Least of bad options with several methods for mitigation. Too, bleeding Tywin in a ritual instead of having such stand show-trial is a small but appreciable PR hit.

Out of curiosity, if we assume the reins of the geas network and bind all affected to us, and then free them.
Is there anyway we can devise that would turn the seek a new master residual effect of the geas solely to Imperator/Imperium/Imperium's New God?
A sort of class alignment towards the imperium, sort of like how a new convert to a religion views all aspects of their life through the lens of the religion and tries to align their lives to the precepts of the religion.
So the the seek a new master effect becomes more like an instinctive be a good citizen of the Imperium effect.
I don't think we should try to tinker with this effect any more than absolutely necessary. If some of the freed Golden Shield mages happen to gravitate toward Imperial service, I won't complain, but I don't want to try to make that happen in this instance.

Even when all of the after-care is complete and there are no more lingering effects, A) I find it vastly unlikely you will be able to remove the tendency toward loyalty and duty without completely rewriting that person's personality in the doing, just temper the most unctuous and slavish urges.

And B) Viserys would have been personally responsible for highly visibly breaking their bindings and then spending absurd amounts of effort and resources on helping them more afterwards.

That will tend to engender some good will.

On the matter of the Legions, I've been thinking about doing a reform of their composition. Having the basic unit size be about 10,000 people does skew a lot of things pretty hard and it also presents some strategic problems. I mean, if we send a Legion to the PoE, will they take their horses along? The regular Legion lineup includes no less than 4 mounted companies, who would be utterly useless in tunnel fights. At the same time, we keep deploying companies with them such as the Siege Company, or even without them, such as the Darkenbeast Companies, so we already have precedent and need for a more flexible structure.

So I would IC reform the Legions to better accommodate the changing tactical requirements. Instead of one rigid structure that covers all bases, we would re-organize them in Brigades, made up of about 4 to 5 Companies on average, with usually 3 Brigades forming 1 Legion. With this smaller unit size, we could more easily accommodate more specialized forces in the system and make it easier to have a mix of troops on both sides of the engagement without bloating them to 100,000+ participants on each side. Each of our current Legions would thus be split into 2 Legion Batallions and 1 Mounted Legion Batallion.

Thoughts?

Okay, the Monsters are working in an interesting way.
They chew through Cannonfodder at a decent speed, but when faced with serious, disciplined resistance they quickly loose.
That works well in the narrative.

The Wight Legion is a bit stronger than I expect and hoped for, maybe the Readiness should be lowered a bit to represent them being rarer than the common Undead?

The Ghosts are doing what they should, they are extremly dangerous, but they loose against high-magic formations like the Illithids, Greater Devils or Eternal Guard, as those have a decent defence against their mostly non-physical attacks.
I guess for realism's sake they should do very little damage against the other Undead, but stuff like the Shambling Dead or Dothraki Ghould could barely hurt them at all in turn, so the final outcome is good as it is.

Are we going to need to publish our rationale in some sort of Codex Astartes Legionaries to make them accept this second founding? :V

We should probably rejigger the rank organization to accommodate that change, for narrative consistency if nothing else.

Looking at it, that could mean something as simple as promoting an additional Colonel for each Batallion raised, rather than the current two per legion leading each column.

Generals would also become more and more of a fixture in the General Staff Office of the Imperial Palace, as realistically the IAF would start to become so bloated unless the top brass was constantly making doctrinal decisions and only taking the field when a concentration of forces requires a unified command structure under an officer.

Cue Gerold complaining that he has to fight his way past aides if he wants to so much as inspect a barracks. :V

Nah, we ain't splittin' the Legion yet. It's more like using using a Terran Doctrine made by the Emperor rather than anythin' else.

Though, I wanna what Legion Culture that will sprang from this new Standardisation.

Yeah, the Brigades should each be led by a Colonel with the Legion commander retaining the rank of General. We might have to add ranks above that for higher command functions. Usually that would be a Major General, but we could also use Marshal, or go back to greek titles like Strategos and Exarch.

Mind you, I'm expecting a lot of the Golden Shields to just latch onto Viserys and become his Clerics / Oracles / Favoured Souls, so the number of people we will actually have to fix up will be managable.
This would definitely be the quickest most convenient way to go about it. Zathir is totally gonna be salty, though. Poor Couatl.

That makes some sense.
So far we've had reasonably open battles for the Legion, but we can't assume that will go on in the future, so restructuring them after Westeros is a good point in time.

@Azel speaking of the spectral undead, a lot of those things have sunlight powerlessness, so baring some kind of Minas Tirith shadow over the world situation they would have particular issues even functioning for half the day on the material world. I'm not sure how you would model that. At the very least they would struggle to stay engaged with an army of the living that was retreating since they would have to seek shelter from the sun

Weather effects. Which in turn would mean that weather control has to be a special ability represented in the system.

...

We will need 1-2 months OOC to cover the next month IC, right? :V

Watch DP blow through Slavers' Bay in one chapter, the RAs in two-three, and roll Westeros to have no one stirring up shit in the first month of our rule.

Month-speedrun is genuinely possible, we've no stuff this month that requires on-screen focusn beyond the Reconquest :V

We're going to begin producing 1/Day Celestial Brilliance items this month. Each of them is enough to maintain seven separate instances of the spell at any given time.

A few of those per Legion will be very helpful against all sorts of Undead and Evil Outsiders. It's not sunlight, so doesn't specifically trigger that vulnerability, but it is widespread and unavoidable AoE damage.

Below the level of abstraction. I will not deal with this in any detail.

Basically the flat number for damages and defenses accounts for any possible permutation of upgrade we could roll out on a massive scale?

So it has to be a noteworthy, across the board and non-circumstantial (the effect was nullified / avoided / mitigated) measure, like the Praetorians each having access to the same innate SLAs and racial abilities, or having been mixed with another unit that also has massive damage values and ways to avoid damage.

Well, at some point you have so many upgrades that it warrants an overall stat change, but yeah, a few wands of X are below the level of abstraction while a innate +8 to ATK and DMG for everyone that can't be dispelled is not.
