Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

I'm... aliiiiiiiiiiiive~

@crystalwatcher - Does Sam actually need to know where the Control Seal is? Because from past usage:
Not really no. But it lets him confirm his targeting.

Purge requires a specific target for everything within the blast zone. Otherwise it just hits the everything. That's why he didn't fire it into the melee when Michael jumped on Sega's back.

Hm. @crystalwatcher - How does The Unrivaled Radiance of The Sun effect ICORE? I was assuming it doubled the amount of damage that gets through but thinking about it I'm starting to suspect @kelllogo is correct here:
It reduces the reduction.

The thing to note though is that IC breaks away from the "rounding to the most inconvenient point" though. Instead of always rounding down, when IC hits a decimal it'll round up instead. So instead of reducing damage by 49% under Unrivaled Radiance, it reduces it by 50%.

That is 60% of Nepgear's Health gone in a single attack. Now if No Longer Human works, but honestly given how powerful Unstoppable is I doubt it, the damage drops down to 16,181 so it only takes 45% of Nepgear's Health but either way we're pretty boned.
Unstoppable is still reduced by No Longer Human.

No Longer Human is exactly that. A marker than the given individual is no longer human. Damage that would outright kill any Human from Michael to Rei wouldn't really register on them.

For example: Nepgear could take an axe to the neck and have her head "lopped" off her body. But if she doesn't acknowledge "that would kill me" the body modifiers associated with it wouldn't trigger, and her head would remain in place despite the fact it should be rolling across the ground. Same for any limbs that are technically severed from her body.

That's what it means by "negate body damage modifiers".

We don't know. Maybe, maybe not. We'd have to try it to find out unless @crystalwatcher decides to be nice.

Mechanical questions like that tend to get answered. "What does this do" questions are far less likely to be answered.
Shapeshifting can't be de-spelled.

I'm debating whether or not telling you all the other way to knock her out of snake form is spoilers or not.

Of course, none of this takes into account the gradual increase over time in the standards expected of canonized sheets :V
I should probably go through all the canonized sheets and cut out the ones that don't fit those standards...

(I have the suspicion that Unstoppable is meant to be on the bypassing Abilities list here)
Unstoppable isn't on the list because it doesn't bypass that. /WordofGodMotherfucker

Do any of the many 'fuck you' abilities on the snake form's weapons bypass 'Merely' Human or To Stand Amongst Gods (perhaps Omnipresent)?
For example: Nepgear could take an axe to the neck and have her head "lopped" off her body. But if she doesn't acknowledge "that would kill me" the body modifiers associated with it wouldn't trigger, and her head would remain in place despite the fact it should be rolling across the ground. Same for any limbs that are technically severed from her body.
I am suddenly tempted to create a sheet for a dullahan themed magical girl :V
The thing to note though is that IC breaks away from the "rounding to the most inconvenient point" though. Instead of always rounding down, when IC hits a decimal it'll round up instead.
So when her Health is low, Nepgear is immune to all attacks that do flat damage exactly equal to the target's current Health?

For instance, if she's at 1 Health, an Unstoppable attack dealing 1 damage would be reduced by 99%, dealing 0.01 damage, which rounds to 0 damage?
Shapeshifting can't be de-spelled.

I'm debating whether or not telling you all the other way to knock her out of snake form is spoilers or not.
Good to know.

This will require some thinking. Best I can think of off the top of my head is to somehow forcibly trigger Monsters In The Night, which is mutually exclusive with the transformation.

So @crystalwatcher, we know that Disintegrate reduces Resilience by 10% of damage dealt, and we know Erase is similar but reduces Resilience more. Could we go ahead and get an explanation as to how much more Resilience Erase destroys?

Why can't we just Core Purge and dive Nepgear, with her absurd 190 MPH flight, into Super-Snek and burn her seal of her body while everyone else runs distraction? Hell that should get her in range of Solar too.

the thing is, we want to keep core purge in reserve for goddess gray. If its a known ability they will know we can free any mg we want in a turn so they will not let any of them near us.

Why can't we just Core Purge and dive Nepgear, with her absurd 190 MPH flight, into Super-Snek and burn her seal of her body while everyone else runs distraction? Hell that should get her in range of Solar too.
Because Core Purge is our secret weapon that becomes far less useful the moment our enemies find out about its existence.

We don't even need Flight to win with Core Purge, because it's basically a 50 meter Omnipresent effect. You know how big 50 meters is? That's half the length of an American Football field! With it, Nepgear can instantly beat both of them without moving a muscle!

I hate the "Too Awesome To Use" trope as much as the next guy, but "save it for the right moment, when you're completely fucked without it" is the right approach here.

Red Rose said that these were her closest friends. Once the seals are off we should have a good chance of convincing them to leave peacefully. (She said the four of them were her closest friends, where does that leave White Soul?) Even better if they pass out and wake up next to Goddess Gold :drevil:.

