Eh, ngl, to me this month is not anywhat an exciting sort overall.
We have a plan, we are going to go through it, and then the month ends.

I mean...
All we have is a bunch of reports to blow through.
And then try and kill Court of Stars.

That's it.

No morality discussions dredging up the old salts;
No Lucan showing up in the schedule for us to try and diplomance/kill;
No new group like Rebel!Illithids to discuss the (lack of) trustworthiness;
No real narratively big moments (sans the end of the month. Ymeri and CoS kinda count) to gush over like Mammon or Gogossos' been for months after being done;
We aren't discussing any new super-projects because by now we've ling ran through most if the discussions on the ideas;
Even the RAs this month are pretty uninteresting sort overall. Aside from the Shiny!Hammer, the rest of it is throughly... "meh" and is just there to be done;
Westeros interests more readers as is clearly seen by the chapter-ratings, but I personally don't read them, so whatever, about 10% less thead-participation there.

Theres really nothing of great discusion-worthyness to have this month until the "beefy" chapters roll up, and those (Ymeri, CoS) are naturally set to be by month's end.

I don't really have much to comment on Buttercup.
Why should I? It's funny, kinda entertaining, but doesn't require any input from my side, nor does it provoke any strong opinions.
I feel like giving a Like or Funny says everything I have to say.

Well, it's been several months since I've touched this story, but I think I finally have time again to try tackling this behemoth and get caught up. That is, if I can actually find where I left off...

I think it was when they hit that Efreeti prison.
Here is the chapter published right before your last comments back on March 5th.

A Sword Without a Hilt: A Song of Ice and Fire/D&D 3.5 Crossover

A Sword Without a Hilt: A Song of Ice and Fire/D&D 3.5 Crossover In a world where magic has all but guttered to ashes, becoming the fare of charlatans, petty conjurers, and ragged illusionists, a mighty change is stirring. From small and fragile sparks a great blaze will be reborn and men will...

Still you make a mental note to find her a body of her own that she may be more than a tool so oft discounted.

(not trying to drag in new things to the quest, just commenting on the idea of senrient weapons being able to move)
Living weapons were one of the more interesting concepts in Soul Eater, even if it was not my type of anime.

Would Dark Sister look like a Valyrian Amazon of a lady?

Much obliged. A good a point to resume as any.

EDIT: Oh, I wasn't caught up when I posted then. I'm still a good few thousand pages behind that.

We have some very far off and still pretty vague plans to turn her into a CR 20 Outsider later on. She's definitely look the part of the magical amazon angel then.

Part MMMDCLXX: A Death Most Inconvenient
A Death Most Inconvenient

Eight Day of the Third Month 294 AC

"It was a bit like a mousetrap, isn't it?" Lya asks as another demon falls through the floor of its summoning circle and into the vat of churning coal black ooze, someone, probably Qyburn or Elaheh, had named a 'stone pudding' for its ubiquitous petrifying touch.

That the monstrosity could probably tear its way through a small city if left loose hardly matters, it can't get through the hardened steel and even if it could the creature would hardly be able to harm either you or Lya. Some of the flesh-forged watchers would be less fortunate granted, but that is if any spillage can somehow occur before either of you can react, which given what you can do so between one heartbeat and the next is unlikely. Another name leaves you lips, the ninth today, another minor demon, another life, another flame for the sacrifice.

"Are you in there? Priority whisper for Viserys," Lya waves a hand in front of your face as the Scholarum sorcerers using the circle, trusted masters all but some of them still quite young, struggle not to smile.

You chuckle at the expression that has started to make the rounds of the Scholarum. "Yeah, I am just thinking of how we smoothed all this out. It is the kind of thing the old demon binders of Mantarys would have thought impressive, and I can still recall when I was horrified at the notion of them as much as the threat of the Whispering Gate."

"I would count it for a good cause, fewer demons and not having to fight a partisan war against the land itself in the Reach, or watch it turn into a nursery tale with flesh and blood folk for props," she answers lightly.

"It's not that. I'm not worried about reasons, I wouldn't be here if I were. Merely pondering how much easier it is for us to make something like this. In Mantarys the conjurors would not have trusted the flesh-smiths to provide the ooze and the guards..." you motion around the featureless grey room that holds not just erinyes but many eyed briars and the new wathmoles. "It feels like we are better at this kind of arcana than the Valyians. It's... odd." Odd in magic of this sort too often meant perilous in some unexpected way, you did not need to say aloud.

"You do trust more readily. I have found that at times the deeper answers are the obvious ones," Mereth interjects softly. "Most would not say that such an inclination makes for worse conjurors, but unwavering suspicion can be as crippling as credulity. The erstwhile lords of Mantarys were so very worried about Hell claiming its due, about the doom upon their birth, that they bound themselves in chains of their own making, pitting Freeholder against sorcerer, flesh-smith against artificer, until there was barely any fire left to even illuminate the world outside their borders, much less act upon it."

