Crystalwatcher's Magical Girl Quest!

Ni sure knows how to pick 'em.

Besides Nepgear, nobody there would have had enough attack power to get past Blue Sky's base resilience even if she'd stayed on the ground. Perks of having power armor as your MG weapon I guess.

*stares*

I hate you so much right now.
I would just like to congratulate @justinkal for his wonderfully insightful guesses as the how the update would play out.
Round of applause everybody.
Did I guess correctly and lessen the surprise, or did my statement influence the update itself? I'm feeling slightly responsible for Truth's death right now

So, will we be seeing an updated version of Blue Sky's sheet? Also, I'm more surprised that Nep only prevents her friends from reincarnating and not her enemies.

Even since I woke up earlier, there's been something on my mind. I wish I could contemplate on it, but staying on the computer for hours at a time causes problems for me nowadays, so I'll just jot down what I can immediately find in the main updates and save it for later.

If I missed one due to a misspelling, let me know.

How about we don't get Wail of Madness, and never bring it up again? Solid Core's sanity has enough strain on it without adding purposeful team-killing to it.

It's not purposeful at all! As we have proven, an accidental killing will work just fine. So we don't have to be evil. Just have horrible aim, or have to frag a friend to stop a worse objective. Although, is it only friends who are magical girls, or will any friend do?

As a reminder, I'm not saying we go evil and frag all our teammates for power. But if we do qualify for it, it's probably better to have it then not have it.

And even disregarding how horrible that is, you haven't even seen all the team goodies yet.

Wait, there's more after that?

Your tears of blood spread the beautiful color across Arise's charred body, but she pays no mind. "Don't worry... you... can... you are... strong..." She takes a wheezing breadth, and you can hear with focused clarity the shattered remains of her bones grind against each other. "Stronger... than... I ever... was..." And as her last word trails off you can feel her life slip away.

And under your absolute focus, you don't miss it when her soul slips into your chest, and is swallowed by the indescribable well of power from which you draw your abilities.

Your mind goes blank as what just happened hits you, and then you simply shut down.

you know what my reaction to this is? I think truth should have been worth more than 75 exp. maybe those dozens of civilians that we'll somehow murder when test out our combo spells will be worth more. This sort of oh hey you've killed your friend crap is something that should never be done without player input, but apparently the gm has quietly added teamkilling to neps sheet. But hey, at least this one is a character the players care about so it sticks out above the genral background of trauma unlike what's his face we killed last update.

if you wanted use to activate wail of madness could you at least have engineer some kind of mercy kill scenario or a combat encounter where we have a choice of shooting though a hostage or watching team gear die? or literally anything but "you're team killer now, K?" for fucks sake a false choice were either option would have the same outcome would have been better, at least that would maintain the illusion of player agency.

After what?

And seriously, there's been a few things unlocked that haven't shown up yet. Besides the obvious Synchronize, which has a huge bonus for those who have Core Connection, there's the Progenitor Golems, and some more secret stuff.
I'm pretty sure Gore is saying there is more team enhancing stuff after Small Gods. Basically it's an argument saying there is a bunch more "Buff Team" things out there so let's not go for the "Eat Team" stuff.
*shrugs*

Not what it was for.
some kind of mercy kill scenario
*points to Jessica*

That is remarkably similar to the original end resolution of the Blue Sky plotline!

Look, we debated this at length. You're not happy? We're not happy either. There was much discussion of how this would turn out, and how things would go if we managed to figure out some clever way to resolve this without Truth dying. And yes, leaving it to the players was something that was considered.

Also, on that topic, I'm rather surprised no one picked up the hints me and Lost provided, or guessed the outcome.

We did have that nice discussion on speed earlier.

And it basically boiled down to 'we need more XP' because otherwise they're just too fast to stop them from ganking our allies even if we're invincible. And/or hitting them without AoE spam.

Or at least, idk that was what I got from it.

Basically we'd need someone fast enough to stop her with us... and I don't think we know of anyone who was fast enough on base at the time? Now if Rei+Co weren't off base partying, and had came with us... we'd have been fine.

TLDR Blame older sister + Goddess Gold. :V

Edit: And Truth because Truth you always bring someone trustworthy to smack any other strong people that might be traitors. Especially if there is a chance they're a speedy type who could just suicide dive into the command tent because they go 10x faster than you and 2x faster than everyone else here.

Well, one upside to all of this is that nobody is going to let us go on any more missions until we learn how to control the power of our attacks.

Someone, but I'm not sure who, whom also has to tone down their attacks in most situations is definitely going to drag us off for some special training in a secluded area. Unless a new character is introduced, the most likely candidates feel like Rei (having too much power is kinda her entire shtick) and Judgement Core (giant beam attacks are kinda her entire shtick, and she would be tsun-ing about how she's helping because she doesn't want people saying that she was defeated by such an incompetent klutz).

It doesn't work that way. Notice the word "Madness" in the name "Wail of Madness". It only activates if Nepgear is so emotionally unstable that she stops thinking about her actions.

The more we allow giga into our nepnep the worse it affects us. It MADE us take the shot an kill truth.

We likely would have on our own, but has the invisitext says. "Gigaburn" will not e denied

Oh, yeah we could've put off the choice (as it sounded like apparently Blue Sky would've not gone) at least for another update or two. As she was 'revealed earlier' than planned or whatever.

*Shrug*
So yeah, I don't feel too bad about it because there wasn't much we could've done without having to plan updates ahead of time for this situation. (Or at least, anything I can think of...)

You are so optimistic. Given the feats Team GEAR and Nepgear have so far odds are we'll just be thrown into missions where collateral damage doesn't matter. Hell excessive collateral damage is kinda a running theme of our missions.

True, but it's likely that other magical girls will take personal offense at her lack of control.

Also that it's a traumatic experience that will probably make Nepgear be too terrified of her own power to fight seriously.