Solar Radiance is standing on Lunar Radiance. We can't throw a flashbang so it stays next to her (leaving aside the possiblity that someone embodying the sun might be immune to glare), it would roll off of Lunar Radiance. I'd suggest using Sam's Your Next Line Is... (dazzle) or Insight's Your Next Words Will Be... (stun) spell in it's place. Leaning towards Sam myself, I think Insight, Red Rose, and Brilliant Key should be allowed to tie the snake in knots without Team GEAR making demands of them.

In my opinion, the whole point of the ramming plan is to avoid using Core Purge.

Core Purge can OHKO both of their Seals without Nepgear moving an inch, and there's nothing they can do to stop here.

Revealing the existence of Core Purge means that the UD becomes aware that it exists, and Core Purge from too far away to be negated is basically the only chance we have of surviving a serious encounter with Goddess Gray before obtaining our own Overwhelming Presence.

This mission is probably going a long way towards building up the reputation needed to obtain Overwhelming Presence though.
Thanks, revising.
Also, I just checked. Solar doesn't have flight. We're in an open area with no flight ceiling, correct?
[]Plan Guided Nep Warhead
-[]Sam uses Your Next Line Is... on Solar
--[]Ram Solar at top speed, and drive her up as high as possible.
---[]Once Solar is going up at 190 mph, search her for the seal and destroy it.
-[]Sam uses Unlock on Lunar as soon as possible
--[]Everyone on the ground:
---[]Don't die
---[]Find the seal and destroy it.

This better?
I'm still uncertain about the Lunar part.

Oh yeah, grammar instinct popping up: you lot who're using "smited" in your mock calculations should be aware that that's not a word. The past participle of "smite" is "smote"; however, in this case Smite is being used as a proper noun, so you should just be writing Smite.
I was going to use "Smote" but I was fairly sure Crystalwatcher used something else so I checked; he used "smited" so I used it to stick with the existing tradition.

Everyone else probably just copied me.

To answer ReaperofInterest's question we would need to buy 25 levels of IC to avoid Solid Core dying from Erase there. Even more if Solar Radiance charges SCB a few more times.

The first objective has to be the snake. Solar can kill us really fast, Lunar can intsagib anyone on Team GEAR. Supremacy Zone may allow us to negate attacks (I have the suspicion that Unstoppable is meant to be on the bypassing Abilities list here) until Nepgear gets dragged down to earth.
The real killer is if one of the poison snakes deploy their gas. That drops everyone's Base Resilience down by 99% thanks to Total Armor Destruction and that reduction stacks with Erase:
Total Armor Destruction: 99% Base Resilience debuff. Stacks with other Resilience Debuffs like Shred and Disintegrate.

So with the poison gas attack everyone is vulnerable to a OHKO bite from a poison snake head.

I think we should start this fight by having Anastasia body check Solar Radiance away from Lunar Radiance, then using Core Purge on her. This would keep her from being killed by Lunar Radiance's poison cloud and means she isn't being hit by a (admittedly mostly fluff) body moving at 190mph while unconscious.
As someone else said Core Purge is an auto-win if we deploy it. It's just something we want to save until absolutely necessary.

Eh, I can see prioritizing either or being viable. If Solar is taken down by Purging the seal, then 'Unrivaled Radiance' is shut down, and our survivability goes back to normal. We can totally take ~280 Total End Damage no problem. Even with Erase eroding our Resilience, we'd be fine. Then everyone can just worry about dealing with the Doom Snek.
Problem with Erase is that if your BR hits 0 you die. No ifs, no ands, no buts. You hit 0BR thanks to Erase and you auto-die.

I'm... aliiiiiiiiiiiive~
Glad to see you.

Not really no. But it lets him confirm his targeting.

Good to know. Solar Radiance is tough enough she can tank a pair of Purges but her Control Seal isn't. The trick is hitting her since she's probably out of range and has Intercept on her weapon.

Damn. Honestly 49% or 50% really doesn't matter since either way it's still a fifty fold increase in damage we take.

Unstoppable is still reduced by No Longer Human.

No Longer Human is exactly that. A marker than the given individual is no longer human. Damage that would outright kill any Human from Michael to Rei wouldn't really register on them.

I suspected as much but it's good to get confirmation on all that.

Shapeshifting can't be de-spelled.

I'm debating whether or not telling you all the other way to knock her out of snake form is spoilers or not.
Damn. That would have been a great solution. Oh well.

@crystalwatcher - While I have you here; the Disintegration tree leaves a debuff based on the attack's damage. My question is what part of the damage? Is it the base damage? The Total Damage? The Final End Damage? Something Else?

Because Core Purge is our secret weapon that becomes far less useful the moment our enemies find out about its existence.

We don't even need Flight to win with Core Purge, because it's basically a 50 meter Omnipresent effect. You know how big 50 meters is? That's half the length of an American Football field! With it, Nepgear can instantly beat both of them without moving a muscle!

Um, hate to spoil your parade, but the Snake is well over 50 metres in length, so Nepgear would have to get right into that mass. And Solar Radiance has two enemy action negations available to use.

Well, we didn't really have any indication that this was a kaiju fight, rather than a mere giant monster (reminder that Godzilla is 100 meters tall).

Regardless, having its entire body in range is irrelevant though. We would just need a significant portion to be in range. And their lack of High-Speed Combat means that Nepgear can activate Core Purge and then fly towards them faster than they can react.

