My point is that you don't have to dig to the bottom of the gouda caves when you instead just make it 3 different characters who can cast one, maybe two spells each.

You didn't need to add a Mythic template to the Chronomancer to make the fight tough. You needed to do so because you only wanted to have one enemy doing all the combat.
That's not really what I do though?

I didn't design the encounter or the back-up, DP asked for a CR 25 Aboleth with time-related bullshit abilities, so I made exactly that.
I don't write the actual update and decide how minion-rich the environment is.

That's a nice feat, though not one we could get a lot of use out of, since Lya has only actually created a few spells that I can recall, and only one of them, Greater Baleful Teleport, was one that would benefit from the DC bonus.
She literally invented PfE (not as the first person to do it of course, but she never properly learned the spell, instead developing it from first principles).

Similarly for Battlemagic Perception.

Your early post about being frustrated that the Aboleth "needed" a high-CR Mythic template made that sound quiet different.

Still though. Add some backup dancers and pester DP to include them instead of bloating the main bosses CR. It's what I do too. Makes for much saner encounters.

I'll wait then. I'd rather have him part of that fight instead of him having to sit it our due to having no sheet, but I've already got to design opforce.
Oh, if a lack of a sheet is holding up a battle or something, I'll try to get one put together more quickly. Maybe by this evening or tomorrow?

@DragonParadox, can I get a stat line for Marwyn, along with any special gear he has? I know he's got a Mind Blank and likely basic stat boosters, but anything else of note?

Also Lya's Magnificent Mansion, Greater Baleful Teleport, Sage's Radiant Spellward, Sage's Spell Shift. I can't think of any others.

Although they would all benefit from the +1 caster level bonus, only Greater Baleful Teleport requires an enemy to make a saving throw, so it's the only one that would benefit from the DC bonus. Lya also doesn't know any Metamagic, so she wouldn't benefit from the level reduction, either.

All in all, a really neat and fluffy feat, but not one I would use for Lya's last non-Mythic feat, barring bonus feats she might earn for doing amazing shit in the future or learning special skills, like Runecrafting.

I meant that more in hindsight I guess?
It's pretty obvious from our current stand of knowledge that he would have died quicker without the template.

I guess I can try that once the next big battle rolls around. Not like the Deep Ones, Devils or other relevant foes lack in chaff.
Edit: i mean high-end chaff, not regular mooks which would change nothing.

Depends on how you use them. Give some Imps a few Wands. Have low-level Illithid telekinetically hurl grapple focused, flesh forged octopi at casters. There are plenty of means and it's not as if Baator or the Elder Brain would give a flying fuck about low-level minions dying like mayflies.

I'm still toying with the idea of a JRPG style boss with different bodyparts. Illithid creation with multiple psion brains that can cast independently. Sentient items that can use themselves at the direction of their owner. Stuff like that.

Greater Baleful Teleport
Conjuration (Teleportation)
Level: Sorcerer 8, Wizard 8
Components: V
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: One creature
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

This spell functions like Baleful Teleport, except that there is no limit to how far you may send your target and there is no chance they will arrive elsewhere.

In addition, you need not have seen the target's destination, but in that case you must have at least a reliable description of the place to which you teleporting them (such as a detailed description from someone else or a particularly precise map). If you attempt to Teleport a target using insufficient information (or with misleading information), the spell fails. Interplanar travel is not possible.

Lya's character sheet has been updated with her latest level up. She's the second Companion, after only Malarys, to gain the ability to cast 9th level spells. 🤓

Behold the Moray Eel, which also exists. An eel with two jaws, which inspired the Predator series.
And they can also be cuddly.

Down with the prejudice!
Eldritch horrors have feeligns too!

That I personally know a duiver who lost a finger to a mooray eel is out of the post's context. Totally.

[X] Invite the trolls to settle in Sorcerer's Deep, or one of the surrounding areas.
Never can go wrong with "settle more magical shit on SD" as far as I'm concerned.
