Now that I think about it, we don't even know how far Westeros goes(the extent of the Land of Always Winter is a big ol' ???), let alone Essos. Sothoryos and Ulthos might as well be Jumanji.

No, bad Crake. You are not a dragon. :p

One's innate draconic affinity isn't for outside perspectives to decide... people keep trying to make Viserys seem less of a dragon than he is, and how's that working out for them? ;)

Asshai may not be expansionist(as far as we know), but that doesn't mean there might not be people there with as much or more magic than we have. This is the same Asshai where Melisandre claims to hail from(or where she learned her hax), the same Asshai that would have had a head-start on the rest of Planetos(though for all we know there might be similar such cities in Ulthos or Sothoryos or some continent we haven't even heard of, let alone seen).

Also, when was the last time DP even said that? I'm also quite sure he did not say at the literal top, but among the top, because the first would make no sense in the context of someone we know is stronger, and that is Bloodraven. We have no clue who else might be out there that's at his level. The crux of the matter is we have no clue how far Planetos actually stretches, it might just be Sothoryos and Ulthos that stretch on and on, or there might be some sort of Americas type deal, we simply do not know.

I think it beyond arrogant of us to assume we're at the top of the shitheap and rest on our laurels, seeing as people like Bloodraven were out there long before Viserys was even a twinkle in good ol' Mad King Aerys' eyes. From the locales we know, there's Leng and its god-empresses who consort with Old Ones, Yi Ti with its ancient history and lore(and this absolutely batshit monster), Valyria and whatever remnants survived, like what few liches might have persisted past the Doom. I feel it's pertinent I mention Asshai again, cause seriously, Asshai.

We might be near near and around the top of Planetos, but to assume we are the best is pure hubris.

I don't assume we are the best, just among them.

I believe that the likelihood of PoB being discovered and travelled to if we don't contribute is quite low, a combination of the lack of candidates to do so on basis of level and class, their ability to leave without a known destination, having to deal with at least some of the bullshit we do and the big ones Greed&Fear, it is so incredibly attractive to pretty much anyone on Planetos to remain Big Fish in Small Pond, you get to abuse the system you've always known and moving into the Planes is dangerous, dangerous enough not to almost not be worth it for anyone who would get there and if you're the type who would do dangerous things for power there are already Devils and Demons and Aberrations. Even your argument that we don't know all of Planetos is an argument against it being travelled to, we haven't encountered these potential others so they haven't discovered us and that means they have unfinished on Planetos before running off-plane, just like us.

Overall the chance is low enough that it's not worth giving away the game.

@DragonParadox
Could BloodRaven Planar Travel? Obviously he has the level and the spell (even if it takes him a couple days to change it, grumble) but would he have anywhere to go without a token etc? I'm hoping this came up when we were talking about our own travels.

Futily trying for a compromise.

[X] "Viserys Targaryen, Lord of Flame and Sky. And company."
-[X] Let the others introduce themselves if they feel the need.
-[X] Once inside, ask if the location is warded and, apologizing for the slight misdirection, reintroduce yourself as King Viserys Targaryen, of Sorcerers Deep.

To be fair, you'd said we were "at the top", not among the top. I would not have disagreed if you had said the latter.

The issue is, shit happens. It's not like people don't overextend or reach past what is wise, and with the power-hungry, that is almost assured. Just lo and behold the Listener, plenty of power in his hands, but with the wisdom of a particularly clever rock. Planetos is no doubt full of such... wonderful characters.

@Goldfish? You there?

And I suppose if a sufficient quantity leave his vote for Azel's, I'll support it, but I like the supporting argument for holding off until we're sure we'll actually benefit from disclosure.

Bloodraven does not have plane shift, because of the nature of his gods. Even if he did have it he is quite literally rooted in place.

Vote Tally.

Also, Azel. Think we should have our tinker fey start working on siege weapons for the wall? Ballistae, mostly, on each of the bastions, though I suppose lighter scorpions along the wall would give them some more punch. We could at least focus that work on the seaward side, for now, to cut down on spending, and they might actually see some use if someone tries to take the Deep by storm using a large navy.

Though even the fear of not being able to attrite a sufficiently large invasion force sort of falls flat when we gain even more mass destruction capacity against copious amounts of mooks after we hit 15th Level. Even less stamina issues than we presently have to concern us, considering every four rounds we could probably light a ship on fire.

Not that I'd prefer to sink an entire fleet. Preferable to get them to surrender long before we've had to sink even a dozen ships.

Siege weapons might have some utility against enemy dragons though.

I was going to write "aside from him being immobile" but I thought that would be too pedantic, I've underestimated you.

Seeing the tally above, the vote is not closed since you guys are still hammering it out.

It's the same argument all day, this is as much consensus as you are going to get.

Well. Doesn't look as if many people are there.

My main thing is, only two people can really afford to change their vote from the current lead, and have it still retain majority over TNE's, which would still make your vote fall two short of it.

So we kind of need either TNE or Goldfish to compromise vote, or to close it now.

Edit: Faceless'd.
