The need for some sort of magical cargo transport is becoming more and more pressing. We'd save a lot of headaches and time if we had some sort of magical equivalent to a Hercules Transport Aircraft, to move low to mid priority cargo and passengers and not waste time on Teleporting, plus the ability to use it in the background without our presence being needed.

Could we devote a bit of time to finish the lore on the Flying Ships and build a simple, lightly armed cargo version? With all we've seen on the PoMS, the partial lore from that dead valyrian enchantress, plus a few Malarys pointers should do the trick in no time.

Still wary of Good corruption from learning alignment-tagged magic from the Archons.

@DragonParadox
Is Vee at any risk of going CG from all that Leskylor and Unicorn summoning?

Slightly so, but she is pretty resistant to that sort of influence from sheer stuborness.

Anyway, vote closed.

D:
We didn't get to make any use of him while he still lived!
Noooooooooo!

By power of easy combing through sellswords I compel you!
@Azel!
Get back here and change the vote to minimise wastefulness!

This is utterly weird... Has anyone had this problem?

Try turning your device off and on again before you uninstall anything.

Whatever.
Can't count on Azel coming back but my greed conscience won't let me leave this vote as it is.
G'night guys.

[X] Have him questioned further on the matter of other sellswords left here.Have him name those he knows are criminals, who of them is a believer in Tiamat and who is in it just for money, who can be "trusted" and generally get all useful information on people around ruins he knows.
[X] Have him tell you about any stashes or hide-aways of Golden Cloaks' he knows of.
[X] Have him tell us whatever he knows of the layout of ruins, what precautions sellswords used here, where are the dangerous places they kept away from.
[X] Kill him and burn the body. Nobody can claim arbitraryness when nobody witnesses his death.

The part with "who is a believer" is just to not waste time later, he just might know something useful on any topic here and that'll save us some time.

It's definintly the browser. Chrome works fine.

See you guys in the morning with hopoefully more writting and not technical dificulties. Worse comes to worse I'll just make a new thread.

@everyone please consider switching to my vote.
Killing him without at least attempting to gain more information is just wasteful.

Sure, the more info the better I say.

[X] Have him tell you all he knows about dead buried here, who was that priest Tiamat's cleric attempted to wake, what precautions were taken by sellswords and cleric to deal with undead, again, anything useful.

@egoo, this has already been answered.
@DragonParadox, does Mudd know about any treasures that were stored here that weren't taken by Illyrio? And does he know anything of the nature of the undead of Sallosh, like what exactly the High Priest the Battlemage Cleric was trying to summon is?
No, he kept away from such dangerous knowledge for his own safety.

@egoo, this has already been answered.
edited that out.
Actually, scratch that, let him tell us of precautions they put here, whatever he knows of local layout, just things any person that values his life will know in a dead-infested dungeon

Huh. It's 3.33 and I'm to wake up at 6.30. My sleep schedule is broken.
Eh, this quest is worth it.

@DragonParadox please please please don't make a new thread. Finding things would be extremely difficult if we had to search through two threads! And archive binges and downloads would be way harder!
Worse comes to worse, try updating your browser. Or using chrome.

I still remember the times when Tiamat tried to influence us to make choices which would increase her ability to do stuff in the Material indirectly. The biggest of which was hatching some chromatic dragons.

As if. I also get the impression however that she always knew we did not want to be her slaves, nor had any intention of being so. What really surprised her wasn't our sudden yet inevitable betrayal, we were too well-read and magically educated not to know she was a bad dealer.

It was surprise that we betrayed her so well that Dany managed to steal her invested power from her.

This is another reason I don't want to heart tree sacrifice the priests. We need to permakill them. If not by Yss then some other way. They're not all of her servants, obviously, but they were some of her most powerful, and it takes a bit more leverage away from her faction in the Blackfyre conspiracy. More time spent infighting is better for us if we're going to settle accounts with the GC later rather than right now.

