I'm not sure I can handle these rolling things. They're bad for my heart. I'm happily reading the update then suddenly "FAILURE" and I'm put off on reading further.

[x] Hold back. Allow the others to do most of the work, see if Sandra can put her money where her mouth is. You're still going to intervene if you see one of them in danger though.

I know how you feel, I have a brief twinge of annoyance at the FAILURE and wonder about how well thing would have gone if the dice rolled higher.
As long as there isn't FAILURE/CRIT FAILURE in combat, it won't cause problems for me.
(Poor rolls being irritating might be something OCD related, or something.)

Yay, Anna is now officialy part of the Main Cast.

It still feels fake to us as long as we don't go berserk.

And more importantly, we want to know how well our flight mates handle a Type Zero.
Rather important to their training isn't it?
As long as we don't go berserk, but what is gonna happen if oogles of civilians & flightmates die?

I am not certain that it would happen, but I do expect a roll for it.

(I am genuinely curious why no vote wants to go in space)

But when is it not? It's the biggest risk to our flight mates, aside from Shuri none of them even KNOW how nasty Type Zeros get.

A Type Zero scenario sim would be good for getting Kojirou to actually have solid sights on a goal rather than "try to beat Anna at her own game"

I regret I have but one like to give you.

Wait, why the hell is everyone voting Hold Back?

This will probably be our Squad for a very long time- if something shitty happens, we need to be able to work together at our very best because otherwise it would totally screw with squad cohesion.

Which, if I have to spell it out for you, is bad.

Very bad.

Because berserking Anna has a solid chance of destroying the Simulation outright and then continuing to rampage.

We nearly did it by accident already, and letting our instincts take over is bad.

Apparently Anna only gets her buttons pushed when she sees a 'real' opponent threaten a friend.

To her the whole simulator thing reads like an illusion, so she's likely to get about as invested as she would reading a comic.

Because going all out from the start may result in Anna getting 'in the zone' or at least make her treat the 'deaths' of her teammates more seriously than she should.
@veekie, she treated one of her teammates saying that the virtual civilians didn't matter as an enemy who should die for a second in a previous sim, so Anna may get more emotionally invested in the sim as it goes along.

[X]Historic Scenarios (Difficult to Impossible)
[X]First Contact (Survival. As the name suggests. Survive the Antagonist attacks, protect the ICBMs on terminal approach, survive the resulting explosions)

[X]Use everything. No mercy, no calculus, no hesitation. No risk to the others. All you need is kill.

This is where it began. This is where something else will begin. This is where we can show to our teammates exactly what target they have set themselves. Hold nothing back. This is your test for them. If they can still say that they will aspire to the same heights after having seen The Monster, then they are worthy, and we can put our all into training them and keeping them alive until they too become Peerless.

Bread-chan is undeterred.

Our flight is going to be pretty disappointed when we don't participate in the Tournament I guess.

Bad news is there is a user named anna.

Good news is the last time she logged on was in November 2014
Man, I'd feel pretty weirded if I logged into a forum after a couple of months absence and had a couple of dozen tags in a quest I've never heard of.

I actually want her to break down, fry the simulator so bad that the hardware has to be replaced and put every one in the hospital for a week. That would be a fun scene to read. :)

Sandra×Anna, s.s. beauty and the beast? Enkidu's chains? What's a good name for this?

Anyway, reading and typing on a phone is hard. Where's the Alaskan scenario? Pit them against what Anna went through. See if they survive. If they do, we can maybe start relying on them.if not ...

Reading that particular bit, it looks like it's the attitude that's the problem, since when you look at the actual sim experience, she only reacted negatively when one of them had a targeting solution that included 'real' friendlies.

Either way, she can handle it mostly, as long as she uses her sensors fully.

S.S. Anna

Shuri x Sandra X Anna

It's the set of Moderate scenarios. Those are the events leading up to the "unexpected closure of the Saksatoon Breach"

Well regarding whether we hold back why don't we just ask and give Sandra her first executive decision?
Would something like this be acceptable?
[] Since there are two aces in the flight now, would you like Shuri and I to hold back further? Or should we stop for the next exercise and decide after that?
