I've often heard that's the one true enemy of all spanish speakers.

Of course, I just gaze languidly from my throne of lyrical eloquence.
But is there really a difference between portuguese and spain's spanish? as far as i am concerned, portuguese is a just a dialect that failed to be assimilated when the peninsula merged into spain, and should be treated with the same respect as lets say, Galician.

@das_slash, if you think Spanish from Spain is silly, behold the monstrosity that is Chavacano! It's a creole that counts as a dialect here. Do you even get half of what they're saying?

Speaking of dialects, do Western Countries have ones that makes one totally incomprehensible from people who don't know it? Like, ever experienced stepping into the next village just a kilometer away and everyone speaks gobbledygook?

Belatedly, I realized what DP was implying by "play the long game" in terms of handing out spell-boons to people for a magical tithe, even though blood is more energy efficient and would at least pay the cost of the spell if not top up their battery.

The OG are handing out boons like that because the exchange encourages them sacrificing HD or CL later on in hopes of getting more, and we've discovered that at the very least, the equivalent of a Tier 3 of sacrifice 'oomph' gives them a lot of mojo to play around with.

So scattered and occasional sacrifices would in the end heavily outweigh the energy spent granting regular (weekly or otherwise) imbued spells.

This is presupposing that those benefiting aren't taking it for granted, with no intention of paying it forward later on, but the fact that there are numerous scenarios where you need a ready-made solution and don't have the time or inclination to pursue it on your own, does seem to imply that sacrifice for an artifact or upgrade or new spell knowledge will be something the Silver Eye will do.

Isn't Spanish just English with O's on the end of all the words?

Rednecks have steered you wrong, my friend.

Amply. Germany alone has three widely spoken dialects that are nigh incomprehensible to most, Platt, Schwäbisch and Bayrisch.

@DragonParadox hasn't answered @Goldfish's question regarding our burgeoning cable television broadcast ambitions, specifically whether or not using Auditory Hallucination in an enchantment would be necessary to provide a surround sound system, or if Ghost Sound would be adequate.

Considering I had ideas to set up regular "Monarch Talk" sections where Viserys takes a moment to 'get real' with his subjects. Maybe call it "Candid Crowns" or something... it's a work in progress.

Mostly I wanted to use it to talk about all the cool shit Viserys has planned and to educate the masses a little on matters arcane. We could do weekly one hour segments, and then of course there could be smaller networks of projected image casting standing stones playing propaganda state news on repeat scattered throughout public areas, to supplement our broadsheet idea.

What we need to do is find a way to produce cheap paper. I think we might be able to find a lead in either Qarth, or failing that, Yi Ti, of which we could probably Greater Teleport over after getting Menel to describe it to us accurately. Or Qarth for that matter.

It's a less effective endeavor in terms of spreading the real facts to counter our detractors, but having an indoctrinated informed populace has its benefits...

Living by the Niedersachsen/Nordrhein-Westfahlen border, we call most old dialects here Plattdeutsch.
On our school-sponsored tour through Munich (we paid, the school/teachers organized), the tour guide on board the bus politely asked us to repeat what we were saying because she didn't understand a word - and we were just using our bastardized Pälzisch ...

In Sweden we often joke about either side of the Öresundsbridge speakinh gobblygook. But to be fair to the danish, I am pretty sure they cant understand Skånska (Scanish) either.

Otherwise there were alot of dialects who used the old norse runic alphabet until the 1800s. Of which there is one left in Dalarna.

@Crake youre giving me draenei vibes with your hologram teathers! :p
@PaperIdea why not fabricate wood into pulp / or thinn slices. Cheap wooden books.

Yeah your Swedish language is just weird, it sounds like I should understand it but I just don't.

@DragonParadox Wait, you're in London? If you're somewhere central around Soho/Oxford Street/Tottenham Court Road area on Friday night, i'll totally buy you a beer or two. This quest is one of the pinnacles of SV.

Thanks but I sadly already have ridiculously full schedule, as is fitting for someone who last saw London 10 years ago and spent all that time running around musiums.

Now lets see if this antiuqted piece of scrap I fondly call a laptop is up to writting a update.
