It won't be long before some of the first graduating alumni are ready to start administering and teaching at Scholarium branches as full time faculty. 🤓Thought y'all might be interested to know how many mages we're responsible for having trained.
When you compare it to the next largest magical organization which isn't based out of Asshai (which has no more than several hundred mages total) it's pretty goddamn prodigious. Granted we've really only trained around 128 mages who are worth their salt in magic. That's after having opened the doors on the Scholarum in late 292 AC, so less than a year and a half of work.
Class\Level 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
1843,00 693,00 254,00 68,00 81,00 44,00 3,00
Total: 2,986
If we keep up a similar pace, I expect by 300 AC we'll have anywhere from 40,000 to 50,000 mages. Granted, over two thirds of them are likely to be Hedge Mages, Adepts and Magewrights.
If we suppose the average stays fairly regular over a longer time scale, around 5% of the PC classes have the potential to breach the soft cap.
So if you think about it, there's potential for nearly a thousand Paragon (10~) mages in our empire over the next half decade.
And that's just with the current projected numbers, we'll be establishing new branches of the Scholarum in due order, probably increasing the numbers by an order of magnitude.
If we suppose that a mere tenth of a percent (being generous) of every Paragon has the potential to be a PC, for every 1,000 we're responsible for training, there's one Companion grade mage hidden in the pile. So we could create another PC every five years, or if it's a hundredth of a percent, every fifty years.
Realistically speaking, fifty years seems closer to accurate, but then that's having your perspective skewed by the fact that we've uncovered dozens of PCs in the span of five years. Could just be a one-time bonus due to the Reawakening of Magic having some confluence of metaphysical events at its core resulting in dozens of people with some grand destiny converging all at once.
Gonna loop the video 3-4 times with each loop having different names, then.Alas, there's not enough people in the entire video that's from to represent all the bitch-slapping we've done and will be doing.

Dragon-style Kung Fu!
Good point, we should do this soon. Wonder if we can find Anu's avatar non-functionalI doubt the already diminished demiplane of a dead god will remain stable for long, but it's definitely worth checking out.
Maybe, but I doubt these things would be good at crafting. They still need smiths to make swords for their skeletons for example. Worst case is its a relative waste of time that gives us a bit of loot. Agree its not as urgent as the other cities. As for Gornath, I'm pretty sure that we got some indication that the Rat King didn't really have any "civilian" Undead, and that they had all been pressed into service as his army. That would explain the 500+ Bloody Bones and the countless Devouring Mists (which are normally 10ft-ish swarms) being so numerous that they were more like a bloody fogbank than any individual swarms.
Also, damn, this hammer is bitchin'. It's basically Mjölnir.Skyforger:
The true version of this hammer would be an instrument of creation beyond anything mortal magic can create, but this feeble remnant of a deity merely managed to will a copy suited for destruction into existence. The large Returning +5 Starmetal Warhammer has a range increment of 50ft when thrown and suffers no penalty when used as a thrown weapon. Once per day, the wielder may call on the hammer's full power and throw it to unleash and explosion of thunder and lightning on impact, dealing 6d6 Electricity and 6d6 Sonic damage to everything in a 30ft radius around the impact. Targets can make a Fortitude save (DC 25) to take half damage and avoid being deafened for 1d4 minutes.
Hes more a less put all of the undead in the city in the Matrix so that they think they are still alive thousands of years ago.Can someone fill me in on what the Lord Protector's deal is?
Kinda flew over the chapters with him.
Ah. Alright. I had the gist of that, but the part about him killing everyone and the illusion being his doing are new to me.Hes more a less put all of the undead in the city in the Matrix so that they think they are still alive thousands of years ago.
Also the void sent absolutely jacked daemon to try and corrupt the place.
This is slightly concerning.
He has a nephew that is the last piece to making the matrix permanent but the nephew is holding out because the lord protector ordered the entire city put to the sword to spare them the Dothraki.
Edit:
I think that's it. Feel free to chime in if I missed something guys.
All three items are really nice. The hammer doesn't appear to have the conceptual association with smithing that I was hoping for, but it's still a bitchin' weapon. We don't really have anyone who can use it right now, at least not anyone on our radar. I would keep it in the Armory for now until a good wielder comes along or we find a better use for it.Also, damn, this hammer is bitchin'. It's basically Mjölnir.
Any plans for it?
The armor is pretty great too, though most of the people who need to wear mithril to rock full-plate unfortunately can't wear it, leaving it basically to just to martial characters.
The Cloak is a lot more limited in terms of casual usage. Can become very inconvenient to time magic usage in a group.
Edit: There's also the possibility for creating our own crafting hammer artifact, though I'm not sure what kind of effects that would have for stuff we make with it. Make Constructs even cheaper then they already are?
@Azel's idea has merit. If there is any Divine mojo left in Anu-Simung's remains, Lya and Anu might be able to extract it and modify the hammer to be helpful with crafting.@Goldfish if the Hammer languishes in the armory for too long, Ceria might later shape up to be a good wielder for it. Aside from the fact she's one of the few PCs we have who uses warhammers, at least she's on theme.

I could see the hammer giving mythic crafting, similar to the higher tiers of Lya's mythic path@Azel's idea has merit. If there is any Divine mojo left in Anu-Simung's remains, Lya and Anu might be able to extract it and modify the hammer to be helpful with crafting.
I'm not sure what the effect of that would be if they succeeded, however. Maybe something that could enhance Constructs, or make them cheaper like you suggest? I still have the idea of the hammer being used in conjunction with the anvil we learned about in the Plane of Water possibly be components to repairing the Inevitable Forge in Axis, or maybe just allowing the creation of individual Inevitables via ritual. Imperial Inevitables... 🤤
I like @Azel's proposal for the hammer best. Anu was a god of artifice and metal. While he brought that hammer into being for war, it's still his divine essence invested in creation, which has some amazingly thematic abilities for basically everything Lya does for us. If we can get her and our Anu to repurpose it into a crafting tool that would be fantastic.@Azel's idea has merit. If there is any Divine mojo left in Anu-Simung's remains, Lya and Anu might be able to extract it and modify the hammer to be helpful with crafting.