I would be willing to feed the two Clerics to Yss even if we can't directly benefit from any boons as a result. If we can't do that, we should use Smoky Confinement on the Turtle-Clerics, lock the bottles in the anti-Divination box we kept the Unraveling in, then store that box in a hidden alcove of the Shadow Tower until Yss is feeling peckish again.

Gain Life-Spark Gem
  • -10% Cost for intelligent constructs (stacks with Extraordinary Artisan)
  • Can be implanted in an artificial being as part of its creation (???)

Definitely rather have this in the Herald than discount on a couple Arcanums at most, we just don't make that many intelligent artificial beings and it doesn't enhance them in any way at all.
We can tank the occasional 10% (a price we were already willing to pay) but we can't casually make Unique Beings.

You have but to speak the word and a man will kill or die at your command, betraying any sentiments however noble or base he may have held... what kind could match this heady, dreadful, power?

We brang Ser Richard to the interrogation?

Thank you! :D I'm so glad I have an ally for this. I really want them perma-killed instead of fed to the Old Gods. That's actually have the reason I wanted to clear out the ruins of Sallosh--I want to capture some sentient undead for replacements.

Also... we're going to try to sacrifice the Lich in Lys. He demonstrated Level 4 spells, but there's a very good chance he can cast level 5 or even level 6. We never actually saw him go all-out. In any case, at absolute minimum, the Lich is level 8.

Lich 8 HD -- Creature Capable of casting spells (not SLAs): +25% -- Undead: +40% -- 13.2 HD

Here are the total sacrifices we've already collected:

Sacrifices:

Advanced Vrock (10 HD; Smoky Confinement) -- True Outsider (Called): +35% -- 13.5 HD
Gibbering Abomination (13 HD; Smoky Confinement) -- Aberration: +35% -- 17.55 HD
Advanced Gibbering Mouther (13 HD; Smoky Confinement) -- Aberration: +35% -- 17.55 HD
Cleric of Tiamat -- the Shadow Weaver (11-12 HD; Smoky Confinement) -- Creature Capable of casting spells (not SLAs): +25% -- 13.75 or 15 HD
Cleric of Tiamat -- the Battle Mage (13 HD; Baleful Polymorph) -- Creature Capable of casting spells (not SLAs): +25% -- 16.25 HD
12 HD -- Creature Capable of casting spells (not SLAs): +25% -- Undead: +40% -- 19.8 HD

Total: 78.6 or 79.85 HD, depending on whether the Shadow Weaver is level 11 or 12.

If we don't add the clerics to the pile for the Lys Heart Tree, we're looking at 48.6 HD of the required 54 HD for a Tier-3 Heart Tree. Adding the Lich on the pile would bump that up to 61.8 HD. Probably even more than that if it turns out he's stronger than I'm estimating. And that's completely ignoring whatever undead we manage to capture for sacrifice while purging Sallosh.

With that in mind and our sacrifices reasonably secured, I want the clerics fed to Yss.

The Lich cast a 4th level spell Heightened to 6th level. As a Sorcerer, to cast that spell it had to be at least 12th level.

Same here, basically.
Old Gods are good for when we'll be doing divination battles with Tiamat, but they'll hardly provide us with boons we want.

Feeding Yss on the other hand will simultaneously make da best snek stronger, permakill these assholes and as such - will deny resources to Timmy and will give us some boon lots of people want.

Extra spell slots or inherent charisma bonus, I don't really care, but Azel and some others are pretty hyped about it, and, well Yss will actually understand what we want of him.

...please vote me?
Or, like, please explain why killing him without any further questions is better?

Ah. Thanks. That was bothering me. I knew it was strong, I just couldn't remember how strong.

A level 12 Lich...

12 HD -- Creature Capable of casting spells (not SLAs): +25% -- Undead: +40% -- 19.8 HD

So if we manage to sacrifice the Lich and leave out the clerics, we're looking at 68.4 HD for the Tier-3 Lys Heart Tree.

I want Tyene there to capture that thing. Her Chains of Light should be abused for this.
