What a waste of a sacrifice that would be. :( At the very least he should be practice for baby PCs.

Sacrifice is the wasteful course of action, a run through the courts with the people deciding his guilt has much more worth to SD.

Monitor his actions and movements, including who he interacted with. And then monitor those people as well.

I'm not opposed to having the Red Priests in SD. That's inevitable, for now. I'm steadfastly against the implied approval and authority it gives this particular Red Priest if we openly invite him to the island.

You keep a poisonous viper at arm's length. You don't willingly stuff it down your pants and start doing jumping jacks.

I think your assumption of "approval" and what that means is the problem here.

SD does not have closed borders, he would be allowed here otherwise, we are not going to give a speech about our good friend the Red Priest and parade him around like Baratheon did with his drinking buddy. This isn't a public relationship.

If asked, and I doubt we would be, we simply state he is as welcome to SD as any other immigrant which is 100% true.

You assume a benefit he's not going to get, read the tone of the thread, everyone is on board with "fuck this guy" he won't be getting any concessions, he'll pay for his own room and board, he will not be handed space for a church to be built or to preach etc

You're in panic mode bro.

Hrm, I was wondering about the logistics of getting our men to Lys in a timely manner. I'd prefer not to leave the tree unattended for too long, but I also don't want to reveal the teleporting tower so close to Tyrosh. In Sallosh it was fine because it's both remote (few witnesses) and far away (witness unlikely to spread news to Tyrosh), but Lys is right next door to Tyrosh.

A potential solution I thought was, we're strong enough to teleport with an empty ship at this point, right? Teleport an empty ship about half-a-day away from Lys, and then load the soldiers and sailors up in the tower and teleport back to the ship. They can unload there safely, but it's not in view of the entire city of Lys, and shouldn't tie us to Lys for longer than we intended to poke around there anyway (and wrap up the last remaining details).

Or just teleport the shadow tower to the inside of the tree.
"Those? Oh, they were there all along"

Garin can cast Mass Invisibility and affect everyone within the Shadow Tower, then have them all exit through the Plinth, which is hidden within an illusion of some sort. Once everyone is present, we remove the Plinth and have Garin cancel the Mass Invisibility spell.

No, ya'll just don't seem to keep the appropriate paranoia level when you think we have everything under our control.

This isn't a lack of paranoia, I'm MORE worried about him running around Westeros, admittedly for the Meta reason that he's had screen focus, if we let him slip off a Red Priest who has "directly felt his divine flame" or whatever term it was used will ruin plenty in Westeros before we catch up to him again.

So with Westeros not an option l'm voting with SD and we manipulate him or he goes to the Wall.

Are we going to invade Lys in the coming months? Or is everything we're doing right now a distraction, while our army gets ready to invade?

Doesn't a supernaturally loud gong ring out, every time the tower is opened and closed? I never got the impression it was stealthy unless it was just sitting there, open.

Alright then go ahead and explain, what's some random low level cleric going to do? Keeping in mind he can't do shit because honestly we already have gods doing miracles and trying his usual crap of being the only game in town is going to get him laughs at best and beatings by minotaurs at most.

In Westeros he could wreck havoc and get himself a huge following, since Septons have no powers and no charisma whatsoever. But in SD he'll struggle to do so much as keep up with our homegrown mages, let alone our actual places of worship.

I've explained my reasoning sufficiently, IMO. Not going to worry about it anymore, except to say "I told you so!" if it comes back to bite us in the ass.

I keep seeing ya'll reference how using the Tower is "loud" in a metaphysical sense, but I don't remember that mentioned anywhere in the story. Is it something DP said that I missed?

And so what if it is loud? That could be explained easily enough by us transporting a hundred plus fully equipped Legion soldiers all at once. And wouldn't that be a neat trick? For those adequately versed in Arcane magic, especially those who know the normal limitations of Teleportation spells, what might they think if multiple witnesses report that we appear capable of moving so many people at once?

I had a thought for Vee: what if, instead of a whole domain, we switch it up for the Beastmaster's improved animal companion?

At ECL15/16, a Giant Anaconda would be just right. It has big numbers, but relies on one simple, mundane trick.

"Circle magic bullshit."

I would rather her have the spells. It would be different if she prepared her spells, but she's limited to her spell list, and doesn't have the same workarounds as Lya, Dany, or Viserys.

The Balance Domain would be ideal, considering how many of our party members have a Neutral component to their alignment. Dany has to be careful using Holy Word when she's in Half-Celestial form because we have so many non-Good party members. That'll also be a problem for her and Malarys when they can cast 7th level spells. Dictum, Holy Word, and Blasphemy are all great spells, but we'll have to be wary of using them in all but the most contrived circumstances. Word of Balance will be much more party friendly.

I know which option is strongest. Word of Balance in particular is amazing, and Banishment definitely doesn't hurt.

But the other option is both cool and thematic.

A Giant Anaconda is so large that it will be confined to SD or need Shadow Tower travel, unless Vee dedicates all of her Teleport lifting capacity to hauling the thing around.

I'm normally the one arguing for thematic spells and effects, so believe me when I say I understand the desire to fit a theme, but in this case it just isn't worth the hassle, not when compared to what she could have.

And the thing's diet! We'd have to take the thing hunting in the jungle once a month just to keep up.

...which would probably be feasible, come to think of it.

In pm, I mentioned it to DP as a "battle form" of sorts for Slither, jumping out to defend Vee the next time she is in battle.

Lazy sneks. So lazy they don't even bother to eat things more than a few times a year.
