Viserys: "Now now. Coconut drinks, scantily-clad women, local god with sixteen teets."

Tyrion pokes his head in: "Did somebody say FERTILITY GODDESS?!"

It's like people don't even read the update.
Not sure what you are saying here, or maybe I am misreading it, but that passage reads like the Dryad is unwilling to accept a mortal captain, but will take our orders on what she should do in general. Are you suggesting Viserys captain her? Because besides Lya's potential jealousy :p there are a host of issues with that idea.

I'm also not sure why you are quoting that bit, do you think Goldfish's excellent Captain Arcanum idea is a good one, or?

Can we agree on these research topics next?
1. Fungal Bio-Reactors and -Incubators.
2. Valyrian Steel creation
3. Anti-Grav engine

I would put Vee and Mercy on the first, the Qohor smith on the second, and Lya and Naria on the third.

Edit: Potential helpers:
1. Xor
2. Waymar, Tyene
3. Aradia?

I want to build our Plant Creature Darkenbeast airforce that can teleport through a forest and blind an army and have been trying to get that rolling for a couple turns now.

Just waiting on @DragonParadox to define the requirements.

You will get the results of that next month. Anyway things look pretty solid on the dryad, vote closed.

That's it? All of this for a fucking bog standard dryad that could take years and years to grow and will likely remain wholy irrelevant forever?

Well, congratu-fucking-lations, that's a superlative choice.

At this point I can only hope the dryad gets corrupted and burns the CoF's glade or something.

You know what TNE just got here and he was very involved in arguing for this. Vote reopened. I'll do a Jorel interlude to show him getting back his body.

Well. Isn't someone Special.

I know I've only been posting on this quest a few months, but in future when new people come into the quest it might be less confusing if the voting apparatus was upgraded to something that more closely approached the way things actually work. It is obvious that some people's votes are more important than others, so we might as well formalize that by having a two chamber legislature instead of a unicameral one. The Senate would decide most issues, and only when they had one they could not agree on among themselves would we need to even worry about it. Helps to keep us from getting our hopes up.

I'm probably out of here, at least as far as posting goes. I'll probably follow the actual updates for a while, but it has become obvious that my input in other ways is both unwelcome and fruitless. There is at any rate an upcoming issue I feel even stronger about than I did this one, and when failing Scholarium students are encouraged to turn into robots for short term gain, I'll most likely drop reading the quest as well.

Have a wonderful time, and You can all now do you.

You are deliberately misconstruing what actually happened, Antaeus. I won't try to explain again, as I've already done so twice today.

Despite what you seem to believe, your input will be missed.

...Do I have to get out of my little salty box of suffering for this?
ugh.

I'm right there with you when it comes to being dissatisfied with how it went.
But you are, alongside Fehu, being a bit of an asshole to DP, as he has shown that he takes people "not having fun with quest" very personally.
You guys are insuniating that there is some kind of minority that chooses stuff for everyone.

But there was no personal favorites being picked here by DP.
He would have opened back any vote had anyone ever asked.
Well, and it was just so unfortunate that this is the first time that happened (at least in thoe 6000+ pages I've actually read).

I am, for one, very dissatisfied with people who raise a stink after vote is closed, as I myself don't do this stuff, but that's me projecting.
i am heavily dissatisfied with wasted potential.

But everyone who is active poster here here has a pet project they will rip and tear for. TNE's happened to be Magical Girl Fey-Rhaella...

Everyone's input matters here, everyone is listened to.

Active posters just seem more important here because they (us?) spend far more time actively planning and plotting stuff.
And then it is always just bandwagon once sufficiently awesome plan is proposed. Which it is, because again, always planning and plotting.

TLDR: You are kind of wrong (a little), plz don't leave, seeing people leave the quest is bad for players and QM.

