn:
Shell + Empower (self) + Drive Boost (Self)
Members: James, Michael, Samael, Nepgear, Gabriel, Aquila, Lucky

Operation Soul Collector
Shell + Empower (self) + Drive Boost (Self) + Inspire + Demon King + The Promised Victory
Members: James, Michael, Samael, Nepgear, Gabriel, Aquila, Lucky, Sega, Brilliant Key, Red Rose, Insight

So really Team GEAR isn't that much more experienced, especially Gabriel, with Sam's spells. It's just that Team GEAR has seen some serious shit and take everything in stride nowadays.

The courtyard itself, as you burst through its entrance, is a very wide-open space. Roughly a hundred and fifty meters separate you from the exit on the far side. That... and several hundred skeletons.
Ooh! This is the perfect opportunity for Nepgear to show off in front of Senpai Red Rose! She can throw out a Celestial Severance or Starshine and demolish all the enemies in one attack!

"Brace yourself, I need a lift!" And you do. Between one step and the next, you trigger your flying ability in order to stabilize yourself as you bend one knee slightly, and duck low. The instant you feel Aquila's foot touch your back, you push off in almost perfect synchronization. As if the two of you had been fighting together for years instead of barely three hours.
Lesser God, son!

Seriously my bet would be with Nepgears soul essence energy flowing into Team GEAR there is some freaky magic stuff going on that makes them all perfectly synchronize. I wouldn't be surprised to find if all of Team GEAR's hearts beat in perfect synch.

The Super Heavy Assault Bow was pieced together by Alexandria's research team back on base specifically for Aquila's use.
Given that they had just five days I'm quite impressed they managed to put together such an amazing weapon. It's more damaging (600 base vs. 500 base) and faster (2 APT vs 1 APT). Although it does miss out on Soul-Severer's Judgement Ability.

Almost twenty skeletons are blasted to pieces less than three seconds into the "fight".
Mooks have a tendency to simply disintegrate from being in Team GEAR's presence.

You hit the top of the stairs and leap off them with a shout, while the rest of Team GEAR catches up.

Spawn of Chaos (x6): 1,500 - 13,936 = -12,436 Health Remaining
Skeletal Assault Knight (x5): 1,000 - 15,224 = -14,224 Health Remaining)

An unfocused trail of energy follows your blade in a wave in a subconscious act to expand your swing radius. And the light shears through everything in its path. The last of the Spawn are slaughtered in the one attack
I would like people to note that Nepgear just splattered 11 monsters with a single regular swing of her sword. Also it seems that Nepgear's grown so powerful that energy just leaks from her blade.

...given the comparisons Nepgear made between her Purifier Beam and a release valve the idea that it's leaking is quite concerning because that only tends to happen when the container is becoming over-pressurized!

"Don't worry, Sega will catch up." She was reliable like that, though it might take her a bit depending on what was happening over at the barricade. You didn't worry too much, though. "Let's get a move on."
I bet you Sega gets distracted by Rei running her hands through Sega's hair.

Right behind them is Brilliant Key, with Gabriel taking up the back of the group, the both of them talking about… something, in hushed voices. Considering Brilliant Key keeps stealing glances past the group at you, you have a pretty good idea what the topic is.
Actually Nepgear you have a pretty good idea what the subject of their discussion is not what the topic is. They could be talking about how good a team leader you are, wondering how you get you're hair looking so amazing, or discussing how long it will be until you bump Brilliant Key down to #13.

Incidentally the answer to that question is: Earlier today.

Well theoretically there are some other people who could kill Nep-Nep in a single attack. Well if you are being loose with the definition of a "person" since the first that comes to mind is the Nightmare of Flesh which have a Divinity ranked Auto-Kill ability.

"Her offensive abilities, while not as great as her defensive ones, are still fuck-off powerful.
That's just because we haven't felt the need (yet) to grab Level 20 Celestial Severance with it's minimum (Unstoppable) damage of 52,428,800 and average damage of 104,857,600 plus whatever unlocks at Level 20.

You blink, and everyone else drops their conversations to look directly at her. "No… her real strength lies in how she can make everyone around her even stronger than they already are! Just walking next to her makes us ridiculously resistant to enemy attacks! Regular mortals? Like you guys? Your monstrous abilities aren't natural, not even close! Seriously, if I put even a third of this up on ToHO, then no one would believe me!
Random ToHO Poster: "Stop posting your Mary Sue OP OCs noob!"

