Speaking of golems:

Mosaic Tile Golem - Would be neat to add a few as security to the Imperial Palace. Noteworthy for being able to absorb fire, cold, electricity, acid and sonic attacks.
Gelatinous Golem - Should count as a bio-construct and thus should be available to be created in Gogossos. @DragonParadox, this is correct?
Coral Golem - We should be able to make these in Gogossos, as the fluff text specifically mentions them being grown from living coral.
Blood Golem - This one is not so useful on it's own, but it is a useful base for some splicing.
I love the idea of Mosaic Tile Golems scattered throughout the Imperial Palace.

We might be able to grow Coral Golems in the Water Elemental Creche if the Flesh Forge isn't suitable. Depends on how much we can expand its functionality and what it would cost to do so. The Ferryman should be feeling pretty damned generous to us, though, considering recent events with the Ironborn, including Aife's new Mythic rank.

I'm actually most interested in those from the batch Azel posted. They would be great to place in lots of places, not just the Palace.

Unfortunately, without the special work arounds we have available for certain types of Golem, like the Forges we use to grow the Kelp and Mushroom Golems, the rituals of the Glassmakers Guild to make Glass Golems, or Valyrian Steel shenanigans with the Heralds, normal Golem crafting is not only expensive, it also has very high spellcasting requirements. The Mosaic Tile Golems, for example, only need a caster level of 11th, but also require Polymorph Any Object, a spell with a minimum caster level of 15th.

Our best bets from Azel's post are those we might be able to grow or form through non-traditional means.

I'm actually hoping that we can get a ritual going to make the mosaic golems by adapting the glass golem ritual. After all, the material of the tiles is not spelled out, so we could just make glass mosaic stones.

And yeah. If we can mass produce them, I see no reason why we shouldn't use them everywhere to beef up security. They go great with Mimics and Vigilant Shadow Cats.

Mind you, the coral golems are neat for aquatic postings. Getting Fast Healing on a construct isn't easy.

If the Palace isn't full of hidden defenses, we aren't trying hard enough.

Speaking of which, we definitely need laser grids and a security camera system. Really, for the latter, it seems like everything is riding on getting to and through Qohor for those templates. Once we have those, we can finally start upping our intelligence game.

So through use of Rituals.
That's actually my thought for the Coral Golems if we can't grow them in a Forge, and why I mentioned the Water Elemental Creche. We've gathered quite a few Triton priests of the Ferryman, most of whom now live in SD. If anyone could develop a ritual that would allow them to create Coral Golems, then perhaps animate them with a willing Water Elemental spirit courtesy of the Ferryman and the Creche, it would be those priests. We also employ 11 Triton smiths skilled in the working of Living Coral who could serve as a nucleus for a Living Coral Golemworks attached to the Water Elemental Creche.

The Glassmakers Guild didn't settle on Glass Golems on a whim, after all. They're skilled glassworkers and mages who know their craft to such an extent that they can perform powerful rituals well beyond the scope mages of their level normally work, and it's primarily because they're working with a medium with which they are so familiar.

If we're going to work to develop a similar ritual for Mosaic Tile Golems, we're going to need master stonemasons and sculptors. We should talk to our Pech about this, along with the Stone Giants who call SD home. Maybe make some inquiries with the Shaitan as well? It would be a nice industry for the Pech to develop once they get settled in their new mountain home, once they decide which one they want.

A pity you could not see this place, this day. You would have loved it, father, he sent his thoughts wistfully towards a man who was likely not in the Seven's Heaven. Leyton Hightower, scholar, philosopher, and aspiring seer would likely find it too boring to linger there. He very deliberately did not think of what the fate of a soul that lost its way might be. That, too, was a skill the smiling man had cultivated.
Is there a lower level spell than Soulseeker for figuring this out? We don't really need it, but I imagine a lot a people would appreciate it after being clued in.

