A chained up lead chest marked 'things that are too cursed to use, not bad enough for fey disposal'.
:o:o:o

@Azel, one of the things we should bargain for is that we are the default disposal from now on. No more of this fey crap, that's perfectly good sacrifice fodder.
  • She can
  • Sure, you know her well enough
Excellent. @DragonParadox, one of the things I was going to offer was next turn we craft her a Quill of Scribing so she can stockpile on her own scrolls for emergencies while not wasting any time (and also so we can commission some of her spells like Black Tentacles and the like).

Seriously, quills of scribing are just all kinds of awesome.

@Duesal, writing an update right now, so please take care of this. I've politicized at Brook-Dude, now you magpie at the Shiny-Noses.

-[] Henceforth, we will get all items that the Silver Eye wants to dispose of to sacrifice them or that are too cursed for them to use. In return, they get everything back that we manage to de-curse, but only after we thoroughly studied said items. Haggling about buying the things from them afterwards will likely occur.

Should Disable Device be a 3 instead of 4 then? It's cross-class for wizards and thus they cannot have 4 ranks at level 3 (unless you use some homerule).

Probably. I had just given her full ranks in it before on the reasoning that she would have been taught to search for traps as a priority no matter the standard wizard package, but that's just one more detail to keep track of for little real story gain so best just make it cross class.

Being on vacation is awesome. I just took a 2.5 hour nap on a Tuesday afternoon. Life is good.

In D&D there isn't, but you can always argue that it could work in HP. Entropy affects everything to some degree, after all.
Not force. That's the point of Force effects.

You could argue one could unravel what's holding it together. But the Orb works precisely because there's nothing to unravel.
We need a custom Inquisition PrC.
They just handed us one.

We should remember the craft the silver eyes for our guys, we invented them afte all.
I'm pretty sure we single-handedly jumpstarted a market for lead in Braavos.

@DragonParadox don't we still technically own the Windhouse? IIRC, we rented it for maintenance costs, and that was it.

Our field agents need to be beefier than a Wizard. Minimum of d6 Hit Dice.

What I'm interested in is the ritual that grants Spell Resistance. @DragonParadox Is that locked to Alysande's new PrC, or is it something we can use?

I feel ya.

Been home for nearly a week now, just have to go back tomorrow for a final on mechanics, currently half-heartedly reading some very dry slides on Rotation, Revolution and Torque. Then it's back home on thursday until August.

For some reason, I killed it without even really trying on a subject people fail left and right, even on the seriously dreaded department-wide, all-literal, fully discursive midterm I got like, 27/33.

Very happy that, barring disaster tomorrow of me not managing 7/34, I will have passed straight through on everything this semester.

Of course, that means next one I got the sadistic combo of Calculus III (Multivariable, everything not series or partial derivatives), Eletromagnetism, Waves and Oscilations and Diferential Equations I, with Experimental Physics, a fully practical course with a fabled workload, to top it off.

And that's after I've chipped at the subjects of that particular semester.

Still, happy with everything (hopefully) going through with no mad scramble for the special exam.

I wonder, is it just me here that's on college?

You would have to do a research action to adapt it to anything else.

Anyway 'night guys see you in the morning with the rest of the Braavos buisness.

@Duesal Add this to the list for Naria next turn? I would put this as the highest priority. If we can give people permanent Spell Resistance against multiple schools of magic, that's a game changer.

Finally off from work. As for the latest updates, so we are integrating Braavos after all.

Next on the agenda is the Iron Bank's commission. We can drop by them, not to negotiate what we have agreed with the Sealord, but to modify their defenses. Lya's the one assigned for this so can we go visit the Isle of Gods to buy some land for Yss' temple/Silver Serpent Branch? Or perhaps visit the Holy Refuge to look for other Yss artifacts?

Or how about getting Lya to visit her old home? We saw the power of the Moonsinger Goddess with her Mirror Mephit, how about negotiating for a temple for her in our domain?

-[X] Henceforth, we will get all items that the Silver Eye deems too cursed to use (including the ones that are so cursed they warrant fey disposal, refer to the successful disposal of the Mantis Head Divine Artifact as a point in your favor), and in return whichever items that we don't sacrifice and manage to decurse will be returned to the Silver Eye after they've been thoroughly studied by us. Haggling about buying the things from them afterwards will likely occur.
--[X] As a start you would like to see which items they have in stock.
-[X] Continuing on the same vein of the subject of the Silver Eye and Inquisition working closely together in the future, propose that from time to time some of your fledgeling mages from the Scholarum could station with the Silver Eye for a bit to gain experience. They would be working under a competent superior whom you trust, and Alysande would get access to various mages however temporary those arrangements might be.
-[X] Next month we can set aside some of our crafters' time to craft her a Quill of Scribing (with the understanding that the Sealord pays for it), which will greatly increase her versatility in combat given the Sealord's backing makes the costs of scribing scrolls every day obsolete. In exchange we will reserve the right to commission scrolls from her to distribute among our mages.
--[X] Starting with Dimension Door, we can have Lya scribe a few scrolls of very useful spells for Alysande to quickly learn (again, with the Sealord paying for it). This has an upper limit of three spells for the next month, and we're going to need to know which spells she chooses.
---[X] In future months she can commission more spells depending on our circumstances and how free we are with scribing time.
-[X] We will sell the Arcane Resonance Ritual to them in exchange for the fey rituals they have acquired, on the understanding that they not spread the ritual to anyone else. This will allow them to quickly and efficiently identify magic items on their own without having to rely on the fey's whimsy.
-[X] Broach the possibilities of her occasionally coming to speak as a guest lecturer in the Scholarum, much in the same vein as your offer to Wyla Drekelis. See what she might require for such an arrangement to be possible.
-[X] Ask if there is any lore the Silver Eye possesses that is not in the Sealord's Archives, and if so arrange an equal trade of knowledge.
--[X] See if there's any forbidden lore that the Silver Eye has confiscated and see if you can get that, for a fair price of course.
-[X] Ask for details of the Silver Eye
--[X] Ask how many members there are, what classes/levels they have, what groups they're organized into within the Silver Eye (basically the same as the list of mages we were given for Dorne).
---[X] Ask if there are any members of particular note (like promising apprentices or grizzled veterans who have decided to join).
--[X] Ask what improvements have been made to the Wind House in your absence (mundane and magical).
--[X] Ask about Alysande herself, what magic items she's collected, supernatural allies, which companions she prefers in battle, etc. This is out of curiosity as well as a desire to see where you could help.
-[X] Ask about the supernaturals now within and around Braavos and anything you'd be interested in knowing.
--[X] Ask about which priests they have been getting healing from and what other miracle workers or mages have popped up recently. Also ask about the various attacks Braavos has suffered since our absence.
-[X] Ask about any rumors that Alysande has heard of happenings in Westeros or Essos, or even the Summer Seas and Sothoryos.
-[X] Ask about how Alysande's grandmother and Uthero have been doing.

@Goldfish, checking with you now, anything in there that you don't like?

All of that looks good to me. Just remember to make a list of all that stuff for next turn, because I guarantee you that I won't remember.
