Nothing really seemed to fit, but if you guys can sell me on one fluff-wise I would allow it.

What about:

Pride of Arms: We could fluff it to be a pride in the traditional weapons of her people (axes, boarding pikes, daggers), with her disdain for everything else causing the attack penalties.

and

Glory Hound: Asha wants glory and recognition for herself as a paragon of her people, a raider extraordinaire, right? This one seems perfect for her, IMO.

  1. The second one would be too detrimental I think, she really needs her AC high given the build.
  2. The first I could see.

Are you going to let her have one or two flaws?

If two, how about Free Spirited? Ironborn raiders strike hard and fast, not carrying much more with them than their weapons and whatever armor they are willing to risk wearing. Feasible?

One flaw seems enough. What feat are you thinking of pairing it with?
I have some proposals;

Intimidating Strike [General, Fighter] (PH2 p79) Intimidate: 4 ranks
When attacking as a Standard Action, subtract X from your attack roll, where X is from 0 to your Base Attack Bonus. If you hit, immediately make an Intimidate check with a bonus of X vs. the opponent you just hit. If successful, the opponent is Shaken for the rest of this encounter.

Agile Athlete [General] (RotW p148) Climb: 1 rank Jump: 1 rank
When making Climb and Jump checks, add your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier.

Expeditious Dodge [General, Fighter] (RotW p150) Dexterity 13
Gain a +2 Dodge bonus to AC when you move 40' or more in a single turn. Lasts until your next turn. Note: This feat counts as 'Dodge' for purposes of qualifying for other feats, prestige classes, etc.

or a generic feat tax feat, Dodge, Combat Reflexes, Combat Expertise

Combat Reflexes... that is what I was planing for her next bonus feat. She could take it 'now'. and for her it would be far more than a 'feat tax' because say something with a lot of low bonus secondary attacks charges to full-attack. For every one of those missed attacks, she gets an attack at her highest attack bonus.

BTW could someone write up a PC-grade character sheet for Theon? I've decided to give Moonsong's crew their own section on the front page: silver corsairs.

Mission accepted.

Awesome name, too!

For the language bit, it pretty much has to be a living language. If we go with High Valyrian, it'll become new dialects of Low Valyrian soon enough. It's also a language family, in that, with some difficulty, a Westerosi can use their High Valyrian to understand and make themselves understood.

I'm sure there are weird idiosyncrasies through High Valyrian and all the different dialects of Low Valyrian. Why not clean up the grammar a little bit, make things a little more intuitive to learn, and have someone make an Imperial Valyrian?

I still want a clean and orderly artificial language.

Human language evolved to ask someone to pass that banana. What we need is a language made to fill out tax forms.

I like conlangs as much as the next person, but I think ordering Valyrian into Imperial Valyrian is a much more reachable objective than making a conlang and getting it to stick when you have competing trade languages (common and the Valyrian language family). I'm not even sure the "study of languages" has matured fully into linguistics yet in asoiaf.

You know I just realized you are not paying Leila anything when her crafting services are going to become ever more important for suiting up arcanums and secondary parties. What would you guys say is fair monthly pay for an enchanter of her skill?

Standard prices for such services on DMG? We can lower that value if we provide her with other benefits though.

What was a normal skilled craftsmen? 3-5 IM a year or something? 10 IM a month then? It would put her at 120 IM a year, which is respectable guildmaster level I would think for a normal craft.

10% of the product?
She'd be rather rich quickly.

She's far too important to us to underpay with a normal artisan's wage. But by the same token, 10% of all her products she crafts makes me wince a bit.

@DragonParadox, say a yearly wage of 200 IM? That makes her very rich, and it doesn't cut into our funds too deeply.

That is not really taking into consideration the sheer scarcity of enchanters right now. To put this another way, if you did not have her you would have to spend Lya's time to make those objects. She saved you roughly two days of that time this month alone and those numbers are only going to go up.

Alright. Thinking on it further, yearly wage of 500 IM, with room to move up with more time. She's one of our most valued baby PCs, and this still isn't too much of a bitter pill to swallow.

What would she ask for?

Either from us, or if she went over to the Sealord and offered her enchanting for the Silver Eye, what would she take?

120 IM a year, and 5% commission on items? It increases the price swing between them, though, but I think we're at the point where Lya just can't personally make everything we want fast enough.

@DragonParadox, I think you are scratching on a more fundamental problem there. Our accounting is pretty rough in all areas.

Maybe we should solve this more fundamentally. @Tomcost and me tried to do so in the past, but we would need a bite more support from you there. Especially since this is now reaching the point where we should discuss budgets, not individual wages.

@Diomedon, one of the major concerns I've got is if Salladhor or someone else tries to court Leila and manages to convince her to leave Sorcerer's Deep. This is less about paying her wages and more about showing her that here she's truly valued and important. As part of that I want to pay Leila generously. Way more generously than 120 IM per year.

@DragonParadox, could we name Leila as Lya's official and foremost assistant as a part of this? Give her a formal title to boot.
