Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

Hoping the sisters vote wins, since considering the nature of magical girls, all of them at some point committed at least one friendly fire incident knowingly or unknowingly due to their powers, was hoping they could help Nep deal with it as they say a burden shared is a burden halved since those two might have some experience.
Wonder if that other Drive's death was a result of Sega being forced to kill or something.

Makes me wonder if UL would willingly lie to their magical girls in order to reduce their mental trauma or add to their burdens.
Honesty whatever the update we really need to work on ensuring that Nepgear can move on since Truth's death can easily be used against her in one of those cliché magical girl nightmare/fear attacks we will be seeing again.

We're kinda immune to those now.
Unless you mean just normal Break Them By Talking.

Riiight, 'm going to bed early today because it's time for the semi-regular event of my shitty sleep schedule to catch up to me, but before I go, have a tally.

Is it Medusa, one of the worst parents in all of anime?
No, her kid Chrona. I plan for him/her to be named Magical GIrl Black Blood, give her Blood and Myth Affinities in addition to whatever the highest-tier Insanity or Madness Affinity is, and have her been active for a while, long enough to have gotten a Super Ability called, you guessed it, The Black Blood. Effects include blood control, inducing madness in whatever poor soul is hit by it, increased toughness, and regeneration.

You mean "Crona", right?

One issue though is that Crona has no canonically revealed gender. Crona uses the personal pronoun shared by young boys and tomboys, other characters use neutral pronouns for Crona, can Medusa, the only one who would actually know Crona's gender, uses "it" to refer to Crona.

Doesn't really matter here, although it might be interesting to do a "we can't actually tell if this is a magical girl or if this is a practitioner".

I come baring an Omake! Specifically one spawned by the idea: "What if Nepgear was less stunned by betrayal?" I decided to make this omake because well I found it kinda odd. I suspect it ties into that comment about Nepgear not thinking like normal humans but frankly she really shouldn't have been anywhere that stunned or angry. Yes no one likes traitors but Blue Sky was basically a total stranger. Seriously we met her in MULTI GEAR (brief introduction and small talk that lasted 5min max), saw her again in SACRIFICIAL GEAR (brief reassurance White Knight would be fine + headpat, 1min at most), A third time in PEACEFUL GEAR (Truth's party* which went on for a bit but Nepgear didn't really interact with anyone), a fourth in BROKEN CORE GEAR/SCORPION GEAR (Mission briefing where she doesn't have a single onscreen line), a fifth in FRAGMENT GEAR (Apparently Ada was Nepgear's friend by this point.), and the final time in TRUTH GEAR.

*Actually I'm now very suspicious of what happened with Blue Sky. I'd expect Truth to throw one of her spy traps out in the party, since it seems that's what all her random parties are for, but if she did Blue Sky must have not tripped it. Very suspicious indeed. This suggests Blue Sky turning traitor is a recent thing... actually remember Gore's comment from a bit ago:
To add fuel to the fire: Blue Sky's family lived in(on?) Hope.
Maybe Goddess Red revived Blue Sky's family and used that to flip her. Might explain why she went for a last ditch attack rather then abusing her speed to escape.

Huh. That is a lot more times then I remembered. Honestly I only really remembered her from SACRIFICIAL GEAR which is understandable since that's when we see a picture of her and basically all her appearances have either one or zero onscreen lines. Still we've know her for like at most a couple hours spread out over 11 days. That's less a friend and more that nice waitress at a nearby coffee shop. While admittedly Nepgear hasn't spent much more time with Truth or Carnage they've both been involved in very memorable events with Nepgear (that battle for New York and that kissing threesome), Nepgear has actively sought them out specifically, and they've had a lot more screen time and lines.

Anyway that's getting off topic. Omake time!

Upon Butterfly Wings - TRUTH GEAR V1
Truth nods at her, "Reasonable, I suppose. Outnumbered as you are it's probably the only thing that has any real chance of working... Shall we?" She tosses the cup from her fountain drink aside, and everyone moves at once.

"Slaughter and Mayhem! I will dance in an ocean of your blood! I am Magical Girl Carnage!"

"Listen to the three wise monkeys, for they know the way! I am Magical Girl Truth!"

"Dance to the lights of my Summer Court! I am Magical Girl Summer Queen!"

"Sing to the instruments of my Winter Court! I am Magical Girl Winter Queen!"

"All it takes is a single clue, and I have you all figured out! For I am Magical Girl Insight!"

"Through me, the sky falls upon you! I am Magical Girl Blue Sky!"

"Kneel in the Darkness, and Burn in the Light! I am Magical Girl, SOLID CORE!"

A storm of colors floods the clearly, and the waves of power from the various transformations clash until yours overwhelms the others in a burst of Light. As the spots in your vision clears you see Blue Sky racing forwards, clearly trying to take advantage of everyone's temporarily blindness, to strike down Truth. Luckily you're fast on the draw and your Purifier Beam is up and firing just before she reaches Truth.

