Any restrictions? Could we make a treant by coughing up the cost?

Can the Leshies self-replicate if supplied with regular bio-degradable reguse?

I was thinking about taking a few to start a waste disposal plant / seed colony in SD.
  1. Yes, though that is about the upper cap HD wise and an intelligent plant creatures would be more picky about their assignments, but as long as you are respectful of their limits they will help you out.
  2. Yes, though that sort of reproduction can take years, if you ant more of them quickly you have to pay the crafting cost.

@DragonParadox Not to nitpick, but Lya was supposed to go back to SD to pass the message along. It's a relatively easy fix, however, if we assume Dany had Word of Recall prepared, and has Vee Teleport her and Waymar back to Lys when she is ready.

1. Thought as much, though Fey have opinions too and we never ran into problems with them.

2. I had feared as much. Here I was hoping that they could form a small but stable population on their own. They have the same Free Will caveat after all, so it's not like we would gain free constructs.

CR 1: 450 Gold
CR 2: 600 Gold
CR 3: 900 Gold
CR 4 :1200 Gold
CR 5: 1800 Gold
CR 6: 2400 Gold
CR 7: 3600 Gold
CR 8: 4800 Gold
CR 9: 7200 Gold
CR 10: 9600 Gold

The Leshies are CR 2, the Phantoms are CR 3, and the Thornies are CR 3.

600 IM per Leshy... but at a 50% discount (thank God), so 300 IM which is much more palatable.

We're currently in a massive surplus of gold, so if we can manage I would like to get quite a bit. I think 6000 IM for 20 Leshies wouldn't hurt much at all. And the more of them there are the more that can reproduce on their own.

@DragonParadox, how long does it take for them to reproduce naturally? (as in exact number of years)

We should definitely consider their uses, but leaving them here for now seems wise. I would even consider investing in some more powerful plant guardians for the place. Treant sounds cool?

I would much, much rather create two Treants with the Advanced and Fungal Creature Templates than 20 Leshy. The two templates would put them at CR 10, so that would be 4800 IM each. And they would be super useful.

If there was ever a more appropriate place or time to create advanced sentient plant creatures, this is it.

I guess there's no problem taking along a half dozen leshys. Leshys seem the most ubiquitous in their use.

No reason we can't do both? We just have that much spare cash now.

But we can't make those Treants until we spend Lya and Vee time with the Flesh Forge, @Goldfish. No reason not to make Leshies in the meantime.

@DragonParadox How long would Vee need to study the altered Flesh Forge before she could produce different sorts of plant creatures?

One Leshy is a stable population technically. It's not like they are endangered by inbreeding, they reproduce by budding.
I meant in the ecological sense.

I had hoped that a given source of magic or available plant matter can sustain a given amount of Leshy. Say SDs bio refuse could sustain 20 Leshy, so a seed population of 5 would grow to 10 in a few months and then grow less and less fast until reaching the cap.

On another matter, would a few Leaf Leshys be good gardeners to make SD more green? We talked about increasing the amount of living plants in the city to make it a valid target for Commune with Nature.

Leshy auxiliaries in the Legion could be quite devastating, it's kinda hard to maintain effective formation when you're forced into tunnel vision by spore attack limiting it to 10ft, while our Legionnaires love standing and fighting most of our non-Legionnaires are mobility based, though I really do almost feel bad for their archers.

Ooh. @DragonParadox, so with an enhanced Flesh Forge we will be able to make different kinds of Leshies? :D

This place is so great. What a fantastic reward for the sacrifice.

Since DP said we can do it, instead of creating a large number of normal Leshy, Phantom Fungus, or Thorn Hounds, we could make fewer of them, but give them the Advanced Template. It's just a +1 CR increase, but increases Natural Armor by +2 and all attributes by +4. They would be better in every way, including gain more skill points.

@Azel Fungal leshies seem more good at creating good soil conditions for plants to grow than they do with actually tending them. There are leshies with skills and abilities that make them good at that stuff though.

Basically they're good waste disposal, which can then improve crop yields.

Which is why I asked about Leaf Leshys. A few Leafs and some Fungal should make a good gardening group.

@DragonParadox, would the increased CR creatures breed more of their kind or just breed their normal variants instead?

Either way, for now I'm way more interested in establishing strong breeding populations rather than getting them for battle use.
