*stares at Goddess Red, walks away whistling*
they did use some kind of dowsing spell to find Sega at the graveyard......suddenly I'm wondering of Blue Sky was really a traitor or just someone who was killed, resurrected, and sent back as a spy without anyone realizing it.
Oh and unless Goddess Red has some kinda dead magical girl detector, which admittedly she might have, then an unmarked grave in a forest somewhere would work to keep Blue Sky from being resurrected. Tossing her into the ocean, far enough away that she doesn't wash back up, might also work since it would make getting at her sufficiently difficult.
Eh. If we sub in Nepgear's old damage:
(Purifier Beam: 1,137 Base Damage, +?? Dice, +568 RAGE = 1,705
Blue Sky: 2,600 Base resilience, Dice negated, -1,300 scared shitless of you, +1,200 Faster Combatant = 2,500 Damage Reduction
Truth: 125 Base Resilience, Dice Negated, -25 Can't do shit, +1,108 Echo of Peace = 1,208 Damage Reduction
Blue Sky 0 Total End Damage
Truth 497 Total End Damage
Truth Health: 1,066 - 497 = 569)
Truth would still be seriously hurt but Blue Sky would have flown away unscratched. As bad as things are they would have been worse if we hadn't killed Blue Sky when we did.Running the numbers we'd have needed at least 4,450 damage to kill Blue Sky and that would have also killed Truth. What's worse anything less then killing Blue Sky would have almost certainly resulted in her killing Truth, because as you point out that's a major gain for the Unified Darkness, before dying.
It's died down from the old days. I hate them too but I barely notice it anymore.
See my above math. Enough damage to kill Blue Sky would always kill Truth. For reference if we only bought to Level 13 Purifier Beam then this is what would have happened:
(Purifier Beam: 2,557 Base Damage, +?? Dice, +1,278 RAGE = 3,835
Blue Sky: 2,600 Base resilience, Dice negated, -1,300 scared shitless of you, +1,200 Faster Combatant = 2,500 Damage Reduction
Truth: 125 Base Resilience, Dice Negated, -25 Can't do shit, +2,492 Echo of Peace = 2,592 Damage Reduction
Blue Sky 1,335 Total End Damage
Truth 1,243 Total End Damage
Blue Sky Health: 3,900 - 1,335 = 2,565
Truth Health: 1,066 - 1,243 = -177)
So Truth dies and Blue Sky survives. An even worse scenario then what happened.
You have only yourself to blame. You could have chosen a series of actions that would have resulted in Truth's survival. Like one of the four other magical girls attacking fast enough that Blue Sky couldn't afford to carry Truth up into the sky with her.
...how the actual fuck did the traitor manage to get the jump on Truth when something like eight other Magical Girls had already transformed and were more than ready to intercept (and Truth herself was more than ready)?
190mph means 85m/s which is fast. I assume no one had the HSC required to react in time.
My guess would be either she was too angry to think and just reacted or she knew Blue Sky was too fast to catch up with and so took the only shot she could. And why would Nepgear use a fucking ranged attack against someone who had one of her allies in her hands?

None of that fight made any sense at all.

To add fuel to the fire: Blue Sky's family lived in(on?) Hope....suddenly I'm wondering of Blue Sky was really a traitor or just someone who was killed, resurrected, and sent back as a spy without anyone realizing it.

Crystalwatcher even dropped a hint on speed differentials earlier during xp spending, but dakka was more tempting
You have to Gehaburn for it to count for Wail, and you have to use your MG weapon for Gehaburn to activate.Even the narrative doesn't care, so he probably doesn't count for Wail of Madness.
Things should return to the regular "ohgodohgodohgod we are so fucked" missions soon enough. But yeah, two in two updates is making me more than a bit wary. If this trend is going to continue, can we just vote to snap and kill everyone already? Get it out of the way. At least then it would be our choice. :/
That would be the Wail of Madness path. You will have to excuse me, as I am not eager to follow it.But yeah, two in two updates is making me more than a bit wary. did we, at that point? I got here just a bit after, so I missed the discussion there.
Yep, I argued quite strongly for it.did we, at that point? I got here just a bit after, so I missed the discussion there.
Yep, we already knew about the control seal from the bad end and Core Purge's IFF. But people believed Core Purge = Bad End when it was really Being A Threat To Saber Alter = Bad Enddid we, at that point? I got here just a bit after, so I missed the discussion there.
There's no feasible way she could have had the initiative. They all saw the attack coming at least half a minute off. Even if Truth is not capable of moving as fast as Blue Sky, she's definitely capable of reacting quickly enough. And those other four magical girls would have been slowly moving into position while the talking was going on. Truth not being able to even defend against a single strike is bizarre; being grappled and rendered helpless in a single move is just unbelievable. To add fuel to the fire: Blue Sky's family lived in(on?) And Nepgear couldn't attack any other way.
They all had the same initiative as they transformed at the same time (which quite literally blew up in their faces). Blue Sky was not only markedly faster than everyone else there, she also massed more with her weapon, which is effectively a giant suit of power armor. There's no feasible way she could have had the initiative. I need to go to bed soon so I'll just preemptively emphasize this: We were the only ones present, other than Blue Sky herself, to possess High Speed Combat. Blue Sky is two times faster than what we can track, and we can track things going much faster than any of the others. They all had the same initiative as they transformed at the same time (which quite literally blew up in their faces). If you pay attention to the numbers section, you will note that Truth actually did receive a bonus for "saw it coming". It simply wasn't enough.