The beam that blasts forth from your weapon isn't the man-sized beam you remember from your earlier testing but something closer in size to Sega's pickup truck. Blue Sky had already built up too much momentum to even think about dodging, she could only hope to try and ride out the damage, so the pink titan slammed into her dead center. It was now that you saw just how much your Purifier Beam had changed since you last used it; for instead of the blast being absorbed by Blue Sky's armor/skin or blowing right through her it instead exploded sending you and everyone else flying.

Thinking quickly you focus your magic to harden the air behind you, providing you a solid platform to launch yourself forwards and upwards. Closing on the blast zone in fractions of a second you quickly begin searching for where Blue Sky might have been blown but the smoke and dust is reducing visibility to zero. The problem is swiftly taken out of your hands as a dozen lances of blue light slam into you.

You feel a sharp pain in your right leg as the beams impact it but the pain is easily ignored in favor of returning fire, using the faint trail the beams left as a guide. Once again the beam your Purifier Beam unleashes as you pull the trigger is closer to pickup truck sized then human sized and blows through the smoke and dust only to create even more as it detonates once more against some unseen target.

You jet around the artificial clouds searching for any trace of Blue Sky but find nothing. No trace of her, no further attacks, just nothing. Even as the smoke and dust begin to clear there is still not sign of Blue Sky. In the end you, and your fellow Magical Girls, spend an hour scouring the base but find no sign of Blue Sky.

(The Mobile Fortress: 1,170 Base Damage, +746 Dice, -292 Off Balance, Danmaku Not Activated = 1,624 Total Damage

Purifier Beam: 3,835 Base Damage, +154 Dice, +1,950 Juggernaut = 5,939 Total Damage

Solid Core: 700 Base Resilience, +151 Dice = 851 Damage Reduction

3,877 Total End Damage

Indestructible Core: 99% Reduction
No Longer Human: 50% Reduction

20 Final End Damage

Solid Core: 2,000 - 20 = 1,980 Health Remaining

Blue Sky: 2,600 Base resilience, Dice negated, -1,950 Juggernaut = 650 Damage Reduction

Yes. I always get confused by the spelling.

Technically, all we need is for Crona to identify as female for her to qualify as a magical girl. I honestly haven't decided if I should have Crona be born male or female myself.

I don't think that's how it would go. Blue Sky is just flat out too fast, and she would be too low to the ground for Supremacy Zone still, but Echo of Peace would trigger which means it would happen as canon, but Truth would have taken less damage from Blue Sky's hit and thus have survived... I think.

I think.

I've already shown the math that Echo of Peace activating on the initial hit would have saved Truth's life. Problem is that is basically a rehash of what happened in Truth Gear and so not really omake material. The initial intercept I put down to the fact Truth has Flight rather then Flight (Boosted) so she has to accelerate rather then jump straight to 190mph and thanks to Nepgear automatically going first (barring) surprise as per:
When battle starts, initiative goes to whatever group has the greatest call to surprise: for example if your characters bursts through the wall and starts shooting everything in sight, you get initiative. Or if a demon bursts through a wall and tackles you as, it gets initiative.

So on.

If neither side has a lead on surprise, then it boils down to relevance to the story. As Main Character, Anastasia will always have initiative in an open battle, regardless of speed. After she goes, then whoever has greater narrative importance to the story goes next. For example Rei Mitsubishi (Goddess Gold) has more narrative importance than someone like Carnage. Thus, Rei goes before Carnage. If two individuals have the same narrative importance then whoever has more attacks per turn goes.
I figure it's reasonable to say Nepgear attacked before Blue Sky was going too fast to catch.

Honestly the counterattack is the weakest part of the omake since it's the most unlikely, Blue Sky would totally fire and dodge, but everything else just leads to Blue Sky blitzing her way to the command center, killing everyone there, and then picking off VIPs until Sega shows up. Best explanation I have for the not dodging is probably that she's still rather dazed from Nepgear's initial attack, it took ~49% of her health, and the explosion it casused.

-Heart Mender can cause those around her to treat an individual as what they'd see as a "normal person" rather than the member of a hated, feared or disrespected group.

I gave into temptation and made Hikari. She probably needs to be nerfed to not be ridiculously broken though. It's also making me curious as to how other magical girls from my quest would look. Pity that Shujin wouldn't really fit the setting.

Make the picture a hyperlink in the name, and drop at least half of those abilities. There's too many for a level 1 weapon.
Edit: I recommend the middle three for which ones to drop, but Limitless especially.

this is a disproportionately shitty spell. Like, it's legit awful.

As a passive, this should be an ability, not a spell.

This is quite strong.

Yeah, like...apparently Horror is a corruptive Affinity, and it's higher in that scale than Evil is. Purity is apparently near the top of the positive morality scale, and Summer and Winter are probably higher on their scales than Fire and Ice, respectively. Is there a tier for madness-based Affinities like Insanity and Madness, and what would the top Affinity of that tier be?

Not sure. At a guess, I'd say "insanity" and "madness" are higher up on that scale, while something like "mania" would be lower, but I don't know what would be the tippy-top of the "bugfuck nuts" pile.
