BTW, he dropped oathkeeper!? someone is going to sleep in the couch tonight.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Mace of Smiting. That's a really good weapon. Worth 75k, too!

Come on, ya'll. Look at Holy Aura.

Holy Aura

Abjuration [Good]
Level: Cleric 8, Healer 8, Good 8, Elysium 8, Mysticism 8, Celestial 8,
Components: V, S, AF,
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: 20 ft.
Target: One creature/level in a 20-ft.-radius burst centered on you
Duration: 1 round/level (D)
Saving Throw: See text
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)

A brilliant divine radiance surrounds the subjects, protecting them from attacks, granting them resistance to spells cast by evil creatures, and causing evil creatures to become blinded when they strike the subjects. This abjuration has four effects.

First, each warded creature gains a +4 deflection bonus to AC and a +4 resistance bonus on saves. Unlike protection from evil, this benefit applies against all attacks, not just against attacks by evil creatures.

Second, each warded creature gains spell resistance 25 against evil spells and spells cast by evil creatures.

Third, the abjuration blocks possession and mental influence, just as protection from evil does.

Finally, if an evil creature succeeds on a melee attack against a warded creature, the offending attacker is blinded (Fortitude save negates, as blindness/deafness, but against holy aura's save DC).

Any evil creature that actually hits Richard will have to make a DC 22 Fortitude save or be permanently blinded. That's on top of all the other bonuses and effects the aura would have.

Told you guys.

@Goldfish, do you really want to turn this armor into nothing but hard to fence vendor trash?

Even if we have to special craft a Ring of Arming and make Richard another suit of Adamantine fullplate, it would be worth it. He could switch between the two as needed.

I mean Holy Aura is probably not a trap you guys. DP can't possibly want to get us with a 'gotcha' choice after all the salt over this arc and it's not like he would want the fancy custom Armor with the nice, lore filled backstory that we've worked so hard for turned into Vendor Trash, I'm sure it's-
True. Holy Aura is not subtle.
oh, it's a trap then, k

Even if the aura power causes the armor to radiate pure unadulterated Goodness, that's not much of a problem. In a lot of situations, that could be a benefit, and in those where it isn't, we can either kill those offended or just have him wear his backup Adamantine fullplate. A Ring of Arming would only cost us 500 IM and would allow Richard to instantly change from one suit to another, as needed.

I worried that now the armor would register as both Good and Evil, so we won't be able to pass any single alignment-related ward without a scene.

@Goldfish, is Salt armor any good? Cause we will soon need one and have an abudance of salt. We don't have enough Adamantine left for a new one.

Salt Armor would probably work really well if we go up against any giant carnivorous slugs.

As for the Adamantine, we still have all of what used to be the armor. None of it has been sold or given away, except for Garin's +1 Thinblade. That is only a few pounds we would need to scrounge up from some extra-planar marketplace. Or buy from the Xorn.

Another ex slaver town governed by beings of goodness, am starting to see a pattern. Daenerys new buddy, they can bond over overcoming the darkness within!

(Next turn have half-celestial-Dany and Deva figure out the wholr worship stick? Eternal governor Deva :drevil:)

So, this is the end of the armor's questline, or this is a side upgrade, independent of the spirits power (which we can still unlock via its quest)?

How can it be a 'trap' if I'm telling you the possible pitfalls?
Entirely correct. It was unfair of me to say it was a 'trap', I was being somewhat facetious.
Perhaps 'the pitfalls we've been informed of, combined with the ones we can safely assume come packaged with those or are implied by the very nature of the situation lead me to believe, based on previous experience, that this choice will by accident or design lead to additional unnecessary sodium.' would be more accurate.

Mostly because the majority of the voters is already in deep denial and talking themselves into ignoring the downsides.

See @Goldfish trying to argue the drawback into an advantage and hatching schemes to negate them that sound neat on paper, but will never work since you will hardly give us a written warning every time the drawbacks will hit.

It's shiny. So people want it, no matter if it's a sane choice or not.

So yeah. Not really a trap, since you don't try to mislead us, but also kinda a trap since the thread has proven time and time again to be utterly stupid once shiny is offered.
And will then later bitch and moan about the drawbacks.