I dont see why everyone is worried about UD finding out about Core Purge. For them to know about it, someone needs to tell them, and if we convert the Radiances, its not like anyone here would go to the UD and tell them how we did it. They cant automatically know when we pull out some new piece of bullshit. Its like how they did not know we freed Sega from the command seal because there was no one to see and inform them of it, especially with their spy network gutted. We can always say Samael did it if we need a story for public consumption.

[-] Plan Hurtful Words
-[-] Solid Core will immediately fly towards the Radiances, when they perpare to block say [PEACE]. That should get their attention.
-[-] Samael should cast Purge twice at Solar Radiance once Solid Core has their attention.
-[-] Everyone else does whatever they think is best. Likely taking cover.

This gets Solid Core into the air, our opponents are Epic so they shouldn't melt from [CONCEPTUAL] speech. It important to try and get as close as possible before SPEAKING, otherwise our teammates also get the effect.

EDIT: I was remembering something that never actually happened :V.

They're still human though. ...Kinda... if you squint and turn your head side-ways... They might actually survive that having been soul/mind-fucked by their patrons.

I wouldn't actually bet on it though.

Yeah, I don't think that Existence Bonuses are directly related to Conceptual Language stuff.

It does bring to mind one other thing I've been wondering about though. Are mortals who lack a growth affinity, but have a total number of affinities approaching that of a Divine Being considered to have an elevated conceptual weight to their existence (compared to other mortals)? I'm talking beings such as Grand Archangel Gabriel, who had two more affinities than what is standard for her species.

Well, the Hydra from Dragon's Dogma, which is the source of the snake's pic, is damn huge and I can buy it being longer than 50 meters. Thankfully, most of its body is either curled behind it so it can keep its heads up and ready to snap at whatever is in front of it or being used to slither around at surprisingly fast speeds, So chances are most of it's lenght is going to be close to the ground and not contributing to its height. It's body is also ridiculously resistant to damage in the game, so the only real way to kill it is to cut its heads off until it runs out of health, preferably with fire so it can't regrow them quite as fast.

But that strategy isn't going to work here because not only is the snake considerably more dangerous here, it probably doesn't have a limit on the number of heads and it has a resistance to thermal attacks so we can't pull a Hercules either. Safest bet? MGs distract Lunar while Samael Purges the damn Sanke. The Purge apparently targets everything around the target so it should hurt both the Hydra-Lunar and the Control Seal, and between the two i'd say Lunar can take it for far longer than the Seal.

Purge requires a specific target for everything within the blast zone. Otherwise it just hits the everything. That's why he didn't fire it into the melee when Michael jumped on Sega's back.
If the seal is still on her while she's Shape-shifted, then it'll be caught in the Purge. Between it and Gabriel and Gold's Damage Auras, it should go down in short order.

Jesus christ guys, if THIS isn't the time to deploy Core Purge, then when the hell is the right time? We're getting into too awesome to use territory here. Besides, unless you think they have magical watchers on them, who the hell is going to know how we did it besides our side?

[x]Plan Just Use Core Purge
-Everyone runs a distraction on Solar and Lunar
-Meanwhile, Nepgear flies close enough that she can guarantee a hit on both seals with Core purge no matter where they may be located.
-CORE PURGE

-CORE PURGE

Lets be honest. If we don't do this within the first 3 ticks, we WILL take fatalities. The situation is just too lethal for the rest of the team. The big problem right now is the special rules in play. I honestly think Goddess Grey, when she's by herself, is a less problematic issue. We have other good ways to deal with her.

I honestly think Goddess Grey, when she's by herself, is a less problematic issue.
Then you are severely underestimating Goddess Gray.

We can handle this without casualties and without Core Purge. The key is exploiting Nepgear's speed to separate our opponents so that they can't work together (they are strongest when unified), and then have Red Rose stall the giant doom snake.

Then the rest of the team works on a mix of healing, destroying Seals, and helping Nepgear stall Solar.

Being able to accelerate to 190 MPH in a blink of an eye is not to be underestimated when facing opponents who can't react to things that are moving even close to that speed!

Guys, please remember something VERY important. If we die, we drop a mindfucking blade called Gehaburn. We don't need to drop a Gehaburn, but doing something stupid will cause us to drop one. Therefore, if you are ready to bust out Core Purge, I recommend this plan instead:

[] [Radiance] Core Purge Unleashed
-[] Samael will use Your Next Line Is... to stun Solar Radiance. Insight will use Quantified Combat to negate all of Lunar Radiance's attacks.
-[] Solid Core will activate Core Purge after designating the two Radiances as friendly, and their Control Seals as hostile. She will then fly towards them, making sure that they are both within 50 meters of her.
--[] If Lunar Radiance's Seal is not instantly popped, Solid Core is to begin flying around Lunar, trying to get the Seal within Core Purge's AOE.
-[] Gabriel is to catch Solar Radiance if she falls from Lunar's head.
-[] Everyone is to take cover until the battle is over.

This vastly decreases the chance of us dying, and uses Core Purge to take care of the Radiances. Everyone's happy!
