That just kinda violates rule 1 of a villain: He/She must be a threat.
Canonmort would not survive 5 minutes against ASWAH!Viserys.

We're working on it.
Also, @DragonParadox, if it wouldn't be too much to ask I'd love to hear how my description of Viserys when seen through a soulgaze lined up with your own vision of the character?
No see, this way we get that option, and the others are still there once the Omake series is done. It's a win-win!I'm disappointed in that most took the short-term not-quest option over the quest options.
"No point to it, unless you want Soft Strider to pretend to be a squirrel," Vee answered gruffly, uncomfortable as ever when Xor talked about hiding himself to strangers. It was bloody unfair and stupid and he was being too nice letting every fool decide what shape he was gonna wear.
It lines up pretty neatly actually, though perhaps Harry should have perceived Dark Sister's sentience given her deep link to Viserys.
That then becomes "powerful OC is running roughshod all over canon". Something that is already hard enough to avoid with Viserys. Then don't make it about killing Voldemort. Make it about the rest of the Magical World having to deal with Viserys being Viserys about things.
Probably still not as bad as the canon one power and character wise.

Given your apparent disgust at HPMOR, I'm surprised that you suggest such a path.
The fact that their reason for hiding is 'we don't want to be bothered by people looking for magical solutions to their problems ' is pretty monstrous if you consider what some of those problems would have been.
Point. That would tick him off something fierce. One could think of it less as "running roughshod all over canon" and more as dealing with the insidious and pervasive villain beyond Tom Riddle by any other name: the selfishness bigotry and self-righteous arrogance baked into wizarding culture.

If I recall correctly didn't they go into hiding because of the Salem Witch Trials? And even further back when the non-magical people would persecute them during the Medieval times.

The International Statue of Secrecy was enacted in 1692, so one year before.
The issue with that is the entire world is not now composed entirely of early modern Western Europe/Colonial America.
Good night guys see you tomorrow with the wildfire hunt.
I'm not sure that anyone in the entire Wizarding World is prepared for the results of Viserys choosing to play politics.
Then again... that way lay Wizengamot sessions...
Or Viserys making his own faction. The Order of You Are All Morons, Here Is How It's Done.
How about depicting Dark Sister as a sort of mirror? Is it a reflection of Viserys, in a way. Perhaps blade reflecting his face, or a mirror that cuts like a blade?I considered that, but...Dark Sister doesn't exactly have eyes, and I felt I was throwing enough at Dresden without adding in a sentient weapon. More the latter than the former, to be honest. Thanks though, means a lot to get something like this (mostly) right.

Also, I detest the flat, raving lunatic archetype of villain.