I'm actually just waiting for research slots to open up so that we can install some Serpentstone recorders.

As for Qohor, yeah. The moment we get it, I'm going to design something that will mainly survive on a steady diet of infiltrators.

Which is why I proposed to make the mosaic golems from glass tiles to still use that institutional knowledge.
But I'm quiet in favor of to trying to make stone rituals. Might as well see if we can go for metals too.

Also, if we are at it, we need a few Gold Golems for the palace.

Speak with Soul could work in some circumstances. Unfortunately, if the soul is unwilling and resists the spell, you're left with much the same answer as if it has been destroyed or irrevocably altered in some manner so that it cannot be found at all.

There is already a stealthy version of the Glass Golem which we might be able to adapt for our purposes without needing additional research or training of craftspeople.
Stained Glass Golems (+0 CR): Divine casters sometimes build glass golems that resemble the windowpanes commonly found in temples. Thin and agile, these colorful beings often act as spies, wielding powers of stealth that their larger counterparts do not possess. A stained glass golem has a +8 racial bonus on Stealth checks.
We should find out from @DragonParadox if the Glassmakers can make a version of Glass Golems similar to this. Rather than being able to disguise themselves with whatever material the surrounding floor is made of like a Mosaic Tile Golem, however, the Glass Golem would only have a single alternate format, that of a seemingly ordinary glass window pane. If that is doable, I don't see why we couldn't eventually replace every window in the palace with a Glass Golem.

Reminder that we still need a Shredstorm to fuck with almost every kind of attack that exists.

And for those who don't get it, it is a fucking Adamantine Construct Swarm with electricity immunity that requires a concentration check to allow a caster to cast a spell while inside of it. It can't be hit by weapons, targeted spells, electricity spells nor mind effects. Only AoE damage can hit the swarm that is likely to be standing just over you.

And eventually one or two Colossi guarding the Harbor.

We could ask the Shaitan about any basic golemancy lore they might be willing to give us in exchange of money or lore...or we could wait till the Citadel comes up to see if anything like that exists

If we're going full death trap on the palace we should try making a variant of Trophy Box with a longer duration and more selective trigger criteria. Nothing says surprise like a velociraptor popping out of a hat box to maul your face.:V

floor - Mosaic Tile Golem
window - Stained Glass Golem
ceiling - Mosaic Tile Golem
decorative armor - Black Warden
flower pot - Mimic
flowers in flower pot - Leshies
shadows - Vigilant Shadow Cat
servant - deep cover Inquisition agent
paintings - Trompe L'oeil
infiltrator - dead

*sniff*

It's beautiful.

That said it should be possible to make entire rooms out of a Giant Mimic.

The air in the room needs to be some kind of air elemental. Then it'll be perfect.

Whew, I had to find the construction requirements for these in the MM III. They are ridiculously expensive for a CR 8 Construct that isn't even Immune to Magic like a Golem.

Investing 7,000 IM in enchanting for a CR 8 Shredstorm Construct versus 6,800 IM for a CR 10 Warstrider Golem or 6,000 IM for a Herald is a hard sell for me, despite how awesome and terrifying these things are. They also have steep construction requirements that would seriously limit who could work on them. If DP dials back on that a bit so that our 10th level Master Enchanters can work on them and lets us reduce the cost significantly, maybe by half, I can see us producing lots of Shredstorms.

It might be uncomfortable for the elemental when people breath it all the time.

But instead, we could see about hiding a Hound of Tindalos in the endless void between the right angles:
No Hounds of Tindalos! ✋

That's a whole class of being I don't want to make use of in any manner whatsoever. No need to invite catastrophe.

If it were immune to magic it would be virtually invulnerable to everything save for a Swarmbane weapon or siege weaponry that deals AoE damage. It is already invlnerable to singe target spells, and that means that a lot of magic is useless against it.

Although I can't say anything about the price, though.

What are Hounds of Tindalos and what's wrong with them?
