Well, that's the same logic I used when arguing against the tree, so I can't exactly argue against it.

Is there a reason we can't craft more wyrmlings?
We got mundane troops wrapped up rather neatly and they are less useful against Daemons, who have blanket resistances.

I would rather make something dedicated to Daemon killing.

Guys, we kinda should settle what to do with the 1000 IM left over in Lyas budget.

I'm tempted to cut Danys lecture in the Scholarium by one day, cut Lyas crafting by one day and then craft scrolls of Mass Align Weapon: Good for the Daemon task-force to negate DR.

Construct security for the Shadow Tower.

  1. Maybe, depending on how long they train. 'From childhood' would be preferable from this perspective.
  2. Just about, though of course actual Dothraki hoses or those of other steppe cultures like the Jogos Nhai would be better.

Wouldn't Dornish horses actually be just as good if the predication is based on stamina or acclimation to harsh environments? They're described in the books as being able to travel long distances no problem and Dorne is about as harsh as you can get outside the North.

I would love a Vee study action on gathering and breeding a new superhorse breed from all the best breeds that currently exist, magical or otherwise.

I just realised that with a single casting of Improved Portal Alarm it will have a duration of 4 days and 16 hours.

@DragonParadox can it please be considered automatic that Viserys cast this on the Entrance to the Shadow Tower, there's no reason he wouldn't do so.
Similar to odd and even days of the buff cycle.

From now on? Sure. Not retroactively though.

The Wyrmlings have the right skills, the right mindset and Darkvision.

If we can put permanent See Invisibility on one or two we have our guardians.
And maybe an Alarm on them so Viserys gets a message if they are damaged.

@Azel How expensive would that be?

Would a non-golem construct not be cheaper and have it have see invisibility, darkvision, maybe blindvision, a good hide skill and a loud voice?
And the ability to shoot out sparks or some sort of magical effect that has a longer range than a darkness spell

What do you mean by non-golem contruct?

Our Elemental Wyrmlings have good Spot and Listen, have Darkvision, have the draconic mindset for guarding treasures and have a ranged attack.
They just need See Invis to be exellent guardians.

As I understand it, golems have DR and a few other things, but also a hefty price tag - why not design something more specialised to watch over the area than just a Wyrmling?

Wyrmlings may be good, but for this function, a dedicated design might be better.

On the one hand relying solely on constructs for security is probably a bad idea, but taking into account that they would likely be able to delay most opponents who couldn't just glare them out of existence in the first place, alarms being effected and acted upon in enough time to stop them being the point, and the fact that the Wyrmlings are dangerous enough to be more than a nuisance but not dangerous enough to wreak much havoc if taken over by enemy mages.

Striking the right balance here using constructs, long-duration or continuous spells, and fast response times is probably the most cost efficient method to securing it in the short term. More costly would be creating Arcanums.

I would really like to make some Rune Guardians, but they are stupid expensive for what they do. We could get a Wyrmling for that money.

490 IM for a single Rune Guardian. 350 for a Wyrmling. That is taking into account our 30% discount.

@DragonParadox, would you greenlight an item of Align Weapon: Good?
Spell Level 2 * CL 3 * Command Word 180 IM = 1080 IM

The Daemon task-force could pass it around to align their weapons, thus letting them pierce the Daemons DR.
With only 3 minutes, it's not that much time they get out of it, but it would help tremendously.

On that note, I now have a definitive (or as close as you can get) population count as of the most recent census. 19,513.

We are nearly half way to being as large as White Harbor! Woo milestones!

Of those only not quite 14,000 in SD itself though.

However, the city is bound to get a huge influx of immigrants when Tyrosh shrinks itself healthy.