To be honest, even if i can see the ship fey being valuable for us with a little work(and thus are nowhere near as salty as i could be), i too am disatisfied with the way the vote was handled.
Not only it was reopened with a clear lead, but closed the moment a small gap was made in the vote, a gap that was less then 5% of the vote count, and that would have closed in minutes.
I do not think such events are good for the voters in general.
Specially when i think a few more hours, or an overnight vote would have led to a clear victor, or some Sort of compromise.

TL; dr: the vote was opened and closed st the convinience of one person, and that is not cool or fair.

There are almost 3000 threadmark in this quest. Don't leave because one had shenanigans. Which I do think it had, DP should just have gone for an interlude instead of closing it and reopening, same result, sodium content minimal (I would hope lol)

Sides, the ship is going to have as much screen time as Alinor, so there won't be much to be angry about :V

This is a solid point, TNE (not to keep picking on him, because this really is more about a general trend for me) certainly puts more time and effort into contributing to this quest than I do for instance. There is certainly an argument to be made that all the time he spends on the Munchkin Council of level ups alone means that DP should be taking his opinion more seriously than mine, because he's clearly very invested and participating much more than me. I wouldn't be inherently against such a decision, if it was clearly outlined.
I don't in fact think DP meant that call as a slight on anyone, he just saw his friend had the sads and wanted to fix it. DP is mostly a peach.

And I disagree with your opinion, though I respect your right to have that opinion. I hope you reciprocate in that regard.

This entire situation should have only ever been a minor concern, but it somehow got blown completely out of reasonable proportions.

Can we please all just agree to disagree and move on? Not everything is always going to go to everyone's liking. I'm certain the tides will shift soon enough and something I would rather not happen will be successfully voted on. That's just how life works.

The evidence is there, there is no need to have an opinion on facts.
Dp himself said the open was opened for tne, tne called dp to close the vote, more votes for the land court landed short after It was closed.
I get It not malicious, but need to be adressed.

I agree with this sentiment generally, but "you can't always get your way, suck it up and stop whining" is not really a good look coming from the winning side.

And I'm officially done with this topic. Congratulations, you get the last word.

Its not an argument, i do not want to win a debate,.but can you honestly say that it would not look that way for some people? Would you not be concerned if you wanted a different outcome?
If some people are leaving because of what happened, then It needs to be discussed, this is not something you bury and let go.

What i would like to see out of this:
Clear rules for when a vote is closed or why It could be reopened.
What constitutes a clear lead, and when and How we call dp to tell him a vote is closed.

The note says:

"I'm really of the opinion that you guys are blowing this out of proportion.
DP is one of the friendliest guys around.
He saw someone dissatisfied. He tried to fix that.
No malicious intent here, in any way imaginable.
Honestly, if there was a mistake - it was closing a vote too soon, and DP already admitted to that.
I really don't think there is any need for thinking up any new mechanics here for a one-off occasion, one that is horrendously blown out of proportion.

FFS, people.
I can't even properly salt here, what with you writing stuff that will make DP think all of this is his fault and feel bad.
If anyone is to blame - TNE is.... (Bad phrasing. Eh, it's too late, can't find better phrasing...)
Not a lot, but he complained and everything started after that.
And even then, even being on a "lost" side of an argument, I don't see "the problem" being as severe as you describe.

Can we just go back to arguing with each other and voting as we want instead of dragging meta-reasoning into everything?
Meta reasons are important if there is an underlyng problem.
At this point i no longer care that much about the actual outcome of the vote, but the underlying problem is still there and Will cause problems un the future.
In particular i would like to propuse the following:

- A voter does not get to call DP with a "clear lead message" unless the lead is at least 3 votes and has been that way for at least 20 min.
- A contested vote with 30+ votes is always left overnight, if a compromise does not arise the vote is closed the moment dp arrives.

What bothers me the most is that dp was called the instant the vote swung one way, with a Minimum lead that disappeared on minutes, that cannot be allowed to happen.

Seriously, its not the first time this has happened, and It should be frowned upon.
Do not call dp to close a vote the very instant It goes your way.

Its not dp's fault, and i would never want him to feel bad.
But if he does not realize there is a problem then he cant do anything about It, and there is a problem.
