Could we just transform some horny bastard into a CoTF for a hot minute, have him and a willing female do the horizontal tango, and then let the Natural CoTF raise the result?

Keep in mind I'm rather late to the conversation so I don't know exactly why Humans aren't viable.

Been there, stopped that to move, am going to do it again even harder to get my own place. I feel your pain.
Humans are viable, males are however not viable, a rule of polymorph is, any part separated from the whole revert, so if we polymorph the male, well the seed will transform back to human seed at climax, the reason it's likely to work with females, is that pregnancy happen in the mothers body, so the baby wont separate from the whole, before it has grown so much it don't matter that the initial cell transform back.
When the transformed sperm leaves the man's (temp CotF) body, it will revert back to human sperm.

By having the female be CotF via PAO, then only one cell in the baby will be half CotF-half human and the rest will be CotF.

This obviously requires the female carrying the child to term... Oh! Can we transfer the fetous from a polymorphed human to a CotF after about a month or two maybe?

We have Vee, Lya and Blood Wish.
I want to keep whoever we hire to carry the child transformed as long as possible, CotF all has the ability to become Rangers and Druids, I want to see if she can learn to be a druid while pregnant, and if so whether she loses the class if/when she detransform.
Unlikely we're going to do this from scrolls, I know you're keen but they've waited literally thousands of years, pretty sure 6 months will be fine.

It is also only cheaper in coin, it is more expensive in every other way, socially, magically, emotionally, biologically or do you think DP will just let it slide that a human had a different brain for 9 months.

I'm fine with a quirky Dugong, not so much a hooker who now has schizophrenia from the exposure to ancestral network.
We don't know if it work yet, I want to buy a scroll for a single try experiment to see if it works, and in the unlikely case that there's major consequences to going from one humanoid to another mentally, well that's what Heart's ease is for.
I'm not going to support putting any resources or party member time into trying to solve the CotF's population decline. They aren't worth the effort right now. That might change later, though.

I still believe finding isolated populations of the CotF in other places would be our best bet for easily solving, or at the very least staving off the decline. Seems like a great mission for baby adventurers.
It's very unlikely there's any isolated colonies, CotF grows Weirwood, so unless those colonies survived but lost access to Weirwood, well they should already be known to our CotF.

Lost colonies of a specie with a mental communication network isn't that likely.
Don't worry, this is something for after most of our conquests.
I want to do a testrun now, but that's not exactly a major expense, 1 scroll of Polymorph any Object, and about a 100 IM to pay a whore to agree to change species and have a child, that's 700 IM total, not cheap but not anything big for us at this point, and it will allow us to begin to do it big scale months earlier when we are ready, seeing as we need to know if it works before we do it more than once.
Something that @Crake forgot is that the Artificial Womb plan scales a lot better then the other options.

We can use it to mass-produce Minotaurs, Gorgotauers, hideous fish/spider hybrids, humans and a whole bunch of designer species.
Yes but artificial womb don't fix the whole shallow genetic pool problem, so we should probably do both, so I hope I can get support for a testrun, it's not like it's that major, I need 700 IM to buy a scroll, and bribe a whore to change species and have a child.

We buy 1 scroll for now, bribe a whore, and then we just wait until the child is born just in case it turns out the plan don't work, it even have the nice side effect of impressing Lya, I'm sure she will love this mad science experiment.

I'm probably missing something about how Polymorph Any Object works, but can't we just directly transform human sperm into CotF sperm? (Outside the human body.)
hideous fish/spider hybrids
Too far, man.

Seen this a few times.

Very against it, it's all kinds of messed up to "fix" the traits of their race and for it to be something as benign as shyness...

Well they call it a slippery slope for a reason...

Case in point.

I thought it was because that was where the water slide was set up?

I was wrong this whole time? :o

We want them to culturally revive the Children, not just racially.

There's no point in doing this if we don't have enough CotF to raise the resulting as CotF.
We've already got seventeen Children, we might gain quite a few Ifequevron. Between them as caretakers, even just the ones we've already got, I don't think the culture would be lost as you fear. Especially since Children hear the Song, and so will the babies. They'll learn at the roots of the weirwood just fine.

That wasn't shyness, that was an innate sense of inevitability. A sense of "everyone dies, and our time is soon" that led the last ones to quietly live out the last of their days with Bloodraven. I was actually astonished that so many Children wanted to save their race at all.

But anyway, regarding this the plan was just to ask the Children. It's really their call in the end. If they don't like the idea we won't do it.

Think I know how we find more divine allies, who will be in our debt:

Holy Refuge

"Browse at your leisure."

If the Sealord need convincing perhaps a quick visit to Yss temple helps.

Edit: Or we luck out and can sacrifice a CE diety artifact to Yss again. :p

As I've said, I'm perfectly fine with trying multiple approaches at the same time.

I'm just saying that this is the method producing the most units per time with the least amount of problems. Fixing their gene pool is another matter.

We should invite her to visit our lands after she let's her father know she is safe. Them finding out we're from the Prime plane is worth it considering the level of royalty we're dealing with. I'm sure they'll find it themselves with only a little work if we dont.

We'll go to the deity flea market later, we've got to play 'Suave Prince Viserys' for a while first.

Best impressions and all that, and we're walking into a political situation that changed quite a bit due to our, ahem, valiant efforts at slaying a rather nasty enemy.

I would argue that making an offer of adding an innate sense of tenacity to the mix isn't a bad one in principle.

Part of the reason humanity ever lasts so long, when it is typically up against insurmountable odds, in fantasy stories, or stories in general, is that they are just too stubborn to accept the impossible is really impossible, too stubborn to accept inevitability or logic or reason, when it runs counter to their own desires.

Humans aren't stronger than everyone else, and unlike what some might suppose, it is neither manual dexterity nor intelligence which made them supreme, those are merely traits which were favored over generations of time. It is stamina, perhaps more accurately stubbornness, which made man unusually deadly compared to pretty much all of their competitors.

For Gods' sake, we don't even breed that fast! We just don't know when to stop!

That is what makes us Us.

It's not what makes them Them.

Usain Bolt can't golf worth a shit and Federer ain't the fastest swimmer but they're both great athletes.

Let them excel in the way they do, the fact they wanted to come with us and want to revive their race means they have enough gumption.

Unless the world of man tries all over again to extinct them they'll be fine and if that's happening we have much bigger problems than their meekness.

So how about:

  1. Finish Tyrosh.
  2. Dedicate time to set up legion recruitment offices in Lamentation, Crackclaw, Braavos, Tyrosh and Mantarys.
    • Synergize general westerosi recruitment with the tavern run.
  3. Churn out massive amounts of troops.
  4. Coordinate 4 party groups to toppling each of the Free Cities.
  5. Fucking finally have a fleshforge to utilize in Qohor.

Or we could ask the Children what they want instead of deciding for them. This is their choice, not ours.

Are you kidding, you murder any living thing and Negative energy gets the chance to apply it's template (Undead), you know how hard they have it making a Fire Fish or a Boulder Bird while you bloody Stillhearts complain about underrepresentation?
By right we should be the majority, after all, if you for example take the history of Planetos there are a lot more dead persons than live ones ...

That comes with it being, well, antithetical to it ;).
Always with this prejudice ...
