Oh wow, that Legendary Weapon thing is just bullshit. Doubling total damage is just insane for someone like Waymar, who already deals a big pile of damage in a single strike.

@Goldfish, why not just make Purity into a Legendary weapon?

Revised proposal for Waymar's Mythic path. Mournblade would have been a bit more thematic, but Purity fits well, too. It's grown alongside him throughout his adventures.

[] Waymar's 1st Mythic Rank
-[] Mythic Feat: Extra Path Ability (Energy Conversion)
-[] Path: Archmage
--[] Mage Strike: As a Swift Action, you can expend one use of Mythic power to make one melee attack. This is in addition to any other attacks you make this round. If you expend one arcane spell that you've prepared or arcane spell slot that you have available, you gain a bonus on the attack roll equal to double the spell's or slot's level, and the attack deals an additional 2d6 points of energy damage (your choice of Acid, Cold, Electricity, or Fire) per level of the spell or slot expended. The normal damage from this attack bypasses all Damage Reduction, but the energy damage is still affected by resistances and immunities.
-[] Path Abilities:
--[] Energy Conversion: Whenever you cast a spell with the Acid, Cold, Electricity, or Fire descriptor, you can expend one use of Mythic power to switch the energy type to a different one of those energy types. If the spell normally has its original energy type as a descriptor, it loses that descriptor and gains the new type as a descriptor. All other effects of the spell remain unchanged.
--[] Legendary Item (Purity):
---[] Purity's Legendary Powers:
----[] Powerful: An item with this ability has two additional uses of Legendary power per day.
----[] Unstoppable Strike: This weapon bypasses all armor. The wielder can expend one use of Legendary power when attacking to make the attack against Touch AC. If he instead expends two uses of Legendary power, the weapon also bypasses any Deflection bonus to AC the target has.
----[] Foe-Biting: When this item deals damage, its user can use Mythic power to double the total amount of damage it deals. If the attack is a normal attack, the bearer can expend one use of Legendary power to double the total amount of damage. If the attack is a confirmed Critical Hit, the bearer must instead expend two uses of Legendary power to double the total damage. Damage from weapon special abilities (such as Flaming) and Precision-based damage are also doubled.

@Azel
1. Please make sure to take every scrap remaining of that Winter Champion.
2. Stories are all well and good, but can you get the Thenn Princess to hand over all the runelore she has access to? I imagine that more than anything will save us research time.

While this is very flavorful, it's worth keeping in mind that the Mournblade is cursed and that even its original creator did not envisage it being carried by one of his people after the duel. Investing Waymar that far into the artifact as it is might not be entirely safe. That said Lya might be able to apply some of its runes to Purity given her present skills and available lore
@DragonParadox, can't we just pay the Old Gods to de-curse it? It's not like they don't have their own skill in runes, and their power is a direct counter to the influence of the Others.

Standard looting protocols are always in play. :cool2:

The Thenn princess wasn't a Runemaster, so I don't think she has anything of that type she could pass on besides stories.

He already specified that the cure it part of what makes it work, so we might want to find a better option than just de-cursing.

Sacrificing some Mythic Power each day he wields it sounds like a reasonable option to me?

She probably has knowledge of a few of the more ambitious projects her kin attempted before their failure. Even her accounting of that lore is valuable in its own right.
Maybe, though it might also make it less powerful.
That'd be fine by me.

It sounds reasonable, but I don't really expect this curse to be reasonable. We'll have to see what DP is going to stat it as.

Depending on how it goes it might be worth switching to the Mournblade full time instead of Purity.

Can we get the stats for the bloody thing first before we continue about this, i'd rather just use it's designs to upgrade Purity even more, i just like that much more thematically since he has been wielding it for like forever

[X] Azel

I strongly advise that we get the Full Stats of that Blade before we try to slap it with any Mythic juice.

It might still be better for him to use against Others and their minions than Purity, but with the curse still in effect Purity is probably better for most other situations.

If Waymar learns the Energy Conversion Mythic ability, even if affected by the curse he could instead cast Fire or Acid Lances against the Others when using Mournblade.

@Goldfish I think we should definitely keep Mournblade on hand for when Waymar has to fight Others. While Miracle and Wish are extremely limited resources for other people, Waymar has archmages and deities on tap to help him put it away when the fight is over.

I agree. Even if it isn't Waymar's main weapon, it's definitely worth keeping available for use in appropriate situations.

With Purity as a Legendary Weapon using that ability, and upgraded by Lya...

-[] Waymar targets the Champion with his Lightning Lance ability, modified using Sudden Maximize, Born of the Three Thunders, and all three charges from his ring (54 Impact + 102 Sonic damage + Electricity damage, DC 19 Fortitude save for half damage and to avoid being Stunned for 1 round), then uses his Temporal Acceleration crystal as a Swift Action to gain the effects of Time Stop for two rounds.

Doubling everything, it's 71 average damage against non-Evil Outsiders, plus 108 Impact, 102 Sonic and 102 Electricity damage, for a total of 383 average damage when using this ability combined with a channeled Lightning Lance.

Against Evil Outsiders that becomes 408 average damage.

On a Critical hit that becomes 766 for most anything else, and 816 versus Evil Outsiders.

Ssssooo yeah.

Waymar had a super move already.

So like any battle shounen anime, his super move just got an upgraded version of the original one.
