Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

The Echo of Peace: 9,902 Damage Reduction

Gabriel says, "Bring it on, bro!": 4,000 Base Resilience, +542 Dice, +4,500 Judgement, +344 Extra Dice, +1,000 Braced for the Blow, +780 Divine Inspiration (Shell), +500 Divine Shield = 11,666 Damage Reduction

Gabriel Takes 0 Total End Damage!

I've said it before and I'll say it again; Gabriel is our most bullshit teammate.

... I'm... not sure? I usually go with heavier music.
Have to agree here. I just finished listening to the entire song and it doesn't really feel appropriate to such a moment, especially given the quest's tendency towards heavy music.

Yes? <----- is not seeing the problem here*
If I had to guess, that's probably correct. Originally, it was just "Wind | Earth", but after she got a Core Connection, "(Divinity)" showed up on her sheet. So blame Nepgear.
Pretty sure that when I asked about the implications of that before, crystalwatcher said that it was a typo. Lucky is the only member of Team GEAR who has (Divinity) listed under her Affinities.

If Lesser Gods makes that stop being a typo, then I'm once again curious about the questions I asked before (now if only I could find them.........).

Oh god...Uni missed! How many people are dead?

Grabbing this ASAP is important because Nepgear already knows she has splash damage issues so it's better to start on the higher damage soon so she can learn to get a hold of it faster.

Furthermore since Nepgear's ability to cast spells is tied to her Attacks Per Turn Level 20 is extra important since that's when she unlocks her fifth APT. Oh and Purifier Beam probably gains Faith as an Affinity or another ability.
I disagree with this. I actually think that it would be easier to learn how to deal with the splash damage issue with a lower leveled weapon. Remember, as our damage increases, so does the size of the area we hit. Our Purifier Beam's already big enough to completely engulf a Hell Beast, which is apparently pretty big from what I've gathered throughout the quest. We're going to have a hard enough time learning how to shrink that, so let's waut to increase our beam size until after we've gotten the collateral damage issue down, ok?

Oh god...Uni missed! How many people are dead?
My guess is probably JC choked rather then missed. From there I'm guessing Gabriel either stepped in to block an attack against JC or just flat out taunted Sixth Heaven into attacking her (Gabriel) as part of a "Don't worry JC! We're badass enough to take this bitch. Just fire your cannon!" and so stood there and tanked the blow like a Super Boss!

Well...

Here's the full scene if anyone has any suggestions for appropriate music for Gabriel's badassery.

"HYAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! WHAT DO YOU PLAN ON DOING, YOU STUPID LITTLE ANGEL?! I, WHO WIELDS THE POWER TO TEAR THE GODS FROM THEIR HEIGHTS?!" The sound of madness in Sixth Heaven's voice is growing as she takes contemptuous swings at the surviving defenders. But one stands firm.

Wings of pure white are extended to their maximum, the aura of her Light almost blinding to look upon. Gabriel stands defiant amongst the ruined corpses of the Security Team.

"I am the Inheritor of Light! And though I may be young, I shall stand against your Darkness Abomination!" It's slight, but Uni can see the slightest tremor of fear flow through her form. "I won't run!" It is an inspiring sight, and it angers the Dark Girl fiercely.

"Is that so? Then I guess you'll die standing then." She rears back an arm, and the massive skeleton follow suit. Standing atop the deck, Gabriel pulls both her Blade as well as the Soul-Severer that had rested within it's sheath until this moment. She crosses the twin blades, and lays them flat again her shoulder, bracing her whole body for the incoming blow. "DIE ESPOUSING YOUR DEFIANCE, AGENT OF GOD!"

The bony fist comes down like an avalanche of fury. The Angel's brilliant Light flares, and she throws everything she has into halting the onrush of power.

And when they meet... it is a clash that legends are made from. The surface of the deck visibly caves beneath the Angel's feet as her wall of light holds back the assault from one of the most powerful girls of all time.

(Demon King Casts Fist: 2,500 Base Damage, +47 Dice, Godlike Strength Negated, +500 Stationary Target, x5 Divine Existence = 15,235 Total Damage

The Echo of Peace: 9,902 Damage Reduction

Gabriel Takes 0 Total End Damage!

Gabriel: 30,000 - 0 = No Sold, Like A Super Boss)

And she holds. The tidal wave of power that rocks the Messenger blows dust into the air for thousands of meters around the transport. The ground itself rumbles beneath the fury of the Dark Girl, but before the Angel's defenses, it is found lacking. Gabriel stands, surrounded by a dome of light, her eyes aglow with raw power, and the skeleton fist of the Demon King is held at bay, three inches from the blades across her shoulder.

