Why don't we read another excerpt then?

Moar NSFW

But seriously, back on topic... Well main topic that is, since everyone seem to want being battle ready...

I'm sorry I know we should be on topic but that is the most akward erotica passage I have ever read in my life:lol:rofl:. This needs a let's read on QQ. Its like a natural parody of itself.
For our Legion of Doom in the future and in honor of our favorite archdevil of the Nine Hells and speech composer Azel: Baator Weabo Fighting Magic knowledge of good mechanics from me not included.

I wouldn't be so sure about that, it did earn an award and was apparently beloved my many writers, you may go in thinking its dumb beastiality erotica only to find profound philosophical questions and that the bear is a metaphor for ourselves.

the bear is a metaphor for ourselves.

It's not a metaphor. It's a literal bear. Here's a quote from modern day reviewers.

"As time goes on, Lou realizes she's in love with the bear. Bear, being a bear, does not reciprocate her feelings. Is there a more total rejection than being turned down by a wild animal?"

But seriously, back on topic. I hope we can get the werebears to side with the Night's Watch.

@Goldfish might want to change 'wildling' to 'Freeman' - wildling is an insult

Polite niceties go to those who earn them. Civilized people aren't wrong for accusing these guys of being savages.

Now the southrons who accuse most of the northmen living south of the wall of being barbarians are idiots, but from where I stand that's not really a prevalent problem, seeing as how the South rarely has anything to do with the North.

Wildlings are wild. If they see it as not-so-complimentary, that just showcases the sheer degree of values dissonance.

yeah, but a literal bear can still be a metaphor.

I somewhat disagree a bit with this, I mean, you're not wrong on the savage bit, but polite niceties go to whoever it would benefit us to think us polite, or at least non-insulting. So, Free-folk > wildlings when with wildings, and insults for when we are trying to integrate with someone who hates them for whatever (undoubtedly reasonable) reason :)

so I just started reading this how does the resurgence of magic affect people who don't use it like fighters does it give them more potential or something than they did before?

-[X] Viserys says, "I am a foe of any creature which preys upon mankind, be it Winterborn monstrosity or spirit-possessed puppet. What manner of being are you, and by what right do you claim the lives of those who have done you no harm?"
--[X] If the Bear-man attacks, Viserys casts Assay Spell Resistance, then targets it with Necrotic Bomb, being careful to avoid catching Richard in the blast. If Richard has already closed to melee with it, use Searing Agonizing Elemental Fire Darts rather than Necrotic Bomb. If the Bear-man still lives, Viserys then casts Celerity and targets it with Searing Agonizing Elemental Fire Darts. Viserys will use his Moment of Greatness buff to double the +2 Morale bonus to Ranged Attacks when he first launches a volley of Fire Darts at the Bear-man.
-[X] Dany casts Close Wounds on Harwood. If the Bear-man attacks, she targets it with a Reached Harm spell. If it does not, she instead moves to provide further healing to Harwood, using one charge from her Healing Belt. If possible, in each of the following rounds, she will use another charge until the belt is depleted or Harwood is fully healed. Dany will use her Moment of Greatness buff to double the +2 Morale bonus to Ranged Attacks if she uses Reached Harm against the Bear-man.
-[X] Richard interposes himself between the Bear-man and the others. At the first sign of aggression, he attacks using Pounce and Shock Trooper, Power Attacking as he sees fit.

Hello I have named myself the official Supreme Grandmaster of Weabo Fighting Magic cause I said so and here's what I think.
Most likely it will allow Fighters and other Martial Characters to develop to various degrees Charles Atlas Super Powers and in general epic and heroic deeds of legend will become far more common.
Of course YI Ti and the like is going full mystic martial arts and high end Wuxia most likely. While Westros becomes more like a medieval action movie for the warriors in it. Or at least that's what I think. I could be horrifically wrong on all of this quite easily.

Looked at a certain way Westeros is Alt!Americas to Essos' Alt!Eurasia and he lives in the farthest Northern part. Seem s legit.:V
While your here Dragon Paradox how correct am I on this?

Will Magic returning affect non spell casting classes as well?

Yes. PCs of martial classes will be able to more easily break the level 5 soft cap that has been in effect before the return of magic and can even make it to level 20 'demigod with of war'.
So, I'm assuming it wasn't too hard to break the soft cap, considering that Bronn was level 7(?) when he attacked us and we subsequently recruited him.

And he was just a sellsword, if an especially talented one.
Someone like Jamie Lannister or Barristan the Bold should be a couple levels higher than that, and with PC levels too.

Would that be a correct assumption, or would it be spoilers if you answered?

By soft cap, I take it that some figures even before the awakening of magic had managed to break it?

It makes some degree of sense, I mean there were clearly fighters of unusual prowess linked to ancient bloodlines who would have some sort of inherited power, like the Daynes.

Edit: Yes, I know Bloodraven is Level 17. I meant specifically martial fighters.

Bronn fought a level 11 Ser Richard to a standstill while wielding no magical gear, and still would have killed Ser Richard if it weren't for that Valyrian Steel Armor. Later on he managed to wound an Archer of the Wild hunt again with no magical gear.

There is no way in hell he's only level 7. It's got to be 11 and beyond.

Just like magic had never fully died so too did the potential for superhuman acts of martial prowess exit before. For instance members of the Night's Watch are on average four or so because they have comparatively a lot of rangers at 6-7 because they are practically living on one of the greatest magical artifacts in the world. For instance your friend with the axe is Expert 1/Warrior 2/Fighter 3.

The soft cap was lifted when magic returned, Bronn had just as long as we did to level up after magic returned.

That only seems to prove my point on the soft cap seeming to be very, very soft.

Bronn never mentioned fighting anything particularly impressive, and didn't even really know magic existed until we started showing it to him.
So unless he either got a shit ton of XP from fighting bandits and sellswords, or he happens to be some kind of super prodigy that just gets XP from existing (is that even possible?), there has to be a decent amount of fighters out there in the level 10 and beyond range.

I wouldn't be surprised, given Bronn's performance, if Barristan in his prime was around level 15 or so, considering that he was known as a once in a lifetime master.
Jamie was likely around level 12 or 13 before the return of magic, meaning he could have some ludicrous Tome of Battle prestige class at this point.
