[X] Alliser Thorn, slowest-learning gish ever, finally returns to the Wall to teach the next generation of recruits his skills

Congratulations, Alinor, you managed to find the one noble in either West or East who is willing to talk statistics with you for hours! Lord Stannis will even state that the evening was "passable", so you know that he was the best time he's had in a while!

It's been almost five months IC since Marco became an Oracle of Viserys. I would love to see how his life has changed since then.

Can't say I care much about the guy.

Maybe this is even a better generation than the last few he had to deal with.

I wish to see the triplets! Both triplets again. Also let's hear from an old friend.

OOC: I rolled who Alinor would meet out of a list and it came up Stannis. They get along surprisingly well given their very different outlooks on life as it turns out
Is it really too surprising, given their attitude toward work-ethic? And following procedure, partly because Alinor wields it like a weapon, and Stannis has it as an outgrowth to his monomaniacal dedication to duty.

Even the whole "he's a high noble and she makes no secret of her past history" holds less weight on the outcome of this interaction since Stannis holds Davos in high regard, and while loyal and trustworthy and of course skilled in the roguish sense, Davos is honestly boasting a less impressive set of credentials to go along with his seedy past employment, and he was until recently presumably illiterate and even more prone to grammatical imperfection.

Simply having proper diction when many of his peers do not is probably refreshing. :p

ah, fuck it, three months isn't enough time for Marco to do anything interesting.

Well yeah, but if you asked both these people before they met if they would enjoy each other's company knowing only what is publicly known about the other they would have said no.

Been a long time since we've heard from a gish character that's not the Companions.

This might be too late since we already voted for Visery's lvl up but would it be possible to retrain Fireball and get an extra 3rd lvl spell since Viserys gets Fireball anyways from Divine Source/Fire Domain?

At a bare minimum we can keep it in mind for our Level 20 levelup. Did you have a Level 3 spell you were eyeing by chance?

I can't believe I missed that when I was writing the level up plan.

Can we do that, @DragonParadox? I haven't updated Viserys' character sheet with the new level up, so it would be easy to implement.

I've had my on Battering Blast for a while now, if ya'll are interested. It's a great combat spell with a lot of versatility. Force damage, so it affects damned near everything, including Incorporeal and Ethereal targets, it can be used against up to four targets or focused on fewer for greater effect, and it has a significant control aspect with its ability to Bull Rush targets. Use all four blasts against a single target and on top of doing 20d6 Force damage, it will have a +64 bonus to Bull Rush for Viserys at 19th level. That's stupid high.

I was going to say Dragonblood Affinity just so that we can buff Dany/our fellow dragon minions (pretty sure the spell can't be aimed at the user) but Goldfish has a better idea and the Mythic Lich showed us that we need more low spell level damage options.

Wow, that's a really solid spell. That bonus affects basically every important check and it's untyped, too, meaning it stacks with everything. If nothing else, Viserys and Dany could benefit from it regularly.

It's not something we would necessarily need to use in mid-combat, though, so I'm gonna put it down as a Page of Spell Knowledge.

I wonder why Clerics can't learn that spell. It seems perfect for most draconic gods and iirc most of their worshippers are already dragons. That should be the 3rd level Dragon Domain spell, instead of Greater Magic Fang.