And then, before your stunned eyes, she begins to push back.

"And when I die... IT WON'T BE TO THE LIKES OF YOU!" The Angel of Team GEAR throws aside the fist of the Demon King. The titanic clash between the opposing forces, cracking it even more than it had been from Solid Drive's spell. The blast wave from the released forces almost tears Samael from his feet.

My current idea is this, but it doesn't feel quite right:

Your ninja was so far beyond perfect...

If you still need soundtrack suggestions, these two start slow but ramp up pretty fast.

...

Well...

She... tried at least. She tried really hard.

... But dat damage and those reductions~
:o
Really hoping this is Sixth Heaven your talking about here. In that she tried really hard to kill someone but our reductions prevented that and JC's damage killed her before she could do more then kill some mooks.

Edit:
Actually looking at my numbers; did Gabriel just solo Sixth Heaven? Because Gabriel can hurt her, seriously, every turn and in return can't take a single point of damage.

Double Edit:
This is Gabriel vs. Sixth Heaven's Demon King:
(Blade of Light: 12,000 Base Damage, +550 Dice, +780 Divine Inspiration (Shell), +500 Hostile Divinity Effect, +4,500 Judgement, +14,400 Road to Peace = 32,730 Total Damage
Blade of Light: 12,000 Base Damage, +550 Dice, +780 Divine Inspiration (Shell), +500 Hostile Divinity Effect, +4,500 Judgement, +14,400 Road to Peace = 32,730 Total Damage
Blade of Light: 12,000 Base Damage, +550 Dice, +780 Divine Inspiration (Shell), +500 Hostile Divinity Effect, +4,500 Judgement, +14,400 Road to Peace = 32,730 Total Damage

98,190 Total Damage

Intercept!

Demon King: 2,500 Base Damage, No Dice, +9,000 Overwhelm, +300 Legendary Power, +3,125 Godlike Strength, 5x Existence Bonus = 74,625 Total Damage

23,565 Difference, Angel Gabriel wins.

Demon King: 5,000 Base Resilience, No Dice, +300 Legendary Existence, -1,250 Armor Pierce = 4,050 Damage Reduction

19,515 Total End Damage

Demon King: 25,000 - 19,515 = 5,485 Health Remaining
If Sixth Heaven was sufficiently off kilter from Gabriel no-selling her then it's possible Gabriel went straight through the Demon King in a single blow.

Two things I don't think you took into account here. First off, I'm not sure that Godlike Strength procced since it can be negated by a 5-1 damage advantage and if not for the x5 existence bonus Sixth gets, it definitely wouldn't. Second off, Sega used Clothing Break on the Demon King, which reduced it's resilience by 65%.

If Gabriel learned Intercept midbattle (which the battle snippet crystalwatcher posted implied) and Godlike Strength was negated, then the Intercept conflict results in the Demon King getting oneshot by Gabriel.

Even if Godlike Strength wasn't negated, Gabriel gaining Intercept would mean that the full 23,565 Difference would be dealt as Health damage to the Demon King, leaving it with a mere 1435 Health remaining.

Well that calculation was done before the current plan and I assumed, for safety, that it always passed the 5-1 damage advantage check. Because on a Base Damage comparison it's within 5-1 (2,500 * 5 = 12,500 vs 12,000) and on a Total Damage (excluding Godlike Strength) comparison it's also within 5-1(59,000 * 5 = 295,000 vs 98,190).

If we drop the Demon King's Base Resilience by 65% then:
(Blade of Light: 12,000 Base Damage, +550 Dice, +780 Divine Inspiration (Shell), +500 Hostile Divinity Effect, +4,500 Judgement, +14,400 Road to Peace = 32,730 Total Damage

Demon King: 1,750 Base Resilience, No Dice, +300 Legendary Existence, -437 Armor Pierce = 1,613 Damage Reduction

19,515 Total End Damage

Demon King: 25,000 - 21,952 = 3,048 Health Remaining

As for the remaining 3k damage; well absolute surprise can clock in at -1,000 resilience:
The Time Walking Blade: 3,000 Base Damage, +2,325 Dice, +10 Surprise, x3 CRUSH = 11,335 Total Damage
Maiden of the West: 10,000 Base Resilience, +799 Dice, -1,000 Holyshitwhatthefuck = 9,799 Damage Reduction
and being hit in a vulnerable spot, which Gabriel could probably manage, can easily make up the last 2k needed.
