Well, it's not as if we're actually disrupting anything by derailing. There's no new content to discuss and no votes to argue over. As long as Avalanche doesn't care and the server isn't about to explode, why should the mods?

Actually, I'm pretty sure most of it's been pretty on-topic insofar as it's mostly been kept to discussing the quest, the quest's world, and so forth.

Emphasis on the "most", of course.

A quest has a very broad range of topics, there's the plans to achieve goals, arguing about said goals, reactions to content, requests for world-building, vote trading, and so forth. Then there's the things that couldn't be argued to be on topic, but are worth reading anyways, like Florida being an alligator. And then there's the bullcrap that isn't even worth reading, mostly things along the lines of "this thread is sooo~oo crazy!".

Or triangles in reality vs triangles in a hypothetical plane.

When discussion metasizes into bullcrap it gets very difficult for future readers to view the discussion when they go through the updates. When these readers skip discussion I don't get likes on my stuff. To avoid this terrible fate we should all strive to ensure that our posts are worth reading, even if there's ~2000 posts to go.

Honestly as long as noone's aggressively arguing in here, why does it matter?

The quest posts are very slow, and the vote's been decided for months. Being silly from time to time helps keep people relaxed.

Avalanche's written an average of something like 190ish words of plot per page estimating by the word count in the threadmarks and accounting for threadmarks non-story posts. If a QM posted 190 word updates every page, we'd all say he writes ridiculously fast (I'm pretty sure we would, at any rate). Please do not slander the writer with false allegations :D

But he's still not the top poster in his own thread.

I continue to astound myself with how much I post. I don't even spend that much time here how'd I get #8?

How the hell did I get #17? I mean I haven't even been my earliest post was what page 469, I have (not counting this post) 200 posts in less then 200 pages. o_O