You never did get a chance to answer, for as the Herald started to fish the most recent demon out of the ooze you watched in shock as the stone of its new form crumbled to nothing but foul smoke and to mage's eyes the blue-black flame of necromancy. The sorcerers stop in their chanting... It looks like your inspection has just gotten a lot more interesting that you might have preferred.

"It's mind was screaming as it perished," the blood-mold in the nearest black knight gurgled. "It did not escape in some other form."

Mind dragons and furies confirmed the demon's death, Lya going to far as to say it might even be True Death, though she did not see any spell cast upon the petrified fiend. It seemed to burst from within.

OOC: Not the best background rolls in this I'll say this much.

@DragonParadox, I think theres a continuity error here that invalidates the chapter entirely?

Viserys was not supposed taking part in summoning until the 11th at all.
Not able at all, in fact.

Only by the 11th does Lya craft the things needed to do so.

That's why we are having the 11th as the date we do our other things (orphne, buttercup, biolding demiplanes) as the deadline.

@DragonParadox, We are:
1) Making a number of Summoning items that are then used to summon demons into the ooze as the month's start. The items are running throughout the month.
2) Lya crafts the spell-pages for Viserys while that goes on. And Viserys makes off-plane Snares.
3) When 11th comes the stuff to summon with (spell-pages) is ready and Viserys and Lya start summoning on one-off Snares with lots of others as guards.

They really shouldn't be there doing what they are doing in the chapter.
Viserys is explicitly expected to be either setting up Snares, or doing Minor Actions.

:/

Yeah, the timing of this one doesn't quite fit, @DragonParadox. I think you might want to push this one back several days and use it later.

Damn I missed the part where it said a team of mages. One moment. That's easily fixed .

@DragonParadox, this is the non-Viserys stuff:
-[X] Part 0 - Snare preparations and continued summoning:
--[X] Using diamond dust, the Snare will be enhanced with Permanent Symbols of Blinding (2,000 IM) and Vulnerability (5,000 IM) that have been password protected to allow our personnel to avoid being affected by their effects.
--[X] In her Half-Celestial form, Dany will use her Hallow spell-like ability with a linked Resist Energy (Acid) spell to create a ward against Acid damage that will extend from the inner edge of the Summoning Circle to the walls of the Snare Chamber itself, protecting everyone and everything within the effect with 30 Acid Resistance. The Summoning Circle itself will remain under the effects of a Hallow spell with a linked Dimensional Anchor effect.
--[X] The security of the Snare itself will be further enhanced by a Permanent 30th level Lost Locale spell (DC 33 Will save, 40th level to overcome Spell Resistance) using diamond dust (14,000 IM). The spell will affect the entire island which houses the Snare.
--[X] The shaft beneath the Summoning Circle will be temporarily sealed, the floor of the circle will be sheathed in a 1/4 inch thick layer of Adamantine (6.5 cubic feet of Adamantine spread over the 315 square feet of the 20 foot diameter circle, 190,710 IM value), and an immense steel vat sufficient to contain a Gargantuan-sized Stone Pudding will be placed within it, taking up the entire available floor space of the circle. Viserys, working alongside Lya, will use a 30th level Hardening spell to raise the Hardness of the Adamantine to 35 and the steel to 25.
---[X] A special order Stone Pudding will be grown in the Flesh Forge, augmented to be immobile but gifted with the Advanced and Giant templates, along with 16 additional Racial Hit Dice. This will be a CR 15 creation and will cost 28,800 IM, but will increase the Fortitude saving throw DC of the Stone Pudding's Petrifying Touch from 21 to 32.
----[X] The special order Stone Pudding will be contained within the Hardened steel vat occupying the Summoning Circle so that it will be in immediate physical contact with each Summoned Brimorak, forcing it to make a DC 32 Fortitude saving throw to avoid being Petrified. Even if it resists, it will be stuck within the Summoning Circle and forced to continue making saves each round to avoid Petrification.
--[X] Using the Summoner's Circle of Lesser Planar Binding, a team of mages will work to continually Summon Brimorak Demons, one every 10 minutes, throughout the 3rd month. Each Summoning attempt will have a 70% chance of successfully overcoming the Will save of a random Brimorak, meaning that an average of 100 Brimoraks will be Summoned of the potential 144 on a daily basis. Over a 30 day period, this should result in the Summoning of 3,000 Brimorak Demons (18,000 combined HD).
---[X] The Summoner's Circle of Lesser Planar Binding is a three foot diameter ring of Mithral engraved with runes of Conjuration and Summoning which. When linked to a prepared Summoning Circle, it allows the user standing or sitting within it to use the Lesser Planar Binding spell to Summon and Outsider with no more than 6 HD as often as once per 10 minutes. Outsiders Summoned in this manner can resist the effect with a DC 17 Will saving throw.
---[X] A Herald will remove the Petrified Brimoraks from the Stone Pudding's vat before they can be catastrophically damaged by the Ooze's powerful acid. The Petrified Brimorak will then be moved to where another Herald is set up alongside our Shrink Item Chamber. For the first several days of the month, a Herald will use the Shrink Item Chamber to reduce each Petrified Brimorak to a more easily stored size. It will switch over to the more powerful Advanced Shrink Item Chamber when it is completed. The Chambers will be used as often as necessary to keep all Petrified Brimoraks shrunken, until they are needed for sacrifice.
----[X] Guards:
-----[X] Inside the Snare: Mereth, 8x Erinyes, 4x Heralds, 8x Glass Golems, 4x Vigilant Briars, 4x Blood Clot Molds, 4x Black Brutes, 2x Greater Blood Clot Molds, 2x Black Champions, 1x Adult Mind Dragon, 5x Watchmoles
-----[X] Outside the Snare: Balerion, 8x Fiery Dragonbeasts, 24x Erinyes, 6x Heralds, 12x Glass Golems, 16x Vigilant Briars, 6x Blood Clot Molds, 6x Black Brutes, 5x Watchmoles
This is Viserys stuff:
[] In preparation for accelerated Summoning, Viserys will create a series of ten temporary Demiplanes, one per day leading up to his and Lya's efforts. Each will be intended for one day of use before being Dispelled in order to prevent planar instability. With guidance from Lya and his own deep understanding of planar mechanics, Viserys will determine the best Plane other than the Material Plane to serve as a link for the Demiplanes, the plane from which the initial spell will be cast.
-[] The Demiplanes will be created using Create Greater Demiplane.
--[] Each Demiplane will be warded using a Forbiddance spell which encompasses the entire space, except for one small area that will be used for entry and exit, and the Summoning Circle itself. The entry/exit point will be blocked by a large stone block which we can move in and out of place as needed. The walls of each Demiplane will be coated in a thin sheet of transmuted lead for additional anti-Divination purposes, and the Mage's Private Sanctum and Lost Passage spells will be placed on the day of the Summoning.
--[] The Summoning Circle will feature an inverted Magic Circle Against Evil along with a Hallow spell linked to a Dimensional Anchor effect to allow Summoning but to prevent the circle from being used as an entry or exit point from the Demiplane using dimensional travel magic or abilities.
---[] The Summoning Circle will feature a Hardened Steel vat which will be used to contain an Advanced Stone Pudding identical to the one being used in the Snare this month.
--[] Another Hallow spell linked to a Resist Energy (Acid) spell will protect everyone, our Summoned and Petrified Brimoraks included, from incidental Acid damage from the Stone Pudding.
--[] A Shrink Item Chamber identical to the advanced model being used in the Snare will be shrink all of the Petrified Brimoraks for easy storage and transport.
-[] As detailed here, once Summoning begins, Lya and Viserys should be able to Summon 394 Brimoraks per day per Demiplane, totaling 2,364 HD.
-[] Companions and additional guards who will help oversee the Summoning will be determined later in the month when the process actually begins.

