True but then again the corruption of say KL is much, much worse.
If we go with canon number for the Gold Cloaks (6,000) and match that with the approximate population of the city (500,000), they would actually end up at a extremely nice coverage of 180%, if operating at peak efficiency.

Though accounting for the fact that part of them are permanently guarding the Red Keep as a garrison and that Tyrion noted once that 3/4 of them are thugs ins armor...
Now add shitty pay to stir the pot a bit...

@Diomedon @Duesal @TotallyNotEvil @Everyone Next month, I want us to begin doing some gear upgrades for the Companions. Obviously we won't be able to squeeze them all in, but it's time to get started on it, IMO.

Dany: Wisdom (2100 IM) item upgraded to +5 and Constitution (1200 IM) item upgraded to +4.
Richard: Strength (1200 IM) and Constitution (1200 IM) items updated to +4.
Lya: Constitution (1200 IM) item to +4 and Intelligence (900 IM) item upgraded to +5.
Waymar: Dexterity (400 IM) item upgraded to +3 and Constitution (1200 IM) item upgraded to +4.
Garin: Needs a +2 Constitution (400 IM) and +2 Wisdom (400 IM) item.
Vee: Needs a +3 Wisdom item (1200 IM) since the belt just isn't cutting it any longer and her Constitution (1200 IM) item upgraded to +4.
Tyene: Needs a +1 Dexterity item (100 IM), Wisdom (400 IM) item upgraded to +3, and Constitution (1200 IM) upgraded to +4.
Maelor: Needs a +4 Constitution (1600 IM) item, a +1 Wisdom (100 IM) item, and Charisma (400 IM) item upgraded to +3.
Malarys: Constitution (1100 IM) and Wisdom (1100 IM) items upgraded to +3.
Glyra: Needs a +1 Charisma (100 IM) and +2 Constitution (400 IM) item.

Cost really isn't a huge factor any longer, but time certainly is. The above rates are base costs, without Lya's Extraordinary Artisan discount.

What I've color coded green are new items we shouldn't even bother with creating, but can instead purchase from the Opaline Vault. That's 4,300 IM worth of items, which would save us 22 crafting days.

Red items are priority for crafting, IMO, and should be done by Lya or her Wrights, due to caster level and the EA discount's reduction on both expense and crafting time. That's 7,800 IM, or 5,850 IM after the EA discount. That breaks down to 30 crafting days.

Blue items are less expensive and should need a lower caster level, which make them more in line with Leila's capabilities. That's 3,400 IM, which breaks down to 17 crafting days.

Yellow items could be crafted by Rina. We could offload more on to her, but I know some people would make a fuss if he relegate her to craftbot status. That's 3,600 IM, which breaks down to 18 crafting days.

So it's official?

  • [X] Approve the creation of a Greycloack academy (Initial cost 2000 Gold; Lawmen costs increase by 20%; may be offset in part or in full by a decrease in corruption)
-[X] Do not buy slaves. Instead source and hire scribes from Braavos who might be willing to immigrate through your connections with various contacts. If these are not sufficient or Viserys deems it would be impropriety in some cases than others, try hiring some from Mantarys or Tolos. Relath can't really object given the terms we've laid out, and the Archons wouldn't have reason to complain about gainful employment for some of their citizens, if in far off shores.

@Goldfish, we actually wanted to do a strategic crafting turn next month. We need an additional Brazier for Tyrosh and at least 2 Arcanums. Preferably also some constructs.

Definitely need another Lyre.

Obviously some items take precedence. I don't mean the entire month should be devoted to stat boosters, but we'll never get it done if we don't get started on it. Constitution items especially need to be upgraded.

@Goldfish weren't we looking to buff Ser Gerold somehow?

We can purchase minor stat boosters for him in the Opaline Vault, like the other stuff I highlighted in green.

You found it funny, so I'm going to assume should an over-deity exist, he finds it funny too.

:V

... was there word of god on upgrading the belt? I'm not sure I remember correctly.

Did we get rid of the "4 CL per +1 of attribute enhancements" requirement?

Was never a thing, or it wasn't a thing for a long time. How else could Viserys have a +5 Charisma ring?

Objection withdrawn.

The most important things I see for next turn:
- Brazier to have a clean communication line back to SD
- Crafter / Researcher / Teacher Arcanum
- Bard Arcanum
- Violin of Building for said Bard Arcanum, so that we can remodel faster and can occasionally pull Xor from construction duty

Our poor, spherical friend had far too little screentime recently, due to our building spree.

Another thing we do that makes zero sense for a polity our size being capable off.

The rest is stat-boosters.

Enough that making sure their natures would make them more inclined towards the work we set them toward is something to merit careful consideration, @MTB.

@Azel
How much are sheep?

Edit: ~100.
Is this a serious question or the setup for something silly? Would take me a bit of research to work that out cleanly.

Something between 200 and 1000 IM probably.

Well, they have inbuilt loyalty, though if we ever decided to make a Negative Energy + Evil Arcanum and use it as a school teacher, we deserve everything that happens.

@Azel I want a Lawful Evil Fire Positive Arcanum as a drill instructor. :D

She'll berate and punish... and then reward and praise! And when battle is set, set the foes of her men on fire for them!

Well as DP has kindly informed.

@DragonParadox

Does the PoMS have sunlight?
No, but it does have eternal fiery day from the burning heavens, hence the name.

Each month when the portal to PoMS opens we can shuffle through Darkenbeast.

Over time we will build up a sizable force of completely disposable flight capable assets for 200-1000IM per batch of 100.

The spell itself has a 200 gp (40 Gold) materiel cost.

Hmm, worst case scenario 5000IM for 100.

Darkenbeasts automatically obey the telepathic commands of their creator, thus they do not need to be trained or controlled by means such as leashes, verbal commands, or gestures. The mage can give the darkenbeasts limited orders based on mental images. The darkenbeasts then hunt down or pursue the quarry portrayed in those images. The darkenbeasts carry out this task until the task is accomplished, the darkenbeasts are slain, or daylight breaks the spell.

We've already met a few people we'd happily picture.

I kinda want them for the Inquisition now. Protective Penumbra solves the daylight issue too.

This is the foundation of the Inquisition, right? Is there a reason we're not making dragonpens here? Didn't we specifically agree that they needed their own? Malarys probably would have asked for that instead of freed slaves if he realized it was an option. Dragonpens are far superior as assistants.
