That should already be in place, since they were sufficiently disentangled from daily business to take up a Ministry post.

I mean, these choices should have been made months ago in a real-world setting, but we always kicked the can down the road or ignored the bureaucracy entirely.
Good point. Yeah, with that in mind, they should be able to transition to their new posts with a minimum of disruption, though a week or two to ease their subordinates into their new roles without be amiss.

I recall promising Lands to a bunch of Fey at some point, but I couldn't quite find that passage again... Am I hallucinating, or does anyone else remember this?

-[] Golden Mountains - Kora 'the Kindly'
-[] The Marches - Este Argalys

I like your choices, though I wonder if Kora 'the Kindly' would be a better fit for the Marches, though it might be a bit of a stretch I feel like her understanding of Military law will help her get along with the Marchers, what with their Strong military tradition.

Along with her experience in the Legion as a legal attaché.

The Marches are taking up part of the Reach, so I want Este there to deal with Fey bullshit and to support her neighbors in doing the same.

Also, if she manages to set up some economic developments, she can use those to wrangle the Marcher Lords into compliance.

A bit of a non-sequitur but I thought this would be cool to share, I just looked into what the new Amazon LOTR series is about and wonder of wonders they actually chose a sensible time period for what looks like and attempt to make GOT for Arda. They went with Second age Numenor over the silly early idea of the travels of Aragorn (which would have doubtless included really silly love interests and intrigues). Numenor at least has the advantage of being a decadent court with an evil wizard (Sauron) colonialism deadly intrigues, soul sworn to dark powers, the search for immortality etc...

Looks like we might actually be getting a decent fantasy series out of this, fingers crossed and all.

You know I would have actually liked to see something from the appendices that we don't really get to see ever.

Something like the End of the Angmar War where you could build-up to the Fall of Fornost and the Destruction of Arnor, with the option to follow the Dunedain as they go into their long exile if the show gets renewed.

Or hell, there's plenty of bits of the War of the Ring we never got to see, like the whole Easterling Invasion of Dale and the Siege of the Lonely Mountain.

I doubt it. I don't think they can properly portrays the themes of LOTR on a film screen.

The fall of the Northern kingdoms would have indeed been cool to see, though given that it happened over hundreds of years I imagine it would have been rather hard to get in one go. Numenor went out with a bang Arnor with a whisper. The kinstrife in Gondor might have been more cinematic. As for dale and the Lonely Mountain I'm afraid the foregone conclusion of 'this war will be won far away' would rather steal the thunder out of it.

I mean if the Witcher can pull off a story over a decade in 1 season, you could pull off the Angmar War over several seasons of TV.

You just have to build each season around a key event and advance the timeline by season. It'll be hard to pull off, but it can be done.

Plus it isn't like Amazon doesn't have like all the money in the world to put behind everything. . .

As to Dale, I think there's potential there, after all if Erebor didn't hold out, Gondor would have fallen before Rohan could get its shit together. Folks often forget that Dale was at war vs tens of thousands of easterlings while Elrond was still considering calling the council. . .

Eh... I agree, but on the other hand the Second Age is a bit of a blank canvas, and it is he story of Atlantis at the same time. If they get a halfway decent writer I think they should be able to make a good show of it, now if they had tried for the First Age I would be really worried about the quality of their implementation.

I think the show with the most potential of not fucking up would be covering Dale's resistance to invasion, but a competent crew could do something with Arnor.
