And What a Dance it Was (NO SV, War is Coming, Prepare)

[X]Gael Targaryen: The Winter Child, said to be the favorite of the old King, despite being a simpleton and a halfwit. It was said she died of summer fever… it was a lie. She had been kidnapped by a traveling singer and raped, however, she did not get pregnant. But your father rescued her when that singer was trying to kill her, and they fell in love. She later gave birth to twins… But one was stillborn. She did not believe both survived, as your father, fearing for his life, left with you before he could be killed. He wept and mourned her when he learned she died.

She was always competent, and compassionate, but she did not raise you. Your father wanted a son that he could care for, to carry on his own legacy. She let you go when you were but a babe, and you have never met her.

The North:D100 => 96

Deep in Winterfell, Rickon Stark, lord of the North, was quietly happy, and making plans.

He knew of this mute boy that would be a key. To what he did not know.

But he knew this.

Lucien the Silent was a boy and not a threat that needed to be hurt. No, he was a boy who needed to grow, before he rose to the occasion.

And everything was not yet ready.

A boy was just a boy, even with a dragon.

What he became, was something that needed time and patience.

Lord Stark, had both.

Reward: The North does not view you as a threat, merely an opportunity.
The Starks continue to be the best dudes ever.

There's a reason they are my favorites alongside the Targaryans.

[X]Saera Targaryen: The Wandering Dragon, a famous Whore now in the City of Volantis. She was… difficult. But she was also a woman who loved your father in the end. She was always competent, and compassionate, but she did not raise you. Your father wanted a son that he could care for, to carry on his own legacy. [X] Plan: Making connections

As much as I like Gael, I prefer a living biological Mom. I LIVE for Character Interactions and Saera is definitely interesting.

Yeah the Targs would never allow the Martells to get Lucien. They'd rather go to war than allow them a dragon rider.

[X] Plan: Making connections
-[x]Spend time with your Father: Your Father has been home for less than a month, and he has all but wished to take you on a little dingy, with a fishing pole and talk. Well, talk as much as you both can, considering you can't.
-[x]The Grey Ghost's Silence: Your new Dragon was an oddity. It seemed to watch you like you were his hatchling, but it did nothing else. All it did was stare. But allow you to come close, to scratch its scales, and climb on his back.
-[x]The Prince of Dragonstone: Prince Baelon has summoned you to court. And he will not be refused.

[X]Rhaenys Targaryen: She looked at you with eyes that were without equal in their caring, save for your mother. "I asked you to care for him because I had no one else to turn to. And now that he knows, he shall know that I am his mother… Too afraid to admit that he is my bastard son. Whom we both thoughts died, yet was stolen away in the night."

Altogether decent reactions, though I do love the fact that the Ironborn are so pissed that a nontargeryan that wasn't from Pyke got a dragon, I guess we know where obvious enemies are,
Well the thing actually is two fold:

One it was a nontarg that wasn't from Pyke, whom was really hoping that one of the lads from the Iron Fleet could go to the Dragonstone, and then try to tame it. Now there is only Sheepstealer and Cannibal. And Cannibal might not be the best for the health of anyone.

Especially since he's expanded his diet to human children... or attempted to.

Two: See the Ironborn are scared because they know the reputation of our father, a badass sea captain. They see it as the Crownlands, and particularly, one crownland captian in particular, trying to play politics to get more power into the Royal Fleet, and out of the Ironborn hands.
Crownlands loving us is to be expected being the imperial core,
The Dragonseed (Or rather VAlyrian minority) are extremely happy that one of their own now has a dragon. Gives them hope, as well as a very big clue that the political situation will change.

And by Change, I mean: Oh boy, more dragons.
the reach is disappointing but not surprising,
It's the Reach. They are disappointing and not surprising.
the Northmen might be friendly is a good thing
The Northmen also have Cregan. And that means they will always do the sane and sensible thing. As long as he actually gets to power from his uncle.
Nymeria coming up to court is interesting and a potential opportunity for… something I'll think of later but this is a good thing (I think).
INB4 we cause an international incident.:V
Now the Lannesters are interested but incomplete in their knowledge and we should act to take advantage of that in whatever form we can, more friends is better.
Well there is always telling them the truth.

That always works for a political faction that is based entirely in wealth:V
All other reaction being muted I'd say this was a very decent set of reactions, the obvious stuff we have to look out for is spies from the Westerlands and dudes that smell like salt and fish, figure growing up near the sea might help with that.
Well we live on Dragonstone, so the salt and fish is also around the natives.
"Huh. Dragonseed with a Dragon in Dragonstone."

"Sounds like cause for a drink"

"Aye. Barkeep, a round for me lads"

Later

"Hmm. You think a Dragon Rider would make a good son-in-law?"

"Don't rightly know. Lotta drinking at weddings tho."

"Aye. They do serve a lot of ale and wine at weddings. Might as well marry my daughter to him."
You know, I was about to make a skit about the Baratheon's more like they were all having a grand old time with fights going on outside the feast halls by the lords who have daughters and want them to meet this silent kid to marry.
The Starks continue to be the best dudes ever.

There's a reason they are my favorites alongside the Targaryans.
Just because they sometimes have their moments, they are always the most pragmatic bastards in the room.

Even when there are other options.

They just want to be left alone.
I can already see the Targaryen reaction.

No no no, to the seven hells no.
Oh they will do more then that. They still remember many of the dornish crimes against the seven kingdoms.

The dornish wars as they are called.
That's my reaction, too.

Screw Dorne.
Unless your Viserys the third, and then you screw all of Dorne.:V
Yeah the Targs would never allow the Martells to get Lucien. They'd rather go to war than allow them a dragon rider.
No, they would start a war of conquest then even allow the Martells to meet with Lucien.

Remember, Aegon's work is not finished yet.

I wonder if the Targs will finally move to put the Cannibal down. I imagine they haven't done so because it was a too much work for little gain but if it starts attacking humans then it might become necessary.
No comment.Mostly because that is an adventure for another time. A little later.

But uh... I rolled for the one option in all plans.

D100 => 69 #Baelon Meeting

The Funny Number has been rolled.:V

how mad will Baelon be with our dad?
He actually won't nearly be as mad as Jaehaerys will be at him.

Baelon loved his sister, but they were not nearly as close as she was with her father and mother.

Remember, with her death, it nearly destroyed old man Jaehaerys and it killed his wife.

But for Baelon: He will have every right to execute our dad, but he knows that will only foster resentment and anger from us, so he will just imprison him for a few weeks.

The thing is, if he does something too drastic, we can always flee. We have a dragon that can do that.
And what are the chances of him catching a fist to the face?
Dad most likely will be imprisoned for a few weeks, and will be at the Old King's Judgement.

If Saera wins, is it possible that she might visit her father before he dies? I think I remember that Jaehaerys ended up missing her when he was on his deathbed.

And I imagine Saera will bring a very deep sigh as well as maybe an unspoken agreement to not mention it to the Old King for his health's sake.
Correct.

Unless of course, in the old kings dementia riddeled mind, thinks we're someone else?

I should be more specific: Screw THIS Dorne, because this is still the time where they will happily massacre a King and his Entourage under a Flag of Truce at a Diplomatic Meeting.
And ruin their diplomatic reputation for nearly a century and then get annexed by the same people they murdered, after politics made it untenable to not join the nation.

Even though the annexation of Dorne led to the Blackfyre rebellions...

So it all evens out.

Well yeah but then again if I'm not wrong Daeron started the invasion in the first place over the objections of viserys and his other councilors.

Honestly the best time to invade was probably before the dance when the number of dragon rider was much higher. There was like over ten during the dance
