We can get friendly fey whenever we want if we bother to do it.

We pretty much will have to subjugate, or at least ally ourselves with, many courts.

This seed is special. This is why it should be used for something truly unique.
This is not just a friendly fey, its the last scion of a court, given to us to look after.
Not using it to its full potential its a waste.

@Goldfish, thoughts on getting a Midnight Mithral Chain Shirt (+1) for Teana?

Holy hell I love this enchantment. So wonderfully cheap and within easy reach.
Not really something I see her using. She's a 10th level Sorceress with Mage Armor as a known spell. She can also use her template to gain DR 10/Magic at will.

The armor would barely be an improvement for her, but would require training to use properly. It would be better for someone with a lower caster level, without as many spell slots, and who doesn't know the Mage Armor spell. What about Rhaella?

Again, consider that this is not a vote for "awaken ship or not", it is for whether or not we use our unique resource on it.
WE can awaken the ship later when we research how, this seed and its court will be gone if we do this now.

Might work. I remember something about bards being even better with avoiding ASF.

What about for Mia? Sure, she might know Mage Armor, but as a wizard she could also have something else prepared instead. Maybe Shield.

...Like The Fey Court, located on our Capital City's island, and eventually having most powerful fey around simply due to narrative of our Empire seeping through?

I see putting it with CotF as creating a very unique thing that will grow into something no awakened ship can compare to.

I'm strongly against counting the awakened ship as one "person" for the purpose of spell effects. The Dryad isn't the same as ger "tree" and making a creature with 40+ "natural attacks" is wrecking the D&D system harder then a Ur-Priest - Mystic Theurge combo.

However, Magic Army is explicitly an army-sized spell. Just as Submerge Ship is a ship-sized spell.

That's quite different then Magic Vestment or Fly cheese.

Using it to its full potential means transforming it into a unique breed of fey with absurd amounts of power available to it.

Not a bog-standard tree hugger.

The narrative of the ship fey court is unique, thus immensely more powerful than the conventional one.

There is no argument there other than you think it wounds cool.
Courts are about heritage and power.
The ship would have neither, nothing to call upon, no more power than we give care to pour into it, and likely wont get a chance to do so for months.
The court would belong to our island, part of the old gods and our growing empire.

I'm going to have to agree. Irrespective attacks, spell effects on a 'person' like that break the system hard.

Anyway vote closed.

While I dislike salt (of which there wasn't must this time) I like debate and close votes since it shows people are engaged... so I'm going to try to reflect that in the next update

Oh god, if we can get more seeds from the tree, we could then use it to awaken the Queen... and then other ships, with the Queen Rhaella Fey princess having her own court of Fey imbued ships..
Now that is something i would love to see.
@TotallyNotEvil could we go for this?

Honestly that idea sounds pretty awesome. I'd go for that.

Basically, what i want to know is:
Can the seed propagate? Can we use cuttings to "infect" other ships and awaken them? perhaps even infecting ports and making them part of her court? Now that is a proper use for the seed.

A single ship is a mockery, a troupe instead of a court.
A fleet... now that is proper kingdom.

45 votes is the most I've seen for a single action in a long time, especially for a decision that wasn't left up over night. Like DP said, it shows how engaged we are and how many people care about the outcome of planting the seed.

Thanks for weighing in, @Everyone.

That's certainly, something I'd love to do.

But we'd probably, ironically, need the "Queen seed" to be Rhaella.
I would be ok with that, the idea of a fey fleet never ocurred to me.
A Fey ship sounds useless to me, a Fey fleet would be something to behold.
Maybe cuttings from the original ship, and then propagate it to our ports to expand their influence.