-[X] Part 3 - The Great Summoning: Summon as many Fiends as you possibly can to fuel the ritual.
----[] Summoners: Viserys, Lya (1st Body)
----[] Guards: Dany, Richard, Vee (Free Action), Zherys, Waymar (Free Action), Malarys, Tyene (Free Action), Adamantine Golem (Monk 1)

-[X] Part 4 - Culmination: Perform the great ritual at the end of the month, sacrificing thousands of fiends to destroy the Court of Stars. Then immediately assemble a strike-force with all available Companions to either confirm the demise of the Court of Stars leadership or to assault their seat of power to finish off what is left.
----[X] Everyone from the other parts, plus everyone else who is available.

I think I forgot to put the exacts of the "how will hiserys summon stuff" in the turnvote, but I think that was also b/c we actually voted on that afterwards...?

Whatever, putting it in now.

-[] Write in

[] Collapse the demiplane and start working in one of the others.

[] Try to summon the next daemon to see if this repeats

[] Write in

Here's an edited version of the chapter, DP.

EDIT: This edit is for the initial iteration of the chapter.

If it gives them true death, whatever it is... Then find a way to put it in every weapon ever. To all Demons everywhere...

You get true death and you get true death and you get true death, everyone is getting true death!

Well as long as it only concerns Demons and such, if it can affect us then fuck that noise and get rid of it now.

You don't know if it's true death, Lya just thinks it's possible.

Edits done, Viserys and Lya are not the ones doing the summoning, they are just inspecting it... and something is killing the demons.
One more slight change that is needed would be in the voting options, since the dedicated Summoning action using Lesser Planar Binding rather than the accelerated Summoning being conducted by Viserys and Lya, is going to take place in the Snare, as @egoo noted above.

We're also Summoning Demons instead of Daemons.
