Not sure how far we want to go on this trip, but we could present something like spark of life linked to a hallow spell as something we purchased at SD. It's not like this guy knows enough to understand what kind of power that takes, and it'd be a great way to spread the Imperium's reputation.

When presenting the idea of switching from undead to magical clockwork robots I think we'll have an easier time convincing people if the Imperium has an existing reputation for powerful magic being at least somewhat accessible than if they have no idea who we are.

Now might not be the best time, but pretending to be several different traders from various areas of the empire who all have access to similar comfort goods for the undead across this region would set the stage nicely. If the undead will gossip like the living we wouldn't need more than a few incidents to establish the Imperium's big wizard energy as "common knowledge".

Huh, seems somewhat bitter, but not exactly filled with a burning hatred for all things living, which is a large step better than expected for any random Undead.

Those are a bit beyond what any sane and most insane people would try to sell.
If your wares can drive 99% of all potential merchants or buyers crazy, or bring them under his control, it's not good wares.

Which is why I added mercenaries to the list. The place is so tightly clenched under Asmodeus' fist that there's gotta be at least ONE of those being out there.

Ah, well. It's nothing more than just a wish. I'd not fret over it much if we're unable to get them.

We didn't have enough forewarning to have reasonably prepared any specialty items to sell as part of our merchant cover for this particular trip, but I can add some Fleshy Facade charms to the crafting schedule for next time. They would only last 30 minutes and cost 30 IM, but an Undead would still probably appreciate the effect quite a bit.

This guy can't exactly detect magic. We can pull a random item out and have Dany or Viserys cast a stilled silenced hallow with spark of life on it, and pantomime using whatever we grabbed so that when he tells the story later it makes sense to someone who knows what to look for. Hallow lasts for a year on its own, so as long as we tell him that up front we shouldn't have a problem.

The fleshy facade charms are a good idea too, but I think we should mix in some Disguise Undead items since they'll work on the corporeal undead not effected by fleshy facade. Maybe a few Amulets of Grasping Souls for particularly wealthy ghosts.

We don't know who else is in the area, so overt displays of powerful magic should be avoided, IMO. Amulets of Grasping Souls are not cheap and definitely not something we would have just lying around.

Disguise Undead would be nice, but we've already got Ribbons of Disguise which are much cheaper and have largely the same effect, minus blocking Detect Undead spells.

I was suggesting making a few amulets for our next trip, not that we'd have them on hand.

Also, aren't the ribbons of disguise based on alter self? That spell is a second level spell and has a duration of 10 minutes/CL. Disguise undead is also second level spell, but it has a flat duration of 24 hours. Shouldn't it be cheaper than the alter self enchantment since it can be 1/day rather than continuous?

Ribbons of Disguise are based on the Disguise Self spell and are basically our equivalent to the classic Hat of Disguise. It's the Greater Ribbons of Disguise which use Alter Self.

If we're going to stick multiple souls into one chassis, then we need to do it right. Don't use warforged; stick the charnel colossus directly into a Mighty Abandoned Armory. :V