I like how she just of handily mentions that Team GEAR is monstrous even without Nepgear boosting them to ludicrous levels. Although I'm a bit confused/concerned about the bit about them being the same tier as an "above average" Magical Girl. The average Magical Girl is pretty damn weak after all so being above average isn't really that great. Unless she's referring to what Team GEAR can do without Nepgear's assistance in which case yeah they would be about that level.

"She's a fucking flying fortress, while at the same time a font of outright implausible power! The fuck did you do to get so strong?
Nepgear: "Oh nothing much, I just sold my humanity for power. You know you're standard stuff. Now I'm just a small ball of pink energy wearing my old body as a meat suit."

You run across four more "patrols" before you manage to reach the next courtyard, and Sega still hasn't caught up for some reason, but you're not worried about it. Something tells you that she's perfectly fine.
Beat that motherfucker with that motherfucker and watch the bones fly everywhere!
For some reason though, whenever you wonder how she's doing you get this feeling of amusement… Strange.
Apparently Nepgear and Sega have developed some kind of emphatic communication.

You are honestly confused as to the purpose this one served, for there is only a single significant feature within it: a small stone bench.

But upon that bench rest two of the girls that you had come to retrieve.

*Image Snip*
Am I the only one who wondered where Solar Radiance put all that hair if she's lying on a small bench? Seriously she has crazy massive amounts of hair.

Former #6. Solar Radiance, the Unconquerable Sun.

And Former #7. Lunar Radiance, the Savage Moon.

A duo that had spent their entire Magical Girl careers with one another. It had been an open secret that they were in love, but refused to pursue any legal confirmation of such. Together, they had been considered the equal of any of the Old Guard, if not one of the Goddess Four.
So apparently gay marriage is legal under the laws of the Akashic Piller. Makes sense with all the Magical Girls. Good to know in case Nepgear ever ends up actually pursuing JC.

"Hmm? Lily, we seem to have visitors." The pure silver violin that Lunar Radiance had been playing melts in her hands, and fuses with her arm, while Solar Radiance, who had been resting her head in Lunar's lap slowly sat up.
...Did Lunar Radiance eat a violin? Because I'm so very interested in what's going on here.

Also; I ship Solar/Lunar!

Beautiful.

The thought locks into your mind immediately when the two of them look towards you. Theirs was an unnatural beauty. The kind that you could only see in a CGI anime, or master artist. Completely blemish free, and symmetrical to literal perfection, you found them too beautiful to be attractive. Instead, they simply ignited a primal fear in you that refused to be doused.
Huh. Too beautiful to be attractive. Would you rate that Appearance 5 or Appearance 1?

Then they both speak as one.

"Heart of the Wild."

"Solar Excellency."
Why is it Nepgear always lets the other side go first? She's suppose to have narrative weight backing up her dammit! Clearly we need to throw her into crazier scenarios to wipe out her tendency to stand there gobsmacked.

*Image Snip*
Oooh its a snake!

Solar Radiance raises a hand and points directly at your team, and your instincts scream at you. "DODGE!"

Everyone dives out of the way… though for once Gabriel is slightly too slow.
This is what happens when you're a nine foot tall behemoth with equally massive wings. Nepgear being so tiny makes hitting her actually hard.

The light distorts slightly as it hits a shimmering veil of Light… but doesn't stop. Gabriel, mid-dive, squeezes her eyes shut and crosses her arms in front of her face. By the sound of her scream as the light hits, it does little to help.
Gabriel: "Oh God not the face! Not again!"

Her momentum carries her out of the path of Solar's attack, and she lands heavily on her side. The gauntlets on her forearms are slightly melted from the exposure to the heat, and smoke -or steam- rises off her in waves.
Well if the gauntlets are made from anything tougher then wax then yeah it's definitely steam. I wonder if cooked Angel smells anything like cooked human? Nepgear probably knows.

"I'm alright." Her eventual reply sends a jab of relief through you. "It just hurt really bad… third mission, only my second injury. I think this is some kind of record."
The good kind of record? Because if going a whole one mission without getting injured is considered good...

You ignore the joke and turn back to Solar and Lunar, who had surprisingly waited for the exchange to pass.
"See, what'd I tell you?!"
Solar smiles at you, "Shall we begin?"
Huh. I wonder; was that Invisible Text Insight saying "I told you they are untouchable badasses!" or Solar and Lunar talking?

Well theoretically there are some other people who could kill Nep-Nep in a single attack. Well if you are being loose with the definition of a "person" since the first that comes to mind is the Nightmare of Flesh which have a Divinity ranked Auto-Kill ability.
NoF is one of those ones that got in before the quality expectation went up, and whether it will remain canon is up in the air.
The Paleblood Moon is definitely canon though, and has an Auto-kill Spell.
