There are likely thousands of people in this city in a similar situation, we cannot waste time here to calm them down.

They're the reigning blood, and having them in our pocket will, in fact, be useful. So yes, they actually do matter more than the thousands of others in the city in a similar situation. Because their parentage gives them power that we can use.

Artemis' proposal was not without merit, we definitely don't have the time to burn. The children can be comforted later by people who aren't us. Right now our men are dying.

We committed time to save them, that means we have to commit time to get them back to safety. Resilient Sphere is just going to exacerbate the trauma they've gone through, and we should probably make sure our men know that we've secured the area we ran up to before we waltz off somewhere else. That's just effective leadership. That I can combine that with getting the remnants of the Archon's family to safety? Happy accident :p

@everyone ask for a report and then teleport out to help Moonsong assuming nothing comes up?
I would prefer to have Azel's input there, but I'm reasonably sure we have weaker spots than Moonsong

---[X] Group 5, with 800 Sellsword Spearmen, 300 Sellsword Crossbowmen, 5 Heavy-Infantry Legion Battalions and 10 Minotaurs lands in the southern half of the harbor and goes on to secure the central plaza.
---[X] A force of 800 Sellsword Spearmen, 400 Sellsword Skirmishers and 3 Heavy-Infantry Legion Battalions, supported by the Iron Golem, lands outside of the northern city wall and proceeds to secure the northern slums.
---[X] A force of 450 Sellsword Axemen, 3 Heavy-Infantry Legion Battalions and 1 Crossbow Legion Battalion will land outside of the southern slums and proceed to secure them.
Both the northern and the southern slums have significantly less firepower and the group 5 is by far the weakest PC-group.
Either of them are more important than the people with this group:
--[] Group 4: Moonsong, Theon, Asha, Teana, Legion Archon, Shield Archon
and Rina, Lya and Dany.

Edit: And we know from divination that the northern parts will be among the worst daemon-pits.

das_slash is right on the memory moss option.

So the northern group, given its relative weakness and likelihood to be facing demon attacks, then?

das_slash is right on the memory moss option.

If we had it on us at present, yes. I'm not sure it works on anything else, and having to explain the sudden gap in their memories as well as everything else that happened in it would be...a study in complications, to put it lightly.

X] Order a detachment to keep them under guard and separate from the other civilians and surrendered soldiers

@Snowfire - maybe don't divide the troops too much - we can give orders to have them nearby

Why not resilent sphere them and have Varys watch over them until the troops arrive, or have Varys guide them to our troops or secured area where we can have one or two people guard them.

A detachment in this case is...um, what's the term, a squad? Very small number of people.

And I'd rather not leave them trapped inside a magical forcefield that no one will be able to drop in the rooms where their mother was just murdered.

They're alive, and they're going to stay alive. That's enough. We can do this quickly, give our orders quickly, then move on. We don't have the time to go gentle and slow with them, trauma or no.

I'm...not intending on going gentle and slow. But DP has stated that if we want to leave them in the care of the Legion, we have to get them back to the Legion first. Our soldiers aren't here yet. So we go back, make it quickly clear that we're going to see them kept safe whilst we walk, make sure they will be kept safe from things like attempted mob justice, and then pop off elsewhere.

    [X] Plan Orphan Security
-[X] Promise what's left of the Archon's family fair treatment as befits their station.
-[X] Escort them back to the legion.
-[X] Make it clear on the way that you hold no ill will against them, and that they will be safe.
-[X] Order a detachment to keep them under guard and separate from the other civilians and surrendered soldiers.
-[X] Ensure that the soldiers guarding them know that they are not to be mistreated, and to be granted any reasonable requests given what they've just been through.

Teleport them in the courtyard?
That way we can directly instruct the legionaires holding the gates to keep them save, while those inside keep restoring order.

I was working under the impression we wanted to hold onto our spell slots, but if people are fine burning a Teleport on this, sure. I'd just like a general (quick) reassurance that we accept their surrender with all that implies and making sure that they're held separately to stop common folk or surrendered soldiers trying to kill them.

What a terrible time to be out of town. Can't believe I missed the last vote. :(

[X] Plan Getting Shit Done.
-[X] Quickly escort the children back to the legion.
-[X] Order a detachment to keep them under guard and separate from the other civilians and surrendered soldiers. Ensure that the soldiers guarding them know that they are not to be mistreated. Otherwise, their priorities are to secure the archives and treasury.
-[X] Teleport with Richard and Varys to reinforce the forces in the northern slums, where Daemon activity is expected to be heavy.

I think a Teleport should be no problem, we have 8 level 5 slots and spend at most 1 on a Firebrand when saving the servants.
Meanwhile the men in the palace are described as being "a few minutes" away, wich is basically an eternity in combat-rounds.
