Attempting to Fulfill the Plan MNKh Edition

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
With the strong lead and me already starting to write the military part for the airforce, its time to call the vote before I run out of things to write. Vote Called for:

I don't see our near-term programs as actually necessitating a higher ISP drive. We'd need to have actually finished a lunar landing and started to exhaust the probe possibilities enabled by a usable nuclear motor. Tugs are interesting but only will start to become justified when we have the capacity to do automated on-orbit docking, boosting, and propellant transfer. That's going to take many years to decades of effort.
Assuming the nuclear engines complete quickly, sure. But I was wondering if they might take 15 years or more. In which case decisions made now would influence what you can do in the space program decades from now.

Admittedly the vote is already called so we'll just have to see how things go in practise though, including if it will take long or not.

On a side note, it looks like our space station program is probably going to be a bit of a failure if it really got that '6' roll, wonder if we're looking at yet another cancel. Pretty unfortunate that. Well at least the inflatable roll is looking promising and the modernization will hopefully be good enough.

Blackstar has been silent on it for now, but I expect our station program to be wildly overambitious and run overbudget since the project blurb explicitly states we are seen as behind the Americans and so a low roll might lead us to try overcompensating.

Stalin watching us from Marxist heaven careen into a electricity crisis due to our economy outgrowing our available energy resources:

Article:
But the successes have their seamy side, especially when they are attained with comparative "ease" — "unexpectedly" so to speak. Such successes sometimes induce a spirit of vanity and conceit: "We can achieve anything!", "There is nothing we can't do!" People not infrequently become intoxicated by such successes; they become dizzy with success, loose all sense of proportion and the capacity to understand realities; they show a tendency to overrate their own strength and to underrate the strength of the enemy; adventurist attempts are made to solve all questions of socialist construction "in a trice." In such a case, there is no room for concern to consolidate the successes achieved and to utilise them systematically for further advancement. Why should we consolidate the successes achieved when, as it is, we can dash to the full victory of socialism "in a trice": "We can achieve anything!", "There is nothing we can't do!"

completely brutal LOL, rip ecosystem we hardly knew ye. Oh well, just more to fix after the next political shake up a decade from now, still the mid 20th century.
On the bright side, this is great for our profitability metrics!

It's honestly a bit disappointing that Goldwater wouldn't end up becoming President. Because the absolute mess that his administration could have been would be hilarious to read through.

We finally get around to some ecological work and the dice tell us to get stuffed. I guess we ride to valhalla on Earth-chan's diseased corpse.
Inflatable Section Experiments (1*0)+91=91
Station Program (1*0)+6=6
RLA Block Modernization (1*0)+25=25
That is an... interesting contrast. I'm guessing the Inflatable Sections will do well, but the fundamental mission profile if our stations will be so fucked that it doesn't help much?

The low modernization roll is unnerving, but 25 is usually high enough things aren't outright messy.

Overall though, a good turn. Atomash somewhat compensated for the mess of last turn!

Did the democrats pull out a solid electoral victory over the CEO of racism inspite all odds? The Africa rolls are not good for us though. East Africa has problems, West Africa rolled high which probably mean Franceafrique is not toppling yet. South Africa rolled a 9... the guerilla war there probably just got messier!

No, unfortunately the Eternal New-Deal Coalition just ended. And it didn't end with someone exciting becoming the President of the United States of America. Well, I am sure they would still produce exciting moments, just not Goldwater levels of exciting.

What is the signification of the "Overall CPSU" ?
They're just general rolls for the state of the Party, as an example, the roll that led to Masherov's assassination was there. Good rolls overall means that interfactional disputes are mostly civil and don't impede the gears of the state too much, the stability of the party is not too shaken up, and our political leadership is responding to the problems of the Union. Low rolls lead to infighting and bad events.
