It also happens to be the tax-office for the Bazaar.
We can propably kill the Bey without making too big enemies, but stealing the Sultan's tax-office seems like a bad idea.

At this point I feel we might as well write the place off entirely and reserve it as a place to vendor dump our stupid evil items. Plane of Air sounds much nicer anyway.

I hope we raid Illyrio next month by the way, before those three eggs go the way of Tiamat (if they havent already, I'm not hopeful). Besides, having that particular thorn unresolved during our conquest and stabilisation of Tyrosh seems like a capital B Bad Idea. Essosi wet work operatives funded by Illyrio would ruin our day fast.

We mocked an Avatar of Tiamat, are on Baators shit-list, antagonised half the deities we know about, got the personal attention of a Elder Brain and are pretty much destined to fight the Others.

He can draw a number and get in line.

Plane of Air next turn!
Not before double-checking that the Bey of Beggars hasn't done something stupidly antagonistic like attacking our Xorn friends in absence of being able to find us.

If the Xorn are harmed, the Bey is dead. If the Xorn were made into Living Brass, the Bey will be harvested for grafts, then sacrificed.

But DP said we were strong enough to go shopping in the City of Brass.
While that might not become our favorite extraplanar shooping mall, it's still worth checking out, so I'd prefer not to anger the Sultan yet.

I feel bad for Azel, it doesen't matter how much you sugar coat it @DragonParadox , your ruling effectively means evil/negative energy arcanums are done and gone, we will never go for them. Why would we create resentful/suffering people which furthermore have some chance to fuck up our plans?

I thought we'd gotten past the whole outdated morality system, but I should have known better. The DnD system is just too inmersed in it, and trying to find/build someone that is terrible to his enemies and has no qualms with dubious experiments but at the same time isn't likely to stab friends in the back or just be a psychopath (or indeed be happy with their lot in life) is very, very difficult, despite the fact that history is filled with loving husbands, caring fathers and loyal to the hilt, dreamy subordinates who committed the most horrifying of atrocities to enemies and neutrals, nationals hero's loved to this day that wpuld rather kill themselves than hurt family or country, yet were all too eager to genocide the out group...

DnD's cardboard morality system is a pain to navigate with arcanum creation and I beg you DP to just let it go in that regard and give us more sandbox freedoms. We are creating people out of energy wholecloth, with magic, why can't we design them as we want to within reason, leaving behind systems that were made in mind for tabletop rpg sessions and not this epic saga you have been taking us through. I don't care about stats, but personalities and motivations (fluff), which is after all the most I care about in this quest.

Just noticed this

This is not no negative energy or no evil, just suggestion that you not mix the two because nihilism and selfishness both taken to metaphysical extremes do not mix well.

You guys are aware that Meraxas is haunting the volantene equivalent of the House of Parliament, right?

I have no idea how this quest is supposed to work at all. We can't just go there and exorcise a dying goddess.

I agree it's unlikely, but some people seem to be really pushing for it. In case a vote for it goes though, I want the plan that has the best chance of success, which would be the "sneak by people who are relying on divination" route.

Best bet is Dany (mindblank template) + Ser Richard, to avoid Zherys's divination. Adding unprotected party members increases the risk.
Nah, more party members make it easier to fight off attacks completly if things go well, or hold them back so Dany can Shift everyone out if not.

Also, I'm optimistic that all the dead defenders of the City that have their graves around the temple will rise up and attack us if we fuck with Meraxes, so XP and loot in addition to the actual quest.

Why not ask for permission to look around the temple?
They didn't forbid us from visiting last time.

I just see no way this could go without either handing major power to Zherys or starting a war with Volantis.

And I don't want to waste party time on choosing the flavor of the salt.

No, either we go with her, all hands on deck situation (and have enough force present to deter Zherys) or we go in quiet and that means no divination (If Zherys isn't divining if we or our agents are visiting Volantis every morning, I'll eat Meraxes myself :V). Middle ground is worst case where he can respond but we don't have preponderance of force available.

Why would Zherys assault our party?

But even if he does, it will be with appropriate force and I have full trust in our party to win.
